Just coming in from outside - still warm here, but the wind is picking up. Storms are predicted for this afternoon, but maybe they won't be too bad.

Betty - You got better tickets!!! That rates Liz's Claymaniacs dance  Purple Banana Purple Banana Purple Banana Purple Banana Glad, too that you are getting to donate tickets. That makes the concert extra special - especially if you donate to someone who truly needs the help.

Pepe - Hope your corned beef turns out well - I know it will. The boys and I are about to go make a bank deposit. Our new animal shelter is having a membership drive, and the applications are coming back to us - I make a deposit a couple of times a week. (Don't want a lot of money laying around here, even if most of it is in checks). After that, we will come home and stay inside once the weather gets bad! I have no idea what I will cook for supper!

Glory - glad you are feeling better.

Carol - good to see you posting!  Clapping

Off to the bank - see 'ya later!

Good  Afternoon Everyone!

My cousin Randy left early this morning and Mom, Sammy and I have all been taking a long afternoon nap this afternoon!

   GREAT NEWS
RANDY, MOM'S HOME NURSE AND I FINALLY, FINALLY HAVE TALKED MOM TO CUT HER TIES WITH HER PRIMARY DOCTOR!!!!!!! HOME NURSE, JOE, HAS GIVEN MOM A NEW DOCTOR AND WE ARE GOING TO SEE HER ON APRIL 8!!!!!!!!
Mom's feet are so swollen with fluid, she cries as she walks in the house.  The "lovely" Dr. Doom told her two weeks ago, that she was fine and didn't need any fluid pills.  Yesterday, when the home nurse saw her legs, he became bilistic!  He called her cardiologist and had them send out a prescription.
THIS MORNING,  I DROVE TO SAMS AND GOT IT FOR HER.  RANDY HAD TO LEAVE EARLY TO GET HOME BEFORE DARK, SO I WENT MYSELF.  On the way, I had the pleasure of being caught in a hail storm but it stopped before I go to Sam's.

I'm tired, my foot has been elevated since but THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, MOM HAS STARTED THE FLUID PILLS!!!!  Now, tomorrow, she gets her new hearing aids and MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, WE CAN HELP HER  START HEALING ONCE MORE.  I FEEL SO RELIEVED THAT SHE NO LONGER WILL HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THE DR.DOOM!

I have recovered from my nap.  The sun is shining and life is great.

I get my foot looked at on Friday and rewrapped and as soon as he gives me the green light, I'll start cleaning up the house and then take a photo to post of the vanity.  It is gorgeous!

Clapping Clapping That Jennie will not longer have to put up with Dr. Doom! Hope she loves her new doctor. Sounds like she already has a great home nurse. Looking forward to seeing your photos, JoAnn, but rest and take care of your foot first.

Betty - I had to check in here one more time before it is time for you to leave. Again, I hope you have the best Clay concert of your life.

Thought I had better check in here because I may be turning the computer off for the evening soon. Looks like really bad storms in Texas - several torndoes spotted, and golf ball size hail in some areas. Right now, looks like the worst storms will be north of us when they reach Louisiana. But if I don't get back on tonight, you will all know it is wether related. Unless there is another last minute cancellation (again) I am scheduled to go to real estate school tomorrow, too, so I may not be back until Friday!

JOANN, I couldn't be happier that Jennie has a new doctor.  Hope the fluid pills help her, so glad she had a home nurse that takes charge.  They had asked me about having a home nurse but they said  you could only have one if you are unable to leave the house.  I take a water pill the highest mg. but I still have my left foot that swells and my ankle.   Laughing  I am anxious to hear how Jennie likes her new doctor and how the fluid pills work on her. Relax and lay around and let that foot heal real good so  you don't damage it.

FRANKIE, hope all is well there with your weather.  What ever happened at the bank?  Remember they  didn't register your deposit or something like that?

CAROL, good to see you ? Miss your posts.

DUDLEY, hope all is well at  your house.  Bad breathing week have not talked on the phone to anyone as I am saving my oxygen to breath and move around.  Seems this rib I hurt is not wanting me to breath to well.  Thinking of you though.

Good Evening!

We just returned from Soul Food Supper and was it good!!  Roast beef that fell apart, onions and carrots, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad bar, rolls, and dump cake with whipped cream or ice cream for dessert.  This was not like the dump cake I made;  no cherry pie filling but apples in it!

Tomorrow is the Whitlock Club.  The quartet is not scheduled to play, so I get to just sit and enjoy the other performances, then have lunch in the tea room.  Pond Club meeting tomorrow evening and two other ladies are bringing the refreshments.  I will just be "secretary" and read the minutes!

Pepe,
I wish you could find a doctor who could help you to control this pain and strengthen your bones.  I think you would have really enjoyed this meal tonight.  I have been online looking for Big Boy restaurants in Texas.  I think the only one might be in El Paso!  That's quite a ways from here.

JoAnn,
Good news that Jennie has replaced Dr. Doom with another doctor!   Clapping

Frankie,
There was not much to our storms this morning.  They just quickly came through and that was it!

Betty,
Thinking of you as you are starting your train ride soon.  Have a marvelous week!

Carol,
Good to see you posting!

Lolita,
Thinking of you, too!

Sharon,
Have fun at Niagara Falls with your mom and sister.  You know that is a trip I want to make someday!!

I hope everyone has a lovely evening!  Hug

There is a lot of pink and green in this Easter tablescape;  even a pink and green striped tablecloth and green handled silverware.  Chocolate bunnies and candy eggs abound!

A quick post - totrms wern't too bad last night, but we left the computer off just in case. I am out the door in a few minutes - have to drive for an hour to get to continuing education.

Pepe - the bank found our deposit locked in the vault - it had never been processed. Since I had the receipt, they honored the deposit while they searched for it.

dudley - glad you are out and about in your yard. Our day lillies are up, too - I've been meaning to get out and take some photos of the garden for Pepe. We are having fresh broccoli and carrots almost every day.

Sharon - have fun on your trip - hope you win lots of money!

Prissy - have fun today - I am thinking about Betty, too - bet they are almost to Raleigh by now.

Happy Thursday, everyone - see you this evening.

PRISSY,  YUMMMMMMMMM!!!  My goodness the Soul Food Supper sounds wonderful.   I can almost taste it!!!!!  Do you have a big turnout every week.  With the menu's you have I sure wouldn't know why you wouldn't.  I have to get my cookbook out that you had sent me, I know that there was a few dishes I wanted to fix.  Glad your weather didn't get dangerous.  More eating out for you today to look forward too.  You are so lucky Prissy!!!

DUDLEY, always a pleasure and a treat when you post.  I didn't know you had ordered all those plants from QVC.  I would have liked to have ordered the Butterfly Bushes they had but they said they wouldn't do good below 40 Degrees.  I had one in Tennessee I had planted and it had pink, white and purple flowers all on one bush.  It bloomed constantly and I loved it along with the hummingbirds and the butterflies.  You just have to remember to cut it way  back in the late fall.   I am so happy you can get out in your  yard and still plant flowers.

FRANKIE, Glad the bank found their mistake, that is scary though.  Have a safe trip to your class.  Trying to figure out what I want for dinner today.  Either smoked sausage on buns with warm sauerkraut and buttered potatoes, or fix the corn beef, or play like it is summer and make a macaroni salad with tuna/celery/peppers/onions/shredded cheese and leaf lettuce.

Good Morning Everyone!

It's a bright, wonderful day today going up to the mid 60's!  Only planned thing on the agenda today is go to the post office and go get  Mom's new hearing aides!

I go to the podiatrist tomorrow.  Can't wait!  The dressing does need changing!  The boot has worn the  soft part of the dressing off the heel and it looks kind of ragged!  I want to see what the incision looks like.  I am starting to see the bruising where the white lining has worn off.

I'm not surprised that it hasn't given me much trouble.  I'm so fortunate to heal very fast on everything that has gone wrong over the years.  The biggest trouble so far, is the aching of using the boot and crutches.
I will admit, the "extra" walking on it going to Sam's yesterday, did cause me to get a pain pill late yesterday afternoon. I don't have time to stop doing what I have to do. Mom is unable to do the house work, so I just do as much as possible.  I'll know more tomorrow what and when I can do more.
Betty----Hope that your trip is a great one.  Hope they do an audience scan so we can see you during the special when airs.

Pepe---The fluid pill worked great yesterday for Mom. They are still swollen but not as much.  I'm sure that they will be better the more she takes the pill.  Only one a day is allowed.

Frankie--How was your Wednesday weigh in?  Hope everything is in your favor!

Pepe--your dinner plans sound terrific!  It would be a hard choice to choose from.  I did see a recipe for corn beef yesterday and it wasn't that many calories.  I love corn  beef and just  might have to get some next trip to the store. bigsmile  Love boiled cabbage too! bigsmile

Good Morning!

I will get ready and be off soon for the Whitlock Club meeting and lunch in the Tea Room as usual.  I plan to stop by my "ebay" sister on the way home and leave her dolls, etc., to put on ebay.  We will see if anyone is interested in these items!

Yesterday, I made two doctor appointments:  one with the oral surgeon to see about removing the tooth in my upper jaw that has shifted because of removal of its "partner" tooth in my lower jaw    and     the other appointment with an eye surgeon who specializes in cataracts.  I will see what he says about the cataract in my left eye that is causing me to almost have double vision in that eye.

Sharon,
Have fun on your trip.  Love looking at those donuts!

Pepe,
That was the best roast beef I've had in a long time.  Very tender!   I actually brought home my salad and had it later in the evening.  I will "report" on the Tea Room luncheon and Pond Club refreshments today, too.

Dudley,
Amazing you already have flowers blooming.  We are getting close.  Our rose bushes took a beating from the snow, so I hope they will all come back.

Frankie,
I would love to be on that train with Betty.  Sounds like a fun trip.

Hello to all checking in and/or reading and have a Terrific Thursday!  Hug

Another pink and green tablescape!    I remember that the small bowls to the left of the plates had jelly beans and votive candles in them.  Pink gerber daisies and it looks like placed in the goblets, white napkins with pink and green floral napkins that match the dinnerware.  Again, this one was a little unusual, I thought, but interesting.

Good Afternoon All,

It's already 12:45 and we haven't left the house yet.  I just can't wait to have my foot rewrapped tomorrow or what ever he decides to do.  It doesn't hurt at all until I put on the boot, then it throbs up the entire leg.  The wrap binding has completely fallen off the heel and that is part of the problem.  I put a piece of  "fake" sheep skin padding in the boot to see if that helps.  As soon as we get home, the boot is coming off!  At least it isn't swelling at all. The boot buckles, all 3, also strap together on the left side at that is the other reason the boot hurts.  The surgery was on the left side.

Prissy--Really have enjoyed the tablescapes.  I'm going to start looking for new "spring" table runners and perhaps colorful chargers as soon as I'm allowed to walk fully on the boot.  I learned my lesson yesterday going to WalMart walking just for that short time with the boot, made my leg ache.

Mom is almost dressed.  She is excited about going to get her new ear pieces!

Pepe--She took  her 2nd pill today for fluid and it helped once again.  Maybe they won't swell so much tonight even though they did last night.  She is able to walk around the house much more today then the last few days.

JOANN, tell Jennie when she is sitting down or to lay on the couch to prop her feet up high on pillows to get the swelling to go down while she is sitting, that is what I have to do.  Isn't it funny or not funny but darn odd that all the different doctors Jennie goes to and she still has all these problems.  I don't even know what to think anymore.  Hubby doesn't know what to do with me either or where to go like he said  I am not getting any better.  Not being able to walk at all with out the walker to hang on to is almost worse than the lung problem.  No one knows what is going on with the joints and hip. So if you don't know how do you fix it.  Doctors seem to  play guessing games to much.
