When triple platinum recording artist, Clay Aiken, began his unique journey to fame, he promised to use whatever celebrity he acquired to make a positive difference in the world. He has been realizing that promise since last July when he founded The Bubel/Aiken Foundation (TBAF) as a means to foster inclusion of children with developmental disabilities into all life has to offer.

The BAF Announces Project Gonzo

Clay Aiken's foundation for children with developmental disabilities is conducting a pilot program with the YMCA of Greater Kansas City. The Briarwood Art Camp and the Linwood YMCA Summer Day Camp program will partner with the Bubel/Aiken Foundation to provide children with developmental disabilities the same camp experience as children without disabilities.

Clay to Perform at PBS’ A Capitol Fourth 2004

A Capitol Fourth will feature performances by some of the country’s best-known and award-winning musical artists. The concert will include Nashville superstars Vince Gill and Amy Grant, American Idol singer Clay Aiken, a jive-talkin’ tribute to the 1970’s disco era with member of the legendary Bee Gees Robin Gibb and a special 150th birthday salute to famed late American composer and conductor John Philip Sousa whose “Stars and Stripes Forever” March has become synonymous with Independence Day. Clay to Sing at Dover Race and Perform at Benefit

Dover International Speedway is proud to announce that triple platinum selling recording artist Clay Aiken will sing the national anthem at the inaugural running in Dover of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series MBNA 400: A Salute to Heroes on June 6, 2004. Aiken also will take the time while in Dover to perform a benefit concert in the Dover Downs Rollins Center on Saturday night, June 5. The Bubel/Aiken Foundation and the Autism Society of Delaware are the beneficiaries of this very special evening with Aiken.

Aiken Tickets Edge Toward Sell Out

Only a precious — and we mean precious — few tickets to Clay Aiken's Aug. 6 Musikfest concert remained by mid-afternoon Thursday....But by 4 p.m., Musikfest spokeswoman Sharon McCarthy said about 200 additional $26 lawn tickets had become available again as some credit card sales were rejected. The concert may still achieve the distinction of being the only one in Musikfest's history to sell out before sales to the public.

Clay's Mom Rocks!

Clay Aiken's new song, "Proud of Your Boy," is a part of the special edition DVD of "Aladdin," which he says is a great way to show appreciation for moms. (That DVD will be not be available until Oct. 5.) "It's kind of a neat song because it talks a lot about Aladdin with his mother," Aiken says. "So singing that is kind of neat for me because I think everybody wants to make their mother proud of them." And Clay Aiken has definitely done that.

'Idol' Grant Awarded to School

Besides attending Green Chimneys School in Patterson, 8-year-old Ryan Harrington recently became an unofficial, honorary staff member as well. Ryan, who has bipolar disorder, received a $1,000 grant from 2003 "American Idol" runner-up Clay Aiken for Green Chimneys' Learn and Earn program, which offers students the chance to hold part-time jobs to make money and take on responsibilities around the campus.
