let me see...being a country fan...

my first concert was when i was 8 years old. i went to see George Jones with my grandparent's. I was a fan of his and am still a big fan today. That was in 1984.

after that, i've seen Mickey Gilley {1989}, Merle Haggard {1990}, Jerry Clower {1995}, Gene Watson {1998}, and lastly, Clay {2004}, when he came to Dayton last year. i'm not a big concert goer as you can see No! Laughing

My first concert?? Well, I was never a concert goer until Clay..but I  have seen some performers at fairs.

My first was Mr. Mister..yep, of Kyrie.

I later saw Air Supply, Chicago, Beach Boys(about 10 yrs ago), Roy Clark (Country funny man!!)  and then our Clay.

Mr. Mister had a fan blowing during a lot of the songs and his long coat would "fly" out during times that it was approriate. It was very neat for me. I was sheltered (Honestly!) as a kid! It wasn't until I met my husband that I attended any of these.

I would love to still see Styx, Reo Speedwagon, Whitesnake, DEF LEPPARD!!, Poison, or Boston from "younger years!"

My first concert was Michael Bolton, he was awesome! Then Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, and an outdoor summer concert thing with several artists. I think John Michael Montgomery was the headliner, but the artist that stood out for me and did a fabulous job was Kevin Sharp. Then, of course, I have only seen Clay nine times. One AI (Charlotte), three Independent, four NATs and only one Joyful Noise. I need some more Clay concerts don't you think? I think maybe we all do!!

My first REAL concert was Whitney Houston, at the beginning of her career.  I thought I was so cool to be in the audience, listening to a diva.  She sounded very good live.

Many years before that I saw........K. C. and the Sunshine Band at Disney World, so I don't really count that as a concert, but I thought it was awesome.

MY FIRST CONCERT......GOD, NO ONE IS GOING TO KNOW THESE GUYS......WAS DINO, DESI, AND BILLY.

Micki, you are right, I don't know who they are.  Was it a local group?

quynn,

I will answer about Dino, Desi, and Billy.  Dino was Dean Martin, Jr, now desceased, Desi is Desi Arnaz, Jr. and Billy was their friend.  They had a rock band and I believe Dean Martin had them perform on his TV show a few times.

I don't remember my first concert.  I have been going to symphony concerts "forever" and have seen in  concerts and pop concerts:

Liberace
Victor Borge
Beverly Sills
Johnny Mathis
Neil Diamond
Van Cliburn
Pete Fountain
Al Hirt
Isaac Stern
Joshua Bell
Dave Brubeck
Yo'Yo Ma  (I just saw the article about him in PARADE today, and I remembered I saw the cellist a few months ago.)

I never saw the Beatles, but I loved them and their music.
Clay is the only artist I have seen multiple times (7).

OMG, JILL.  HOW CUTE.  WELL, DESI WAS LUCILLE BALL AND DESI ARNAZ'S SON.  DINO WAS DEAN MARTIN''S SON.  AND I FORGET WHO BILLY IS.  NOT LOCAL AT ALL.  THEY DIDN'T LAST LIKE THEIR PARENTS DID.  NOW, THAT SHOWS YOU HOW OLD I AM.

What I remember most about my FIRST concert was NOT the music. It was Stan Kenton and his band.    And none of you are old enough to remember him! However, what I remember is that I wore my first pair of spike heeels and a sheath dress and my date had a backstage pass and knew all of the band. About the time he introduced me to Stan Kenton, I turned my ankle in those spike heels and fell into him. Talk about embarrassed!  blush Everyone laughed and my date was furious with me. Oh well, it's a funny memory. And the date? What a loser. If you can't laugh at yourself or laugh with your date, who you gonna laugh at?

Now my LAST concert was the JNT and I remember every minute of that!!!

And the NEXTconcert will be whatever OMC does for us.
