Sorry, but I just had to!  Well, this is it y'all.  The final date of the Clay Aiken Tour 2004 (excepting the NC finales) and here we are.  From the very first show in Grand Fork to the Big E, it has been a wild ride.  From the first strains of Where the Streets Have No Name to the final wail of Solitaire, Clay has given us his all.  Night after night, he sings, he dances, he hugs us literally (the dancer fans and singer fans) and figuratively, with his voice.  Speaking of which, his voice, which has held up incredibly well for forty seven shows, in over thirty states, over a period of ten or so weeks, continues to make us weep and laugh with pure joy.  And when the show is over, when we find it hard to leave the venue, because we want to hold that warm fuzzy, that buzz we get from the outpouring of love that goes both ways, he continues to thank us by occasionally coming to us as Clay the person, not as Clay the singing sensation who just blew us away from the stage.
When Clay comes out and thanks us personally after the show, that's when we know he really does love this new life.  And hopefully he knows that we love him.  No matter what jacket he wears, no matter what his hair does, no matter what words he forgets.  Wink

We love you Clay. Thank you for the good times!

OK, is everyone ready?  Let's go!

ETA:  We are just having one cellcert thread tonight.  There will be excitement and emotion and blind, devotional love expressed! Have fun!

What time does it start? I'm going to try to stay with this cellcert tonight, slow computer and all - I usually just give up, but since I've just heard from Julie that lorraine and company are on the second row center, I can't miss this!

Update from the Big E line:The weather is perfect - sunny, blue skies, 71 degrees. ... The crowd is getting larger - there are about 2,000 people in line at this time. Jojoct just called back to say that Clay just arrived at the venue.

Another update:
The Ben Jellen [sic] fans were let in first but are seated in the back.
The crowd is now about 4,000 people or more. Bob (of the Bob and Linda fame) snuck in and managed to snag the second row center seat.

There is evidently a large bucket hung up above center stage.  HMMM.

Oh boy, we may have some ANTICS tonight!

EVENING ALL--

I CANNOT BELIEVE IT HAS BEEN 10 WEEKS AND 47 SHOWS.  I HAVE BEEN FORTUNEATE ENOUGH TO HAVE SEEN 5 SO FAR AND 3 MORE TO GO.  HE NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME WITH HIS VOICE AND HIS CHARM.  I WILL MISS THESE CONCERTS AND WAIT, HOPEFULLY FOR THE NEXT SET AT CHRISTMAS.  I HOPE HE KNOWS HOW MUCH WE LOVE HIM AND RESPECT HIS GIFT.

I remember hearing of the first couple concerts, and I was like "WOW! He's going to be touring to a few places... Then days went by, and five more places went up for the "tour"... then a few more days, ten more places... It was insane and then I went insane. I was so happy to hear that he was going on his own solo tour. All clay, all the time.

Early concert!  Interfering with my wine and cheese hour!  OH well, I have them here with me to help celebrate a fabulous concert season complete with thrills, chill, laughs (mostly at his wardrobe!) and tears.  So I raise my glass of lovely red wine to you, Clay!  :booze
