Wondering what to pack for the big upcoming weekend in Charlotte and Raleigh?  Hopefully these weather.com forecasts prove to be helpful.  I will try to update it everyday until Friday (when I fly out to Charlotte!)

PAMELA found this and I would like to post it in bold letters:

"If you are coming to Charlotte, the weather is going to be cold. The low predicted for Friday evening is in the low 40's. Same for Saturday. This will be the coldest air of the season for the NC area. So, bring your warm duds if you are traveling in from out of state! "

IMPORTANT UPDATE:  RAIN SEEMS TO BE CREEPING INTO THE FORECAST.      WOULDN'T HURT TO PACK A PONCHO OR UMBRELLA

CHARLOTTE  FORECAST:

Fri
Oct 15  Partly Cloudy / Wind 63°/44° 20 %
Sat
Oct 16  Mostly Sunny / Wind 69°/42° 10 %
Sun
Oct 17  Partly Cloudy 68°/52° 0 %
Mon
Oct 18  Few Showers 74°/59° 30 %
Tue
Oct 19  Showers 76°/57° 30 %

RALEIGH EXTENDED FORECAST:

Sat
Oct 16  Mostly Sunny / Wind 69°/42° 0 %
Sun
Oct 17  Mostly Sunny 67°/51° 0 %
Mon
Oct 18  Few Showers 75°/60° 30 %
Tue
Oct 19  Showers 79°/60° 30 %

You and me both!  But it's worth it...plus, shivering burns calories!  That's the only positive thing I know about being cold....

Funny, I always thought it was warm and sunny there like in Texas.  I am surprised.  Now we know why Clay dresses as he does.  Can't wait to see his NC outfit!!!!!!!!!!!!

Travel to Charlotte, NC
If you or someone you know is heading to Charlotte, please note the following information:

The exit ramp for I-85 South to I-77 South is closed and will be closed for several more weeks as construction crews build-up a new ramp.
If you are driving to Carowinds on I-85 South, the Highway Dept. recommends exiting onto I-485 at Exit 48 and following 485 to I-77 South at Exit 67. This route is a bit longer, but the road is good and traffic moves quickly.

A second option is to stay on I-85 South and travel past the I-77 South intersection to Exit 36. Take Exit 36 and follow Billy Graham Parkway/Highway 521 past the airport to I-77 South. There are stop lights on this road (Billy Graham Parkway), but traffic usually moves pretty well. If you stay on I-85 South to I-77 South, you will be routed NORTH on I-77 to Exit 16, then exit and get back onto I-77 South. (much slower!)

Um, Pamela - does any of this apply to driving from the hotel to Carowinds????  It all sounds Greek to me!
