OH WELL CRAP! CLAY'S NOT NOMINATED AGAIN!

HERE ARE THE NOMINATIONS!

GRAMMY'S

WELL, AT LEAST ADELE WAS NOMINATED, I REALLY LIKE HER.

Well I'm glad I checked in here first before I wasted my time watching the darn whole show! Oh well Philly we'll just have to keep hoping

I like Adele too and Duffy as well. I have both of their albums, so either one of those would be good.

You can call me cappy. I think I'll go have a cry about Clay and I am really mad.
I see that someone elses Christmas album has made it on the list. Funny how Clay's never even got a nod back when it was the biggest seller.  Evidently these people don't know what good music is.

Cappy... Huggles

Unfortunely, I believe the music industry has natural biasis against Clay.  Not sure if he'll ever get the credit he richly deserves.

Jules, at Least Adele was nominated!  How are you?

I knew Clay wouldn't get nominated for NUTTIN!!!!  So I watched a PBS station in Chicago, WTTW.  They are playing a "Great Performances" show during their pledge drive.  It's a tribute to David Foster.  He's talking to the people who call in to pledge on the phone.  Wonder if any Claymates called.  Laughing  (toni7babe? are you out there?)

It was a pretty good show--William Joseph, Andrea Boccelli, Brian McKnight, Baby Face, Kathrine McPhee, Josh Groban.  Right now Brian McKnight and Josh Groban are singing BOTW.

Fran,  how did Brian and Josh do with BOTW?

Beautiful.  Brian McKnight is even better than Josh!

Also Baby Face sang with his brother, who is just as talented as he is.

BTW I like duffy alot too.  I don't think I've ever heard Adele.

Cappy, Ms. Phyl, Philly, Jules ~ I am convinced that this is not Clay's time.  He will be appreciated 5 or 10 years from now when public opinion has come full circle and the many events of the past 5 years can be put into perspective.  That's if he hangs in there that long.

But look at singers like Tony Bennet and Rick Springfield.  Some of these singers are so old that they're new again.  They've had multiple dips and resurgences in their careers.  Frank Sinatra won a talent contest which started his career but not that long after he was almost washed up, until he did one of those war movies, and that turned everything around for him.

So anyway, I believe that it is all a waiting game and that eventually Clay will get the recognition that he deserves.  No matter what, his talent can't be denied.  (But it would help if he would settle down a little now and lead a quiet, low key life and stay out of the headlines for a while.  JMHO.   Laughing )

Morning!!!!!   wave

But look at singers like Tony Bennet and Rick Springfield.  Some of these singers are so old that they're new again.

Careful Fran, I am 10 months older than Rick Springfield!!!    ROFLMAO  But let me tell ya he does a rockin' show, have seen him twice just this last year and would be more than happy to go see him again.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!    Rick Springfield is older than I thought!!!!

But then Mick Jagger looks older than Methuselah, so I guess age is just a number.

This has been quoted so many times that I don't know where it originally came from, but I found it at CV.

So...I was fortunate to get to meet David Foster tonight at my PBS station -- he was here for the pledge drive.

What a lovely man, and so friendly. Asked me my name, used it a lot. After a little discussion of some of the artists he's produced and written for, he insisted I go get my camera. While I was gone, my boss -- who had accompanied me -- clearly busted me as a Clay fan, because when I returned, he freely talked about Clay and Jaymes and Parker, asked how I was with all of the things that had happened with Clay this year (the coming out, the baby, etc.). I was, to say the least, surprised that he seemed to care so much about my opinion. I have to say that he was VERY complimentary of Clay, an extremely doting uncle concerning Parker, and beaming with pride when he talked about all of them. What a treat to get to spend time with him...he wanted to show me a current photo of Parker but couldn't find one fast enough on his phone before he had to go into makeup. Dang. I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't that!
