Listening to Ashes right now.  I guess the best way to desribe it is that it's song about gathering the pieces after a bad relationship.   I'm going to be honest,  this is the weakness song for me.

Funny, I think of Jimmy Kimmel with that song!  Laughing

No, seriously I think it's about the relationship with high maintenance kind of a person too demanding and never happy with anything that partner does in the relationship.

Clay's Dreamlover

I love the song "You're Everything I Don't Need"  I love it when he says "get out of my bed"  I can't explain it, I just love the sound of his voice - he gets a little angsty and I love angsty Clay.

Hi Lori!   wave  This is my very fav song and I think it's DEFINITELY one that's personal to Clay.  He'd never admit it, but the way he emotes speaks volumns.   The angst simply grabs your heart and it feels VERY REAL.   I think this is why so many of his fans wish this one had been on the AC rotation as a single.  It's pure Clay... and he's sharing a part of himself that we'd never get to see otherwise.  JMO.

Well, to me  "Falling" is the song that could be a megahit, if it ever gets radio play...

Maybe he's thinking that he can't wait to get out of there because he really needs to use the little boys room!  ROFLMAO

You may be right Beth.... OR perhaps he was considering what to have for lunch?!  So much for being introspective.

The way you make me feel

Hi Everyone

Sorry I am late but I had unexpected company drop in that I hadn't seen for a long time.

EVERYTHING I DON'T NEED is one of the songs on the CD that I absolutely love.  If it is possible to wear a rut in a CD, I have probably done it with that one.  At work I put the CD player on repeat and listen to it over and over.

Of course, I love the whole CD - all the songs are different in their own right and the lyrics are very meaningful.

BEAUTIFUL JOB

Me too!  It's my favorite song.  But still don't understand why some critics think this as a country song.

When we first heard the little snippets of each song, I thought Ashes was my favorite.  I'm glad that I was wrong, I like all of the others even more than Ashes  Super Happy!!!.

My grandson came in for a visit and told me he heard Clay on WRAL FM MIX101.5 (Raleigh) today so I checked their roster ,and he was played at 5:03pm,and is listed at 155.
Of course, they play Daughtery & Carrie almost every hour....

I really like Everything I Don't Need...I like when he sings well,well...& every THANG...but I have said it before I LOVE this CD

Where I Draw the Line was written by a country singer and when he sings it on his Myspace page it has a very "country" feel.  There's one other song on the CD that was written by a country songwriter too, but I can't remember which right now.
