Clay's Fiddlin' Poet

« Reply #40 on: May 10, 2007, 04:05:45 AM »

Thea,

We will get to meet after all!!  JoAnn, her mom, Jennie, Skip and I all have tickets to the Knoxville concert.

Clandy and/or Meesa,
Now, what hotel was decided upon?    Did we find one with a Clay discount?  I have AARP, AAA, and Military memberships that usually have discounts;  also the Entertainment book lists hotels, too.   It would be fun to stay where most are staying.

Also, any preparty information, too.

To the list, add,

JoAnn (and her mom, Jennie)
Prissy (and hubby, Skip)

Hugs,
Prissy

Clandy,

I was able to make a reservation at the Holiday Inn - Papermill in Knoxville for two rooms: one for JoAnn and her mom, Jennie, and  one for Skip and me!   I tried Government, AAA and AARP rates,  but the  Entertainment Card rate was the best for us;  $56 a room!

I'm really looking forward to seeing all of you!! wheee  Clay, too!!

Hugs,
Prissy

I HAVE FOUND A NEAT RESTAURANT FOR THE PRE-PARTY FOR KNOXVILLE.
ITS CALLED DOWNTOWN GRILL & BREWERY - AND ITS TWO BLOCKS FROM THE TENNESSEE THEATRE.
I SPOKE TO JESSICA AND THEY HAVE A BANQUET ROOM SET ASIDE FOR US.
THEN I SPOKE TO DAVID THE CHEF AND HE CAN DO ONE OF THREE THINGS

PASTA BUFFET-$10.95 EACH
INCLUDES 2 TYPES OF PASTA -ONE IS ALFREDO WITH PENNE PASTA AND GRILLED CHICKEN, THEN THEY HAVE PASTA PIZZA, GARLIC BREAD, ETC. SODA IS INCLUDED

FAJITA BUFFET- $10.95 EACH
INCLUDES MESQUITE GRILL CHICKEN WITH PORTOBELLO MUSHROOMS, RICE, BEEF, TORTILLA, ETC. SODA IS INCLUDED

HE WILL ALSO DO A THIRD OPTION WHICH WILL BE 5 SELECTIONS OF THE MENU- FISH, CHICKEN, STEAK, PASTA AND ONE OTHER. THEY WILL PRINT UP A BRIEF MENU AND PUT IT BY EACH PLATE AND WE CAN CHOOSE WHATEVER OPTION WE WANT. THE PRICE WILL BE A LITTLE MORE BUT ITS STILL REASONABLE. I HAVE TENTATIVELY BOOKED THE ROOM FOR THE 12TH FROM 3-6:00 PM WHICH WILL GIVE EVERYONE A CHANCE TO GO FRESHEN UP BEFORE THE SHOW.

HERE IS A LINK TO THE RESTAURANT

http://www.downtownbrewery.com/index.html

FEEDBACK PLEASE- SHALL WE TAKE A VOTE ON WHICH MENU TO CHOOSE???

Thanks Marilyn.  Looks like a cool place.  I would be fine with either the pasta buffet or the mini menu option.

Just "talked" to Heather via email, whatever the majority wants is fine with her.  She is knee deep in the Women's Open which is just a week away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marilyn,

We are partial to both Mexican and Italian so we will go with the majority;  or the mini menu!!  Thanks for finding a place close by with a reasonably priced menu.

I think I'm in the minority, because the Fajita Buffet sounds GREAT to me!!!  The mini menu sounds fine, too.  But I will go along with whatever the majority decides.   bigsmile

Thanks, Marilyn!!!  Huggles

Woody is not on the list of people going to Knoxville in the first post.

Woody, can you or Clandy add you to the list?

I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone at this concert.  And what a beautiful theater!!

Yeh, that's weird. It shows up on my computer, but Pamela said the same thing.  Don't know why pictures are blocked.  Been in the wilderness for the last 10 days and didn't realise the problem.  Tried to repost but PhotoBucket seems to be re- formatted (or I have a computer bug).

It was just a picture of the entrance of the Tennesee Theatre.

Post Script: I think I fixed my problem. You should now see a picture of the Tennesee Theatre exterior on my previous post.rFingers Crossed Fingers Crossed Fingers Crossed
