I would not keep going back to TMZ tho. Don't give them hits. Use the clackunlimited site provided on Critical Mass, then right click and save as...

I agree to a point. Good for him for not taking it. He hit a breaking point and they are discussing very personal stuff. He is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.
But he and we need to be prepared now. This is going to be all over the websites and talk shows. (At least the rumors and crap 2 years ago wasn't so mainstream.) TMZ will be all over him more than before because they got a reaction that they wanted and will hope for more.
It's like Britney running over the photographer's foot with her car. He deserved it because they were all over her, but they got great footage and continued to show it and show it. Getting smacked down is not going to stop them. It only fuels them more.
I'm not saying that the tabloid media is right. I'm not agreeing with it. I'm not saying that Clay was wrong or judging him. Just saying that it is the way that our sick world works.

This is just MY opinion, but I have to totally disagree with everyone.
Clay's Momma raised him better than that. You don't go shovin', pushin', or hittin' someone just because you don't like what they are sayin'.
He needs to learn to control that temper.
JUST MY OPINION! Okay!
Carry on!

It's okay Beth,
You have a right to your opinion...
I think his next move should be getting a restraining order against TMZ!

Thanks
That makes me feel better. I am aware that my opinion might not be the correct one, but at least I am entitled to it!
It seems like everyone wants Clay to make some sort of statement. My feeling is that, if Jaymes is not making any statement until after the baby is born, than neither will Clay.
Now I see why Clay moved back to NC. I can't even imagine what the paps would do to him if he were still in LA

Beth, there is no such thing as a correct opinion. Everybody has one and that is the great thing about it. We share our thoughts.

Good for Clay giving TMZ the smack down. I'm sure he'll catch flack for it. Just like he does for everything else.
Beth, I understand you're point of view. Clay's mama didn't raise him like that. Everyone reaches their breaking point, and I guess that was Clay's. Can't say I blame him though.

Does anyone else think that if this were anyone else in the public eye that the media wouldn't have a problem with it? I think that because Clay's always been "singled out" that more people seem to have a problem with it.

Whenever I hear about someone smackin' the paparazzi (sp?), I think of Sean Penn or Jack Nickolson, or someone like that. I sure hope that Clay isn't portrayed that way!

I think he's singled out because he's good person that doesn't disgrace anyone.
We're in a gossip society that need to build up a personality to tear it down quickly...

I think Clay is a target , in part, because he's a challenge to the tabloids. He won't play the game.

Hello everyone,
I watched the "smackdown" video and as far a celebrity smacking down a paparazzi, that was pretty tame. I'm thankful they didn't get any sound bites with it. As far as I can tell, he didn't say anything to them. And even if I agree that TMZ loves any response, even a negative one, I certainly can't blame Clay for having a totally human response. We have no idea of all the things he has to go through on a daily basis, and even though that is a part of being a celebrity, it doesn't mean he isn't going to let his feelings show on occasion.

Hi all
Beth
~ Just curious. How would you have liked to see him respond? From what I saw it looked like he might be trying to get into the car and that guy was in the way, and so if he pushed him a little harder than he needed to...
We've all been begging for a response from him and the way I see it, this IS one. Subject to interpretation but still, at least its not nuthin'.
