Posted Michael on Tuesday, September 23 2003 at 8:54 PM PDT

"We're here to see Clay Aiken," the women, age 19 to 70, said almost in unison.

Jerry and Claymaniacs.com Thank YOU!
Posted Michael on Monday, September 1 2003 at 5:16 PM PDT
Below is the introduction that Jerry Lewis made just prior to Clay performing. Thank YOU for making his appearance such a huge success.
"We are thrilled to have him join us today because when it was made known that he would appear on this telethon, the emails and the fan clubs that this young man has, has sent us $30,000 just for the fact that he was here. I can honestly say I have never in all of my life seen a theatrical groundswell that this kid has motivated that it makes us all come right back to the Bobby Sox and Frank, and isn't it nice to live through that magnificence again...here is Clay Aiken"

An 'Idol' Ending: Final Review of Final Concert
Posted Cruiser on Monday, September 1 2003 at 1:20 PM PDT
Clay...has the advantage of being somewhat unique, let alone adored out of proportion, bombarded here by by panties and bras and the odd pair of boxers. More beneficial to his rising popularity – more so than his dramatic voice wrapped in boy-next-door looks – is the fact that he's virtually alone in a field of young trad-pop stars. His appealing demeanor and ability to handle midtempo mainstream stuff better than, say, Rick Astley bodes well for his future. ("Invisible," the new song he unveiled, may be cheeesy and banal, but it has hooks. Plus, Clay sings the bejesus out of virtually everything he attempts.)

Call It 'Idol' Worship - Anaheim Concert Review
Posted Cruiser on Monday, September 1 2003 at 1:05 PM PDT
A few Ruben Studdard supporters were in evidence. One girl wore a chemise with Kimberley Locke's name on it. But if the outcome of "American Idol" were determined by the number of fans who showed up at Arrowhead Pond for Sunday night's live concert, Clay Aiken, the show's runner-up, would have won by a landslide.
