Okay, y'all - here's yet another fun pop culture game.  Mostly.     My sisters and I used to play it all the time when we were stuffed into the back seat of our parents' Volkswagon Bug for four hours while we drove to Idaho.  You can only stare out the window at so many potato fields, ya know!

It's simple but fun.

I'll give ya a few lines from a TV show theme song (an old show or a current one, doesn't matter, just don't use some obscure show no one else has ever seen.  LOL) and whoever fills in the blanks and guesses the show goes next!

Ready?

An oldie but a goodie.  Kind of.

Ya take the good,
Ya take the bad,
Ya take them both
and there ya have.

I didn't guess the answer, but can I do one?

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got
TAking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot
Wouldn't you like to get away......

(Do I have to give more of it?)

ROFL!  Easy?  For the girl from Salt Lake City, it is!  Home of the Osmonds.

That's from The Donny & Marie Show.  Oh yeah, Puppy Love and purple socks!   Laughing

Okay ...

She was working at a bridal shop in Flushing, Queens,
when her boyfriend kicked her out
in one of those crushing scenes...  Blah blah blah

She was there to sell make up,
but the father saw more.
She had style,
she had flair,
She was there!
That's how she became ___ _____!

The Nanny????

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale--
A tale of a fateful trip
That started at this Tropical port
Aboard this tiny ship

The mate was a mightly sailing man
The skipper brave and sure....................

Gilligan's Island

Who can turn the world on with her smile?
Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?
Well it's you girl, and you should know it
With each glance and every little movement you show it

Love is all around, no need to waste it
You can have a town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're gonna make it after all

How will you make it on your own?
This world is awfully big, girl this time you're all alone
But it's time you started living
It's time you let someone else do some giving

Love is all around, no need to waste it
You can have a town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're gonna make it after all

Hey that was very good one. But it would be the theme from "THAT GIRL!"\Ok here is one the show had now actual words to the song, but these are the words that went with the music.

Sucide is dangerous
It can bring on many changes\
But I can take or leave it if I try.

The following had no lyrics sung as the theme of this early popular sitcom, but the theme was sung in at least one of the shows.

I L ___ L___ and she loves me,
We're as happy as two can be,
sometimes we quarrel but then
How we love making up again.

L ___ kisses like no one can,
She's my missus and I'm her man;
And life is heaven you see
Cause I L___ L___
Yes I L___ L___
and L___ loves me.

Well Prissy I am pretty sure that is  a song that was sung on I Love Lucy. I love Lucy and Lucy loves me. Hope I am right here is one that I hope you all got in the US

Here's _________ what a happy soul since the day he lost his strings
He call laugh he can dance he can fly
Do anything he tries
But never, never never ever ever should he ever tell a lie.

That should be pretty easy one too. Kim'

I'm guessing Pinocchio??  I don't think I've heard this before.  In case I'm right, here's another early TV show theme:

Meet Cathy, who's lived most everywhere,
From Zanzibar to Barclay Square.
But Patty's only seen the sight.
A girl can see from Brooklyn Heights --
What a crazy pair!

But they're cousins,
Identical cousins all the way.
One pair of matching bookends,
Different as night and day.

Where Cathy adores a minuet,
The Ballet Russes, and crepe Suzette,
Our Patty loves to rock and roll,
A hot dog makes her lose control --
What a wild duet!

Still, they're cousins,
Identical cousins and you'll find,
They laugh alike, they walk alike,
At times they even talk alike --

You can lose your mind,
When cousins are two of a kind.

I know the show it was with Patty Duke but the name of it is not coming to me at the moment. But you give me a chance I will come up with it. I am on my way to get the kids breakfest and then on to school to volunteer  but when I come back I will have the name of that show. I do not think I ever saw it, but I will get the name, of it somehow, By the way you were Right! It was the show about the wooden boy who could never tell a lie. It was shown here in the 60's always thought it came from the states, but maybe it was only shown in Canada. I will be back soon Kim  :clapThat's for you Prissy
