Able To Serve Awards On Youth Service Day

Youth Service America and the Bubel/Aiken Foundation are pleased to announce the Clay Aiken ABLE to SERVE Awards, which will provide 50 grants of up to $2,000 each to youth with disabilities for community service projects on National Youth Service Day, April 15-17, 2005. Youth Service America is partnering with four premiere national organizations that work with youth with disabilities, Best Buddies, Special Olympics, National Service Inclusion Project, and VSA arts, to distribute the grants. Clay Completes Mission in Southeast Asia

Clay Aiken...began his debut tour in Indonesia this week. But rather than performing any songs, he was visiting the tsunami-ravaged province of Aceh as an ambassador for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). Fresh from his three-day trip that ended on Wednesday, Aiken said in Jakarta on Thursday that he was in Aceh as part of a fact-finding mission for the U.S. UNICEF committee. The committee has raised money for tsunami victims, and the Acehnese have benefited from this, particularly in helping children continue their education. Click here to read more.



Clay Appears at Tsunami Benefit Concert

Clay appeared at The Force of Nature Tsunami Aid benefit concert in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Friday evening at 8 pm local time at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil. The concert featured performances by the Black Eyed Peas, Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and several Asian artists as well. Clay spoke from the stage and gave a speech about his recent trip to Banda Aceh. He spoke in the Malay language. We wish Clay safe travels home!



Clay to Perform at Indiana State Fair in August

According to the Indiana State Fair, Clay is scheduled to perform on August 18 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale April 9 at 10 a.m. at the State Fairgrounds’ Pepsi Coliseum box office and all Ticketmaster locations. Clay to Visit Southeast Asia for UNICEF

UNICEF spokeswoman Lely Djuhari said former American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken will visit Aceh in mid-March as one of the group's ambassadors. Aceh was the area hardest hit by the Dec. 26 quake and the tsunami that ensued. UNICEF is shipping in tons of educational materials to Aceh, including 2,000 school tents, 2,000 "School-in-a-Box" kits and 2,000 recreation kits. These supplies will support the more than 100,000 school children and 4,000 teachers in the affected areas of Aceh. Click here to read more.

Groovevolt.com has announced their 05 Music and Fashion Award winners. Clay won the award for Best Album - Male for Measure Of A Man. The nominees also included Usher, Gavin Degraw, Josh Groban and John Mayer. Clay also won the award for Best Song Performance - Male for Invisible. Other nominees in this category included Usher (featuring Lil Jon & Ludacris), Casey Stratton, Gavin Degraw, and John Mayer. Congratulations Clay!
