Happy to see we are still here. Am upset, like everyone else, that we have to lose our home because of some a**hole. Hope karma gets them but good.

Just reading all the talk about "saving pages."  Don't take my word for it, but if you're saving all these pages as "html," I don't believe you're saving anything.  Here's my reason.... if these pages "disappear," there will be nothing to link to...which is what you're saving..links.  Now...I'm not a computer genius or anything close to that, but that's my thinking.  Before you "save" anything more, you might want to ask Michael the best way to go about it..just a suggestion?  I thought about doing it, too, until that realization came to me.   Did I explain that so that it's clearer than mud? 

Anyway...hope everyone is feeling some better today, and if not...SOON (not Clay's "soon" either!).

Anyway...when you open it, does it open in a browser?  If so, that's your clue that it's just a link, not really a document.

Right....but all that "saved" file is doing is linking you right back here.  It's not really saved on your computer, only the web addy is...it's only a link back to this site.  Which means, when these pages disappear, you will click on your link and get "Page cannot be found."

I need a course in how to explain computerese.

I think what Marilyn is saying is that we are only saving the link, not the actual page.  When the site goes, the link won't work.

Okay...Philly...and anyone else....here's how you have to do it:

Pull down File (at the top of the page), select "Edit With Microsoft Office Word"  .. it will paste in Word.

Once it's in Word, you can pull down File in THAT document and save as ...

Change the arrow thing at the bottom of the save window to Microsoft word document...save wherever you want.

You can also edit out the shout box stuff there if you want.

Anyway...if you're ambitious, it works.   The other way does not.

Shirley - Went to the dr. Here's report. It is not the flu, it is a viral infection. The cough and hack , runny nose and tiredness will last from two to three weeks. Just have to tough it out.
