HE'S KILLING ME!!!!!!

« Reply #580 on: March 17, 2010, 02:13:54 PM »

I AM IN THE FAMILY WAITING ROOM.  BEEN HERE ALL DAY.  WELL, SINCE NOON.  ANYWAY, WE ARE WAITING TO GET TO SEE BARRY.  THE DOCTOR SAID HE CAME THROUGH SURGERY FINE.  THAT ONE DISK WAS A MESS AND HAD TO BE TRIMMED AS WELL AS TAKING OUT THE LAMMINA BONES. SO, I AM RELIEVED BUT WON'T BE FINE UNTIL I SEE AND TALK TO HIM.

YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS HELPED A LOT.  MORE LATER.

THEA, just read your post about your DIL.  How wonderful she has found employment.  I know thru your posts they have had a really tough time of it and the first year they have been married to have to go thru all of this.  Hope they enjoy their new positions and just have a wonderful  year ahead of them.  They will appreciate everything that much more I am sure.

Checking in on Barry. So happy everything has gone well.  If I was closer I would have a nice dinner waiting for Gwenn when she got home from the hospital.

GWENN, so happy to see you checking in!  Huggles We're pulling for Barry that this surgery was a complete success!!!

PEPE, thank you for your kind words of support for my "kids".  They have certainly learned a lot about life this past year and are grateful to hopefully move on to enjoy life a bit more.  I know that once they get settled and back on their feet financially they are hoping so much to start a family.  Of course Phil and I are hoping for that, as well!   bigsmile

BTW, PEPE, I'm so in awe of the way you are coping with all of your health problems.  Please know that I continue to hope and pray that you will be able to stay strong and positive.

I am off to cook supper.  Since we ate corned beef/cabbage/carrots/potatoes at a restaurant yesterday, this evening we're having some grilled chicken.  It's absolutely a perfect day to grill outside!!!

So very glad we've heard the good news from you Gwenn...continuing to send you all my prayers...and while I'm at it, may I also ask for prayers for my sister and brother in law...we completed a round of doctor's visits yesterday...

...a little context, they have undergone huge life stressors in the last couple of years...they lost their house after my brother in law was dismissed from his job (which happened within two days of his returning to work after his dad died)...and then the law suit that he filed failed to bring financial compensation...they were overdue on their physicals ...it had been two years...

On the way to these appointments, my sister mentioned three new symptoms...she has several health concerns...heart palpitations, a couple of instances where it was difficult for her to talk...her tongue seemed thick...and difficulty catching her breath with a hearty laugh.  This was all news to me...and after we completed seeing the doctor...who happens to be very thorough...he was checking my brother in laws EKG...and noticed a significant change...his heartbeat is erratic...goes from 70 to 120...and used the term atrial fribulation...sp? ...his heart doesn't compress properly... my brother in law had been dismissing being short of breath in some instances...and some dizziness...and he didn't realize how off his pulse was.  We had to immediately leave for a cardiac consult...and he was given an echo test...more tests to follow...and put on comidin...sp? asap.  Our primary physician told not to drive over to this cardiac specialist...but my sister let him drive home...over an hour on the freeway...go figure!

My brother in law has always been on hand to help our family...he's quite the traditional male...macho...and all that that means...for the first time I saw real vulnerability...after he first got the news...then the macho shield came right back up within an hour or so...

Neither of them realize how serious this diagnosis is...or the full impact of my sister's recent symptoms...golly...a sobering day for sure...glad to have had the chance to share it with you all...my Clay fan family...especially since I can not speak to the significance of all of this news with them or their daughters.

Clapping Clapping Clapping for Thea's DIL and for GWENN's hubby. I've just gone to the Juke Box Tour Thread and saved my Meet and Greet Threads to my computer. If you do not know how to do this, or if you do not have room on your computer, please p.m. me and I will save a special thread for you - just give me the name of the thread and where it can be located.

The way you make me feel

« Reply #586 on: March 17, 2010, 05:24:50 PM »

Gwenn - So glad Barry came through the surgery well.  Prayers and best wishes will stay with him as he goes through his recovery.

Thea - Great news about your DIL.  Just look at it this way,  they have survived a difficult first year so they have a strong foundation to be able to handle the many things that life hands us.

Johanna - my prayers and best wishes to your sister and BIL.  I worked with a man that had atrial fibralation and he refused to take coumadin.  After trying several medications without complete success, he heard about some type of surgery being done in SC and had the operation.  That was several years ago and I still see him from time to time and he is doing great.  His son had the same problem in his early 40s and had the same surgery.  I hope your BIL follows through on this and listens to the doctors because it is treatable.

So good to see all of these posts over here on CM!

GWENN, so happy to hear that Barry's back to being "ANNOYING"!   Clapping  Laughing  Now tell Louie and Sammie they will have to take a back seat to their daddy Barry for the time being!!!

JOHANNA, I am so sorry to hear about both your sister and BIL?  It seems that when it rains, it pours.  I'm so hoping and praying that these heart conditions can be straightened out with meds or some simple procedure.  BTW, they are so fortunate to have somebody so loving and caring as you in their corner.   Huggles

BARBARA, thank you for your kind comments about my son and DIL. Huggles  Yes, you are so right about all of these problems strengthening their relationship.  I can tell just by the conversations I've had with them over the past several months that they have grown even closer and more devoted to one another.

FRANKIE, thank you so much for your good wishes, too.  And thank you and all of the others for all of the hard work you have been doing to prepare the transfer of  some of the threads over to our future home.  Huggles

Well, since I'm a glutton for punishment, I think I'm going to watch  the AI Results show tonight!   Laughing

It was good news coming here and finding that Barry did well in surgery..Now the work for Gwenn will begin, but I have no doubt she will be an excellent nurse.

Congratulations to Thea, that is such great news..It is very fortunate for anyone to find employment nowdays, with the economy in the shape its in right now, so I know you are all very happy.

Did Mikki get moved? Has anyone heard from her? I hope that everything went smoothly for her

Thanks again for all that are working so diligently, in getting us ready to move.

Just a short report on Ruth. She got the report back from the biopsy on the removed leg..The growth was 75% dead, and 25% still active, and the Dr said, that the chemo had helped to some extent. The Dr assured them that she had made the right decision in removing the leg.
She is doing very well in rehab, is eating good, and is hopping all over the place..Moose said she is getting up and going to rehab on her own, without any assistance.
This is all wonderful news, and if she continues to do well has a release date to go home of the 25th.

Good news all the way around .It would be great if there wasn't all the problems with the Board.
We've just had a wonderful concert, and news of upcoming concerts, and the PBS special to look forword too so its a shame that we had this bump in the road, but I'm sure that everything will work out.

Good morning.  Off to the health club in a few.  Getting addicted to exercise is the first good thing I've done for myself in a very long time!

GWENN, hope Barry continues to recuperate well.  Try to grab some sleep, OK?  And thanks for the congrats...I know you had already left me a big "Mazel Tov" on FB.   Huggles

MARLENE, hooray for Ruth!     What an amazing, resilient and courageous woman she is.  And thanks...yup, in this economy getting a decent job is something to cheer about, for sure!  I'm just so grateful that the newlyweds are finally catching some breaks.

I would like to be able to save The Pet Thread, which I started so many years ago right before Clay's first tour;  unfortunately I'm clueless as to how to go about this.  I tried saving a couple of pages last night, and nearly pulled my hair out, so I guess that's that for The Pet Thread.  I plan to start up a Pet Thread, Pt. II on the new website!

Gotta go.....I need to work off the Culver's strawberry sundae I had last night at 9:00.  Phil is all too willing to go out on these late evening "missions of mercy".  Naughty

Did anyone on our board try for tickets to the Reno concert?

The gals at the CV seemed to have had good luck in getting good tickets.

Johanna, Did you get a ticket?

THEY DID NOT SEND HIM HOME.  THEY CANNOT SEEM TO MANAGE HIS PAIN.  THE PHYSICAL THERAPIST OVERDID IT THIS MORNING AND NOW HIS MUSCLES AND SCIATIC NERVE ARE REACTING.  THEY WERE SO SORE FROM THE PAIN BEFORE THE SURGERY AND NOW THEY ARE GIVING HIM A LOT OF PAIN.  HE IS BEYOND UPSET AND SO AM I.  I PLAN ON DRINKING A BOTTLE OF WINE AND GOING TO SLEEP.  SEEING HIM IN SO MUCH PAIN STILL BROKE MY HEART.  I CANNOT STAND IT.

Gwenn--So sorry to hear about your husband's pain.   I hope that he starts feeling better as soon as possible.

Mimi---I'm going to Reno!  I tried Ticket Master the moment they opened without any luck.  I just ended up calling the Casino's 800 number 4 hours later and I bought a single ticket Sec.F Row 7 Seat 1.  She said that it is an aisle  seat closet to the stage instead of the wall!  I'm going by myself, so hope to meet many new Clay friends.
