My new job is going great.  My new boss told me I'm doing a fantastic job and that I fit right in.   :purpbana  The only thing is that I was not truly on my own as Joyce has been there training me.  Her last day was Thursday and I was off Friday so from now on I'm entirely on own.   We'll see if I get those compliments next week.   :para

Went to see Untraceable yesterday and it was really gory.  I'm seeing a lot of these bloody gory movies and loving them.  I must be a little sadistic.   :bduh

I hate the bloody gory stuff that is so fashionable nowadays.  Any of those CSIs or Law and Orders or Nip and Tuck type shows I just don't wanna watch.  I'm not squeemish, I've seen worse in real life, but I just don't think it's entertainment.  And they never do it quite like real life anyway, so all I notice is the inconsistencies.

That's why I don't watch much tv anymore cuz that's practically all that is on.  Everybody is going for the shock factor, and they just have to keep upping the ante.

My hubby is so wonderful.  I just convinced him that we should watch Idol Rewind to see Clay on the big screen tv than watching the Super Bowl.   :bigsmile  He agreed and will watch the rest of the Super Bowl after Rewind.  He's such a sweetie.

Clay looks so young but so adorable in that Wild Card round.  I loved it when all three judges praised him.  Clay was so cute kissing Kimberly Caldwell and so relieved when he was picked.    :lol

Dave and I both have hazel eyes.  Mine are Green with Brown Flecks and his are Brown with Green Flecks.  How did we end up with 2 children both with Blue eyes?!?  :para :para

I'm watching the mid-day news.  I just learned 2 interesting things:

1) Japanese researchers determined that cell phones do not cause brain cancer.  (Do ya think that Japanese research on cell phones is trustworthy?  I'm pretty sure they have a vested interest.)

2) Everybody who has blue eyes is probably descended from one guy who lived in the Balkans 6,000-10,000 years ago.  He had a gene mutation.  Before that everybody had brown eyes.  My question is why do they think that only one guy in the history of the world could have had a mutation for blue eyes?  If one guy could do it so could others.  And if it was only one guy then he spawned almost the entirety of Skandanavia.  He really gets around.  And if there was only one guy with blue eyes and it's a recessive gene then wouldn't it have been over-ridden by every woman he had children with since she would have carried the dominant brown eyed gene?  and why does the color of one's eyes even merit this much thought to begin with?  ........Researchers just really don't think these things thru enough.  :lol

Easily!  Benadryl is what's in over the counter sleeping pills.  There's no way I can take that stuff and stay awake.

That's half the reason why I don't take allergy medicines... Other meds makes my heart race. Definitely don't like that trade off.

Once and only once, when I was a teenager, I took NyQuil  :naughty.   For only being 4'10" and 85 lbs. I slept 12 hours.  My mom told me :naughty to never ever take that stuff.  It's like taking pure alcohol  :bduh.  Well, I know that now  :bduh.  Why didn't she tell me beforehand?  :rolleyes  :lol

Oh Geez Beth, 12 hours?  I can't remember the last time I slept fpr 12 hours straight..

Guess what? It is official. I am going to New York to see Spamalot.  :bouncy Unfortunately it won't be the ECP/BLP weekend in March.  :cry That just didn't work out. Hopefully this summer we can meet up.  :smile Anyway I go the middle of April and my tickets are 8th row, center section.  :bigsmile

My surgery is scheduled for February 29.

Just got back to the hotel from the show and I'll try to do a little recap....

I see it's already been reported about Shannon.....At the stage door, Clay came out with his arm around a redheaded girl, and introduced her to the crowd, and said, "she's the one that helps me get my pants on and off." It was really cute! And Jerome wasn't there, but another guy was.
Clay was wearing the light blue Carolina hoody and looked great.

I bought one of the buttons, they're really nice. Bought a tee shirt too that says "I'm not dead yet". I asked if they were going to have tee shirts with Clay on them, and she said they hope to get Clay shirts in tomorrow, but she didn't know if there'd be a picture of him on them, she said something about a shield. I hope the Clay items will all become available online.

The place was packed again, it really looked like it might have been sold out. The view from the second row is NICE!! And it's interesting how you can see right down into the orchestra pit!

The crowd seemed more enthusiastic than last night, not near as many kids there and more Clay fans, it sounded like. I was talking to a lady in line while waiting to get in, and she commented she wasn't a Monty Python fan, and she didn't like any of their movies, especially the Holy Grail one. We figured she must have been surprised when she discovered what the play was about! She said she didn't like the Monty Python movie called Blazing Saddles either! Hmmmmm....haha!

I noticed a part that I haven't seen anyone mention yet......During the Camalot scene, when the knight brings out the big Spam towards the audience singing Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, then Clay goes out to center stage and sings "Lovely spam, wonderful Spam" a couple of times, and another knight has to pull him back as if they think he'll just keep singing......It's very funny!

As the people were exiting the theater, we noticed that pieces of the confetti (they're quite large) that had landed on them were blowing off and flying up into the sky, swirling all around. When they explode the confetti over the audience at the end of the show there's lots of it everywhere. We wondered if they just sweep it up and reuse it each day.

It's much colder here tonight, with more wind. I hope everyone traveling in the snowy areas can make it to NY. I saw in the paper it's supposed to be about 20 degrees colder here tomorrow.

All in all, the show tonight seemed to me like it was a little more "on" than last night, and Clay seemed more relaxed and friendly at the stage door. He was kidding around with Rick Holmes (Lancelot) who was also signing a few autographs, saying that they should just start signing each other's names.

We were a little disappointed that Hannah W. wasn't there again, but the understudy did a nice job.

He sure does know how to stir us up and get people talking.  :lol Can't wait to see the pictures.

Hi Everyone,

I had meant to give you a follow-up on my visit on Mon. with the Dr. I do have a ripped rotator cuff,which will have to be stitched...My biggest problem is that the recuperation period is for 6 weeks and I will not be able to drive during that time,because the arm will be in a sling. I asked him if there was an alternative for the pain for the time being, so he decided we would try cortisone  shots..so I had my first one Mon....This will definetly put a hardship on the family I work for because they are both Dr.s and since so much has to be done each day for Rebecca, I don't know what they would do...so my surgery is on hold for now....besides , I've got things to do and people to see...mainly Clay on Feb 16th.  Priorities you know!!!!:bigsmile

Congrats on your 5 year anniversary @ work!  :bouncy  What kind of pin did you receive and where was your awards ceremony?  My co. does a party once a year for people hitting 5 year increments of service.  They have a nice lucheon in a fancy restaurant, present the awards and then everyone gets to go home early.  That's the best part of all!  :lol

NOW, I NEED TO SET THIS UP FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND..  THE ONE THING I BROUGHT UP FOR ME TO GET SIGN WAS A CANDLE THAT BECKY FROM THE RED THONGERS MADE FOR ME AS A GIFT WITH THE PIC OF MY MEET AND GREET.  NOW, I HAD WHITE GLOVES AND THE WHITE CANDLE IN MY RIGHT HAND AND MY PLAYBILL IN MY LEFT HAND. IN THIS VIDEO YOU WILL SEE MY CANDLE BOBBING UP AND DOWN...AND THEN I FROZE WHEN HE GOT TO ME AND YOU'LL SEE HIM SAYING."YOU GOTTA GIVE ME SOMETHING HONEY....TO SIGN..."

Hey Tammygirl!!!!   :pouncy  After all these years, I know how hard it will be to leave your mom & your friends at daycare :hugg but this is such an amazing carreer opportunity and it's the perfect fit for you.  You're gonna do a wonderful job.  I just KNOW it!!  :bouncy  Please tell everyone MORE more about the position.  I know some, but I wanna hear more too!

Well it is kind of what I was doing.........but at a school, and it I have more responsibilities......but it IS a step up from what I had been doing for the last 15 years. My hours are weird.........6:30-9:15 at the school then 9:45-11 in the office........then back to the school from 2:45-6. Hubby has to take over the dinner making and homework duties... :wink..........but I will have from 11-2:30 at home and BY MYSELF!! :purpbana So I can have a few hours of free play on the computer daily to hang out with and entertain Philly when her patients drive her :crazy  :roflmao
