DEAR GUESS,

SINCE I AM THE ONE WHO CREATED, THIS THREAD I WANTED TO TELL YOU  THAT AT THE BEGINING OF BLACK LEATHER PANTS PART 1, I WAS JUST HAVING FUN WITH THE IDEA  THAT CLAY WAS IN "LEATHER PANTS"

BUT AS THIS THREAD GREW, IT EVOLVED INTO SOMETHING MORE. WOMEN OF ALL DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS CAME TO THIS COMMON THREAD BECAUSE OF THE LIKE THAT THEY HAD FOR A "GEEKY CROONER" FROM NORTH CARLONIA. YES,THE "VOICE WAS A BIG ATTRACTION FOR ME. BUT, THE MORE  I GOT TO KNOW ABOUT HIM(YES, THROUGH THE MEDIA) THE MORE I WAS INSPIRED BY HIM.

PERHAPS IT'S BECAUSE WE LIVE IN SUCH DARK TIMES! INNOCENCE OF "AMERICA" IS NO LONGER HERE(09/11/2001). LIVING WITH THE UNCERTAINTY OF TOMORROW CAN BE FRIGHTENING!

HE LIKE'S A BREATH OF FRESH AIR THAT IS SORELY  NEED IN THIS STALE SOCIETY!

DIDN'T MEAN TO WAXED THE "PHILOSOPHICAL" BUT THAT'S MY ANSWER!

YOUR TRULY

Dear Guest:
Outthere said it best - you need to join us !  Ok - I know that I dont do my best as being vocal here either, but I try.  Count me among one of your more silent Claygirls.
As far as your questions, you are entirely correct in that much of his look is "created".  But, we did see him at the auditions and in pictures from his previous life....  and he has shed a great deal of light on his personality and his hopes, which are gorgeous.  Of course we all dont know him personally, but this is a fan site. All famous people have fans and how much do we really know about any of them ?
Many people use the internet to satisfy holes in their "real life" - whether it be friends, or looking ar porn (not that I encourage that), or chatting for fun.  Here, we chat with "friends", listen to GREAT music, look at cute pictures, and gain much happiness.  Does that make us crazy ?  I dont think so.  If it does, I dont care.  Its fun  Laughing:

any better... Clay just makes people feel good... it's really hard to explain. It's like his CD is very positive and it makes you feel better just listening to it no matter what's going wrong... like for me being out of work it's been nice to have something positive to listen to and pick up my mood. Plus there's the way he treats people, and his fans with respect. What you see with Clay is what you get I think that's why people like him so much... oh sorry rambilng

Guest -

You said you have been reading through the thread and our posts. Yet you still ask the question of "Why". If you have truly read through this thread your question would have been answered. The answer is different for each one of us. Some admire and respect the, "geeky crooner" I believe you called him (personally I prefer sexy man but that is a whole other post), for very personal reasons and none have to do with the media. The media has nothing to do with that amazing voice that forces so many emotions in all of us. His voice, his music makes my heart happy and from there everything else in life just seems better. Surely you've read of quite a few of the meet and greets where he has gone beyond what was "expected" of him. This young man has brought hope, love, and joy to my life as well as the lives of many others. He makes a difference in ways he didn't even realize it.  He is who he is and the media can change his hair and his glasses but they'll never change who he is.

So Guest, believe who you will and believe what you want. The answer to your question will be different from each of us because he means something different to all of us.

Hope you have gotten what you came here looking for. Have a wonderful evening.

Ok, Guest, I hope some of the Claygirls' responses were helpful...I think ClaysMD speaks my mind here (sorry, doc...don't mean to scare you!) The things we say in this particular thread are perhaps more reflective of our admiration of the Clay package...uh, wait, that's not what I meant....

What I mean is the outward presentation...no, that makes one start thinking about...

The external physical image...no, it's NOT the image. It's knowing that the soul behind all that gorgeousness, "manufactured" by hairstylists, image consultants or record producers, is one that we yearn to know intimately.

Clay, through his heaven-sent voice, got our attention in the beginning. This man, who was once told he was a "mistake", has via the media become known so that that soul can do its work....not just the admirable and appreciated job of melting women's hearts (and in some cases, bodies Wink: ), but the obvious endeavors of his Bubel/Aiken Foundation and the attention he's garnered for volunteerism and kindness in general. Then, as we come to know him through these acts, we learn more---of his loyalty, his devotion, his....ok, I wrote all this earlier and have posted similar thoughts on other threads of this site, so I'll spare you the treatise here.

But, Guest, please know this. I can only speak for myself, but I wish  for only one thing regarding yourself....if you love Clay or appreciate him in the way we do, please join us. We're a fun bunch and our newfound friendships have been a great comfort and source of joy in these past weeks (months, Claygirls? shock: ). If you are merely surfing the net, reading, wondering, gathering info, you're welcome to do so here, too. But please...when you decide to move on to the next site, take with you the certainty that the women on THIS thread harbor only love, admiration, encouragement, hope and gratitude for Clay Aiken; nothing we say is ever meant to hurt him in any way; everything we say is said with love (even if we do often dress it in "lechery"!) and in support of his making his own dreams come true.

Thanks!

As much as we women sigh, pant and thud whenever we see Clay in whatever form (pictures, concerts, TV appearances, or media events), it really doesn't matter about the look of Clay. Most of us would prefer the natural Clay over the 'manufactured' one - red hair, freckles, glasses and all.  The old adage, "beauty is only skin deep" is so true. It's the inner man that we love, admire & respect. As ClayMD & OUTTHERE have suggested, please go back to the main GOT CLAY forum and read the numerous threads there. Each one has posts upon posts of what Clay means to us, why we feel the way we do, and how he's affected all of our lives in ways he'll never understand. He's truly something special in this world of phoniness & 'manufactured' celebrities.
