Quote
Clay Aiken with Ben Jelen kicks off the 2004 Kansas State Fair on Friday, September 10, 2004 at 7:30pm. Ticket Price is $25 and all seats are reserved seating.  Ticket price does not include gate admission. Tickets are on sale now! Tickets Available at the  Kansas State Fair Ticket Office 1-800-362-3247, any Select-a-Seat Outlet or on-line at www.selectaseat.com. Early in 2003, Clay Aiken auditioned for the American Idol tryout in Charlotte, NC.  The winner of the Charlotte competition would have the honor of appearing before the judges in the auditions being held in Atlanta without waiting.  Clay didn’t win the tryout in Charlotte, but was encouraged to go to Atlanta. He auditioned for the American Idol producer and advanced to the next round where he appeared before the co-executive producer.  The next day, Clay performed for Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson.  He didn’t think he would win but decided to just enjoy himself.  Clay made it to the top 32 in California.  His group didn’t advance on American Idol but he had a second chance in the Wild Card round.  He sang Elton John’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”.  He received the most telephone votes, which allowed him to move into the top 12.  As the contestants were eliminated, Clay continued to win the hearts of the television viewers.  The competition narrowed to Clay and Ruben Studdard on May 21, 2003.  Clay didn’t win but was runner-up.  He did, however, win a recording contract with RCA Records through 19 Recordings Limited.   Clay’s album Measure of a Man sold 612,000 copies in its first week of release in October 2003. The album was #1 on the Billboard albums chart.  Clay's new single, The Way/Solitare released 03/16/04. To learn more about Clay Aiken, check out his website at www.clayaiken.com/. New York native, Ben Jelen to open for Clay Aiken at the 2004 Kansas State Fair on Friday, September 10, 2004 at 7:30pm. Ben is a pop artist who uses a unique blend of instruments. Ben’s album “Give It All Away” released in March 2004. To learn more about Ben, check out his website at www.benjelen.com.

It's Cellcert Time! Are you all set?
And ready with your Internet?
A "Claying" is about to start.
So please join in and play a part!

You picture posters in full force
Post "Claycandy." We like your source!
The funny things some of you say
Give us the best laughs of our day!

You lurkers are quite welcome, too,
And "pop-ins," we say "Hi," to you.
But best of all, our cellcert hosts,
You are the ones we love the most!

Turn on that PC; grab a chair.
Our Clay will soon be on the "air."
To all who will participate,
You make this a most special "date."

Thank you Prissy!
