Ryan has confirmed the theme for this week on his radio show this morning.   They are going with the decision which the producers have announced they are sticking with this year:  not to narrow down the songs to a certain genre,  as Country or Disco,  as it is not fair to everyone,  and so this year each theme will be wide enough that each contestant can bring any kind of genre they like into the show that night.

This week's theme is The Year You Were Born.

If you have not purchased Fred Bronson's big white shiny book seen on the show, "The Billboard Book Of No. 1 Hits", which he gave to each contestant, it is perfect for this theme. Fred's book has one page for every new No. 1 hit, week by week, through each year since 1955.

At the bottem of the page, an insert box has the Top 5 of that week on the charts. There are also Billboard Top 40 books by Joel Whitburn, and Fred had an orange book come out a few years ago which divides songs into subjects, just like a librarian's card catalog ! Song about boys, about girls, about animals, about cars, etc. It always gives the year for each song.
