Disney's DVD unit is sponsoring the current concert tour of American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken after hiring the hot singer to record a music video of a deleted song from Aladdin, "Proud of Your Boy," as an exclusive bonus feature for the Oct. 5 special edition of the movie. Prior to each show, which runs through Oct. 18, audiences watch a three-minute video that features Aiken explaining why "Proud" was important for him to perform. The music video also will run on The Disney Channel.

"There's a lot more clutter, so there's a lot more marketing messages that face consumers," Ho said. Aiken "is a fan of Disney movies. Fans of Clay tend to be fans of Disney movies. We're trying to make things interconnected so it makes the message that much more salient."

ILCLAYMATE - I JUST CAME BACK FROM WALMART AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE ONE SINGLE LEFT OF SOLITAIRE/THE WAY BUT THEY DID HAVE A FEW COPIES OF MOAM.  THEN I WENT TO KMART, NO SINGLES JUST MOAM AND THEN STRAWBERRIES, NO SINGLE JUST MOAM.  WHAT THE HECK.  PROBABLY AMAZON WOULD BE OUR BEST BET AND IT COUNTS.

I went to Wal-Mart here last week and bought the last The Way/Solitare single that they had.  I checked today and they hadn't gotten anymore in.  I will have to check the local Sam Goody the next time I am over there!

BOZENA I DIDN'T WANT TO ASK AC THAT QUESTION.  PROBABLY NUMBER 1 AGAIN.  APPARENTLY SHE HAS BEEN GETTING A LOT OF AIR PLAY AND HE SAID THAT THE R&B STATIONS ARE REALLY HELPING HER OUT.  WE HAVE TO KEEP SALES GOING FOR CLAY.  THINGS GOT SO MESSED UP AT FIRST WHEN THE WAY WAS THE FIRST SINGLE AND THEN RCA CHANGED IT TO SOLITAIRE.  THAT WAS NOT FAIR AND I THINK CLAY WOULD HAVE HAD MORE SALES IF THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN AND OF COURSE MORE AIR PLAY WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE.  RIGHT AC?
