Christmas Clay's Way
Posted Pamela on Saturday, November 26 2005 at 8:11 AM PST
"Clay Aiken puts together a holiday showcase called “Joyful Noise” that is based on his own writing and features performers from his hometown. The end product is everything he'd wished for and more. As if singing, dancing and idol status weren't enough, Clay Aiken has added writing to his resume. “I did a Christmas show last year and it was so much fun,” Aiken said. “I thought I'd love to continue to do it, but I wanted to do something different.” Read the rest here!

Aiken is Heavenly Christmas Angel
Posted Pamela on Sunday, November 20 2005 at 6:44 PM PST
"Clay Aiken's show at the Mid-America Center Friday night wasn't flawless. Aiken, though, pretty much was. Dressed in a dapper white suit, the crooner belted out an array of Christmas tunes - from a mixed-up version of "Jingle Bells" to lesser-known songs such as "Mary Did You Know?" He was in Council Bluffs as part of his Joyful Noise 2005 tour. It's the second time Aiken, who finished second on "American Idol" in 2003, has done a Christmas tour." Read the rest here!

Joyful Noise - A New Tradition in Entertainment
Posted Pamela on Monday, November 14 2005 at 12:27 PM PST
"Ask anyone to make a list of Christmas traditions and they will probably go on and on, ad infinitum. From hanging the mistletoe to baking special holiday cookies and cakes, traditions are countless at Christmas time. But suggest that they tell you what entertainment is sought for the season, and they’ll name the same five shows time and time again. For my family, it happens to be watching The Nutcracker ballet on any given local stage in our community. And although I like to think I’m a bit of an aficionado, I must admit that right about now, I’m feeling like I’ve seen one too many choreographed renditions of “Waltz of the Flowers.” Read the rest here!

These 'Idol' Hands Are Happily Busy
Posted Pamela on Sunday, November 13 2005 at 8:08 AM PST
"The "American Idol" runner-up who turns 27 this month still loves Christmas songs, invited his high school music teacher on his current tour, and still can't imagine people talking about him when he's not there, let alone halfway around the globe. He's a UNICEF ambassador tripping to Indonesia and Uganda, he wrote a series of vignettes for his Joyful Noise 2005 tour stopping Denver on Wednesday, and he cast young Gregory Ellis from Raleigh, N.C., in the skits and is tutoring him on the road." Aiken Creates Yule Production

"For his second holiday-music tour, American Idol finalist Clay Aiken wanted to do something different. "I didn't want to do the same thing this year with singing Christmas songs," Aiken said by phone from Oakland, Calif. "I mean, when people have a Christmas concert they will sing 'O, Holy Night' or 'Jingle Bells.' I wanted to do something that could be played every year without getting old." Read the rest here!

Clay Aiken is a Class Act
Posted Pamela on Thursday, November 10 2005 at 3:34 PM PST
"Clay Aiken’s nice guy act is no act, says a local woman who was chosen to sing backup in the American Idol runner-up’s Christmas themed tour. Michelle Shepherd, a classically trained singer, was among the artists selected to sing and act in Aiken’s Joyful Noise 2005 Tour Wednesday night at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. And after meeting the 25-year-old performer, she is now a rock-steady Aiken fan." Read it here!

Clay Bells Ring for Holiday Tour
Posted Pamela on Wednesday, November 2 2005 at 5:22 AM PST
"Clay Aiken loves Christmas. "It's a Christmas show!" he exclaims of the Joyful Noise Tour, which is 40 shows long, starting tonight in Vancouver. "That's what we love to do. We're trying to start it early. Even though we are starting early, we try to get people in the spirit." Shouldn't be hard....At The Province, we've seen the catalogues of Christmas music and have started to receive Christmas CDs. And why not? Aiken's Christmas CD, Merry Christmas With Love, was the biggest-selling Christmas album of 2004." Canada.com
