I love musicals but unfortunately they don't come here too often. There are the Dallas Summer musicals but that is several hours away. I've gone to a few of those. I've also seen some in London. If I lived closer, I would go more. I also love to watch the Tony awards to get a sense of the theater and Broadway.

Look, I found him. Can I keep him?

Well, I'm keeping him on my desktop, so I guess you can too, if you don't mind sharing.

This pic is on my desktop at work right now.  Smile

And yes, I'll be gentle. At least I'll try.

Clandy, do you want to come up and see "Wicked" with me and Beth.  It would be a nice winter outing?

Its a possibility.  Is it playing now?  When would we go?  Is Beth planning on coming back to Chicago again soon?
I don't know yet--these are all questions that remain to be answered.  I just now put it out there as a brainstorm.  But it sounds like fun to me.  I'll go look it up right now.
It's an open run--tickets are on sale now thru May 6th.  Matinees on Weds, Sats and Suns, $32-$90.

Where is it playing?  What is an 'open run'?  I'm not a big musical buff but I would like to see 'Wicked'.  Thanks for the info!  Lick

Krista ~ I guess you can keep him for the day...just be GENTLE and have fun!
Open run means it will be there indefinately.  It's playing at the Oriental Theatre in Chicago.  You could stay here if you want and my husband could drive us down, we could have dinner downtown too.  Or, if you're feeling like living it up, we could stay in a hotel nearby.  It's a good show for kids too (so I'm told--I haven't seen it) maybe your husband and son would like it.  Lick

How often and under what circumstances do you come?
Maybe you could join the Wicked party?

Krista can you find me the picture of little "Oklahoma" Clay?

When he was in "Oklahoma"? I don't have that one. I bet someone can find it. Or when I have more time later.

I've been to Chicago twice. Once I rode on a train (which is a whole, long story) and spent 3 days. Got to go to a Cubs game (my favorite team) and tour the city. The other time was to see Clay for JNT04. Spent 2 days (1 of which was in a line at the Borders to get his autograph. Right Clandy?  Wink)
I love Chicago and have enjoyed the times I have gone. If Clay performs in the area this summer, that is a possibility.  Smile

And I love the gif that you posted for me.  :fan Thanks.

That's our boy! I used to have the Oklahoma pic but sadly it got deleted when I had to purge my office files once.  The clip of his performance is adorable.

Criminy, 5 days before Christmas you were doing that?  You're a better woman than I am.  or maybe that means you're a better Clay fan than I am.

Hi all!  I just want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers today.  I'm home now, completely exhausted, both physically and mentally.  I'm not sure how things went today - not that I was expecting to know anything - they said my doctor would be in touch.  The waiting is the hardest, however, I do feel a sense of relief that the procedure has been done so we can at least find out what's going on and deal with it if necessary.

Anyhow, thank you all.  I will keep you posted.   I am off to have a nap now but might be back later.
