I have to perform for a variety show (talent show) at my dad's church. I need something to do. I want to play piano and sing, and as you probably know, I do that often and (apparently) pretty well. I haven't decided what song to do yet. I might do a song posted at my website, or I might try to take a Clay song and learn it by ear for the show. It's in about a month.

What Clay song should I try to adapt? I might do "This is the Night," but preferably not, because I sometimes have to flip up to falsetto to hit some high notes. I might also do "Measure of a Man," which would be very cool. But I dunno...what do you people think would be best? Should I attempt a Clay song? Or stick with something I already know?

Greg, I think MOAM with just the piano accompanying you would be so wonderful, go for it, that song is so beautiful!!!

I found sheet music to the melody, so I'm figuring out the chords by ear, with a little variation. I'll try a demo for you all...see if it sounds all right.

Greg,
I think MOAM would be absitively posilutely perrrrrfect!!! Its such a beautiful song and you would sing it beautifully.  I think it would also be a great song to sing at church.  Have fun with whatever you pick!!  I hope I will get to hear whatever it is...ahem *hint hint* lol

I vote for Measure of a Man.  It's relevent and appropriate.  Plus, it's just pretty and they'll love it.  You can do it Greg!  Yeah!

ETA the "v" to "love."  They may "loe" it too, but they will definitely "love" it. Laughing

Oooh, sorry, Liz...already performed back about a month ago...look at the date I posted.

The link is in my signature...but don't worry, I have the sheet music for TITN, and can play it. Once I figure out how to sing it without being, well, BAD, then I'll work on that.
