Clay Aiken fanatics, dressed in holiday style, lined the city sidewalks to enter his sold-out show Tuesday at [Cleveland's]Playhouse Square's Palace Theatre. It's been more than a year and a half since his second-place finish to Ruben Studdard in the second season of "American Idol," and this North Carolina native shows no signs of slowing down. Westfield Chorus Joins Idol On Stage

A performance by "American Idol 2003" runner-up Clay Aiken left students from Belchertown and Westfield star struck last week. Not because they had good seats, but because they didn't have seats at all - they performed with Aiken. "He just wanted kids to be on stage with him," Leeanne Lajoie, an assistant at The Firm, a Hollywood agency that represents Aiken, said. The singer majored in special education in college and worked at a program for disabled individuals. Click here to read more!

Clay a Hero to 32 Fifth Graders . . .

Clay Aiken is more than just America's idol. As of last Saturday night, Dec. 4, the easygoing, spike-coifed singer also is a hero to 32 fifth-graders from Fort Garrison Elementary School. When the school got word at the last minute that Mr. Aiken needed a youth choir to back him up for two selections at his one-night-only, sold-out concert at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, Fort Garrison's vocal music teacher, Connie Clarke, sprang into action.

When "American Idol" icon Clay Aiken thinks about his favorite Christmas specials, he can't help but like the old-fashioned, clay-mation ones, like "Rudolph: The Red Nosed Reindeer," despite the chuckles that admission gets. "That's the one I remember most," said the aw-shucks pop star, in his characteristic North Carolina drawl.

Clay No Longer Achin' & Back to Work

Aiken, 26, is a very busy man these days - with a new Christmas CD to promote, a holiday tour to perform, a TV special and DVD to push, and a self-help book to sign. He has a charitable organization to oversee, the Bubel/Aiken Foundation, which provides services and money to children with disabilities. This month, Aiken also was named a national ambassador for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. "Wow! I'm never at home," he says during a Monday teleconference. Click here to read more!

Wednesday December 1 is World AIDS Day - an international day of focus and action on HIV and AIDS which takes place every year. This year the focus is on women and AIDS.
