Clay walked all the way down past the line till he got to the end of the line and started there. When he was going by them or right before he got to them, he looked up at the line and said "lawd Jesus"!! He was so surprised how long it was.

I KNOW THE CELLCERT IS OVER, BUT THIS IS JUST SO WONDERFUL OF CLAY THAT I HAD TO POST THE REACTIONS!

LOVIN' the glasses!  They look new too.  I loved his last rimless pair he wore to the Billboard awards.  I'm glad he went back to those!  Can't wait to see a frontal face shot.  bigsmile

Just copying and pasting what I wrote in the OCD ...

I'm really just writing on a whim here. I'm going to kind of write in reverse order, I do believe.

I wish I could say I'm in a Clay fog because of his singing, but I really can't stop thinking about how warm and soft his hand was when it shook mine. It was less than a second, but that was more than enough time to take my breath away. When I saw the 300 or so people waiting for him, I just knew there was no way he would shake all of our hands. To be honest, I had visions of waiting in the freezing cold for two and a half hours after the Baltimore JNT04 concert only to find out they took him out the front door. But, Clay didn't disappoint. Smile I've never seen so many people move so quickly before in my life. When Jerome said form a straight line, that's what we did. Laughing At first we thought we'd get to walk past Clay, but all of a sudden he appeared from the side stage door (couldn't tell you what he was wearing, but his pants were orange) and was escorted to the back of the line (as he said, "These people have guns!")

He went through the line so quickly I didn't have time to do anything. In retrospect, I wish I had looked at his face when he was close, but I was concentrating on his hand touching mine. Thud! Thankfully, I was standing right beside Love of my Life from CV and had someone to EEEEEEE! with afterward.

The concert was great. Clay was in rare form, as always. There were points where I laughed so hard I almost couldn't breathe. The lady who answered the word of the day was sitting right in front of me. You didn't hear this from me, but she cheated and asked the guy in front of her what it meant - he was the one who Clay said cheated because he plays in an orchestra. lmao Honestly, when she told him what it meant, I really had to stifle my laughter (yes, I have a dirty mind); however, when the ladies in front of me cracked up, I just let loose.

Right before DSIAFCD, he ran his fingers through his hair. You could hear the collective "Ohs" (moans, if you will) from a lot of the women. Have to admit, I was one of them. Goodness, I really didn't think it could get any better. Of course, then he dropped his mic and just projected the last words of DSIAFCD and I turned into a pile of mush. A big pile. GAH!! It makes me weepy just to think about it.

Just some odds and ends ...

~I was very fortunate to meet a lot of CV members and went for drinks with some after the concert. They were all wonderful people! That's what I love about Clay fans. You can go to concerts by yourself and walk away with several new friends.

~I also got to see klins (Donna). She and I met in Youngstown last year and we just happened to attend the same pre party and sit one row apart last night. It was funny because each of us kept looking at the other and saying, "I know her!" It wasn't until intermission that we finally made the connection.

~Everywhere we went (the hotel, the bar, the venue), the staff members were more than accommodating. When I checked in at the Genetti yesterday afternoon, the front desk was even playing MCWL. To be honest, I'm not sure they knew what to make of all of us. Even the staff and police officers at the buses were just watching in amazement.

~If you ever travel to Williamsport, I would highly recommend Franco's, an Italian restaurant and bar. We pretty well closed the place down last night and the people were so friendly and actively engaged us, even though I'm sure they wanted to go home.

So, that's my story. I don't really have any pictures. Clay really favored the left hand side of the stage last night, so he was pretty far away. Even when he was at center stage, the spotlight really killed any opportunity I had for a decent shot. I know I do have a few that turned out, but they'll be grainy because I had to set my shutter speed at 800, which forced the quality of the picture to be lower. Oh well!

Here are the craptastic shots I got ... all five of them.

~~In the elevator at the Genetti. Forgive the bluriness. It was 2 a.m. and I was sooo tired.

~~That is just the front of the line! There was at least another 1/2 - 1 block of people behind me.

Just got back from the most wonderful Clay experience!  This concert was possibly my most favorite one yet!  What a reception he received!  And I'd say at least 65 to 70 percent of the venue were people who had never seen Clay before! I dont know how many standing O's he received.  I lost count.  It was just so amazing, and it really made me feel good!  The two people checking coats (a man and a woman) were so thrilled that he was there.  She said "we've been waiting so long for him"!  Neither one had seen him before.  They were allowed to stand in the back for the show.  They LOVED him!!!!  I believe Clay made many new fans last night.  Even the orchestra loved him.....he interacted with them, and he couldn't say enough nice things about them.  I think they appreciated that.  There was a young girl (a violin player, I believe, that he called over to explain the "word of the day".  Too Cute!   I never heard him sound better.....ever!  His voice has definitely matured.....it's richer!  It was a magical night, that's all I can say!  I originally wasn't going to this concert, because I thought it was too far to travel for just "a few songs".  Well, I'm certainly glad Gwenn and Marion and Jill changed my mind!  Clay was on for an hour and a half!  The venue was beautiful, and the acoustics were top notch!  And, it was really nice to see the town of Williamport support the arts!  It's a lovely little town!

lovinclay - I am so glad to hear you say that driving a long way was worth it to see this concert! I'm feeling a little guilty about making my husband drive 14-16 hours each way to see Clay sing for one hour - during Christmas Week -  (that's what he gets for asking me what I wanted for Christmas!  Laughing ), but you've made me feel better. I hope my husband thinks it was worth the trip, too!!!

HE'S KILLING ME!!!!!!

MICKI DID A GOOD JOB.  HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS.

WHAT I LOVED THE MOST ABOUT THIS CONCERT WAS THE FACT THAT, FOR THE FIRST TIME, IT WAS NOT JUST ABOUT US.  THERE WERE A LOT, A WHOLE LOT OF FIRST TIMERS.  AND THEY GAVE HIM A STANDING O.  THEY WERE OVERWHELMED BY CLAY.  THEY WERE SURPRISED AND AWED.  LET'S FACE IT.  WE ARE EASY.

I ALMOST DIED WHEN HE CAME OUT WITH GLASSES.  FUNNY THING--MICKI, JILL, AND MARION, ALL LOOKED AT ME-ALMOST IN UNISON-WHEN HE WALKED OUT.  I HAVE MADE IT QUITE CLEAR THAT I DON'T LIKE GLASSES ON ANYONE AND I DON'T LIKE THEM ON CLAY.  I CANNOT SEE HIS EYES.  WITH MY VISION, I DON'T NEED ANY OBSTRUCTIONS.  BUT HE LOOKED SO ADORABLE THAT I SOON GOT OVER THE GLASSES.  FOCUSED ON LIPS AND CHEEKBONES.  AND WELL FITTING PANTS.    blush

HE NEVER SOUNDED BETTER.  HIS VOICE IS BECOMING MORE AND MORE RICH.  BTW--HE REALLY ISN'T FOND OF BEING 28.   Naughty lmao bigsmile  THE ACOUSTICS WERE WONDERFUL.

WHAT IS ALSO SO INCREDIBLE IS THAT JILL AND I SAW HIM JUST 3 DAYS BEFORE IN BALTIMORE AND WE BOTH AGREED THAT THE SHOW FELT COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.  WHEN PEOPLE ASK HOW YOU CAN SEE THE SAME SHOW OVER AND OVER, THIS MADE IT CLEAR.  IT REALLY ISN'T THE SAME.  SAME SONGS, BUT NOT SUNG THE SAME WAY.  DIFFERENT SNARK.  DIFFERENT FEEL IN THE VENUE.  DIFFERENT.  NOT BETTER ONE PLACE OR ANOTHER.  JUST DIFFERENT.

I LOVE HIM MORE AND MORE.  I WILL MISS HIM TERRIBLY WHEN THIS TOUR IS OVER.  HE HAS TO TOUR AGAIN SOON---NOT HIS VERSION OF SOON.
