I found this at
www.claymaniacs.comHi everyone,
I got this from a news group that I belong to and wanted to pass it on to all of you on the message board. Thanks....
LOOPS FOR THE TROOPS
Faye Parker -Clay's mother- has requested that all of us at
our "meet & greets" and anyone else on the boards volunteer to make
tiny loops of yellow ribbons to give out at their concert venues.
This would be a symbol of remembrance and prayer for Brett since he
is now in Marine basic training -- and for all our men and women
serving our country in our armed forces. It would mean so much to
the family and for Clay as well.
These little loops are similar to the ones you have seen displayed
on lapels for Breast Cancer and Aids Research and remembrance. They
are held together with a straight pin and should be pinned on the
left side of a shirt near your heart.
If we each will make up 10 to 15 or so, the cost is very little -- a
roll of this tiny, 1/4 in. wide, yellow satin ribbon can be found at
Michael's or AC Moore for very little cost -- possibly $1.00 to
$1.50 for 2 rolls of ribbon. Cut the ribbons into about 6 in.
pieces, make the loop, and then pin it in the middle.
If you are not able to make them, but would like to order them pre-
made online, that is an option. You can order them from the site
below, and clearly the price goes down per ribbon if you order them
in bulk. Here is that link:
http://www.pinmart.com/catalog.cfm?cat=78 This one sells pins that are made specifically to show support of
our troops and incude a tiny American Flag on the pin!
http://store.yahoo.com/victorystore00/yerisutrlapi.html We need to give them out at the concerts to all those people who are
not online and would not know about them. We can take them to our
concerts in a plastic bag which will take up no room at all in
our "take-alls" where we have our water, snacks, camera, videocam,
and what-not.
Clay will know what these little ribbons are for -- as will Faye.
I know all of Clay's fans will be willing to help with this since we
are cognizant of Brett now in the service of his country.
So -- let's spread the word across the boards and wherever friends
are gathered about these little yellow ribbons, what they mean, what
they are for, and hopefully there will be a sea of people wearing
them come concert time. All those lucky fans that have floor seats
near the stage should be wearing them for sure -- these are the
people Clay will see the most easily.
