I KNOW THIS IS REALLY LATE BUT, IF ALL YOU CLAYMANIACS DON'T MIND. I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE MY REPORT ON THE CELLCERT I RECEIVED LAST NIGHT..

SPECIAL THANKS TO LISA FOR GIVING ME THE FIRST 3 SONGS! :P

PHILLY'S CELLCERT REPORT..

WELL, FIRST THING ALL OF YOU SHOULD KNOW IS THAT I WASN'T IN PHILLY BUT IN ATLANTIC CITY NJ WHEN I HAD MY CELLCERT.

YESTERDAY WAS MY MOM'S BIRTHDAY, ORGINALLY I SUPPOSE TO TAKE MY MOM OUT TO DINNER HERE IN PHILLY BUT, MY AUNT ( HER SISTER) WANT TO GO ATLANTIC CITY TO CELEBRATE MY MOM'S BIRTHDAY.  SO, I HAD QUICKLY CHANGE MY CELLCERTING PLANS..

YEP! YOU REALLY KNOW YOU'RE A TRUE CLAYMANIAC WHEN YOU MAKE A MAD DASH OUT OF THE RINGING SOUNDS OF THE CASINO,  TO THE BOARDWALK OF ATLANTIC CITY, SO YOU CAN HEAR A CELLCERT PROPERLY.. Laughing:

AND MY CELLCERT WAS PERFECT...

THERE I WAS ON THE BOARDWALK, GAZING OUT TO SEE THE ATLANTIC OCEAN AND ENJOYING THE COOL SEA BREEZES AND LISTENING TO CLAY AIKEN.   IT WAS PARADISE. 8)

WELL I RECIEVED THE FIRST 3 SONGS..

WHERE THE STREETS HAVE NO NAME

WELL, AT FIRST, I COULDN'T HEAR ANYTHING BUT SCREAMS.. shock:  BUT THEN I HEARD THE "VOX" THAT WAS CLAY AIKEN.  I WAS IN HEAVEN. IT WAS PERFECT!  I LOVE THE WAY CLAY MADE THIS SONG HIS OWN. Wink:

SHINE

I HEARD THIS SONG LOUD AND CLEAR.. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES!! IN FACT I'M HOPING THAT "SHINE" WILL BE THE NEXT SINGLE RELEASED AFTER I WILL CARRY YOU.  THAT SONG BRINGS ME BACK TO GLORY DAYS OF THE BEATLES.. Wink:

WHEN YOU SAY YOU LOVE ME

I MUST ADMIT, THAT THIS WAS THE ONE SONG I DIDN'T LIKE ON THE ALBUM.  BUT AS I HEARD CLAY SING IT MORE AND MORE, THE MORE I LIKE!

CLAY SOUNDED SO HAPPY AND PLAYFUL THIS SONG..

I CAN JUST IMAGINE HOW IT WAS TO BE THERE LAST NIGHT. Wink:

AND AGAIN,

THANK TO LISA ( LJB) FOR GIVING THE HONOR OF CELLCERT LAST NIGHT.

LOVE YA

PHILLY Wink:

OMG, Gramma, you must have felt like you were in heaven, which we all know is supposed to be a beautiful place with beautiful people.

I put my whole self into everything you were saying and I could just feel the excitment and emotion inside of me that you must have had and probably still have.  We all know how long it takes to come down off from that kind of high.  I love the song "When You Were There."  In fact, I love all of his Christian songs!  I can't even imagine, or I could, but it just all seems so surreal to have him in front of you so close.  I can't wait to see him on July 29th.  I hope he will be just as happy.  It is a much smaller venue in CT.  You made my night.  I hadn't had a chance to read your review yet.

Wisconsinmaniac, Can you work the people in CT too with your charm??
I would just once get a seat that close, just once!!!  Thanks you for your comments to.  Sounds like you all had a ball.  I wish so much I could have been there with all of you wonderful people.

LJB, thank you too.  It means so much to all of us to hear the wonderful things you say about the man we all love so dearly.

I made the 4 ½ hour trip to Grand Chute to see Clay (and of course all the Claymaniacs too), it was worth every minute!  I have been Clayed to the fullest extent of the word.  There is no other way to describe it and only a Clay fan would understand!  I definitely no longer question my going to 4 concerts!

Well, here goes . . .

About 45 minutes before the concert started we were on our way into the concert (we were not too far from the busses).  Earlier I had made a comment that the fans that were standing near the barricades were wasting their time since I was sure Clay wouldn’t be coming out so close to the concert start time.  Then what do you know, Clay comes out and goes to the bus!  When he got off the bus, he gave us a smile and a wave before bounding up the steps two at a time!!  Not that I didn’t believe him, but I guess Clay definitely meant it when he said he didn’t want to have people doing things for him!  Even to run out to the bus for whatever it was he needed.  He was wearing an olive green polo short sleeve shirt and tan knee length shorts and flip flops.

Our part of the group had 8th row tickets to the left of the catwalk, just one section over from the center, very good seats!! (Thank you Gramma, Wisconsinmaniac, LJB for getting these!!) Only bad thing was the tall woman in front of me with her daughter who had a HUGE sign on stick and when she held it up, it took all I had, not to grab it from her and either rip it up or whack her over the head with it!

Clay’s voice was phenomenal!  He had so much interaction with the fans and fed off of our excitement, he did a lot of talking and was hilarious!! (Loved it!)  I find that I am so mesmerized by Clay that I barely notice anything else on stage while he is up there.  I think it was after Shine (2nd song) that Clay said something about his back up singers and I was like, oh yeah, I hadn’t even noticed them yet.  The James Taylor Tribute is wonderful, I loved watching him watch and react to the back up singers.  MOAM was also a favorite of mine and it was gorgeous!!  For most of the concert, I was singing along, but Solitaire stunned me into silence, all I could do was stand there with my mouth open. (Until I saw all the bugs in the lights, then I at least shut my mouth.)  But what a way to end the concert!!

Sjlogge inspired me to wait over by the busses (with the HUGE crowd).  Somehow I weaseled my way up to about 3 people from the barricade. When Clay came out I got my hand through the people and I got a little finger tug from Clay!!!  I couldn’t see my hand or his when he did it, but I definitely felt it when he gave the tip of my index finger a little squeeze.  After Clay’s bus left, Angela and Quiana came out and signed a few things for the fans.  I got both their autographs on my program!  Quiana even used my sharpie for a while.  They are both very beautiful, even in sweats!

One last comment since I saw that one of the topics last night on the cellcert was that Clay wears so many layers.  Well, I don’t think that is ever going to change.  Even in the middle of summer, I noticed that he had on a white tshirt under his gray tshirt when he came around to us before getting on the bus.  Clay, we love you, layers and all!!

It.is.not.just.us and the concert in Appleton drove that point home tenfold. I am so happy that I decided to jump in the car and drive 8 hrs. to be there for this concert. It was an amazing experience that I think will only ever happen once for me.

I would guess that at least ½ of all concert attendees had NEVER seen Clay Aiken in concert before. Most of those that I talked to either didn’t have a computer or definitely were not plugged in. Each of them loved him and the concert. Anyone who dares to place him in a demographic box will never get the lid on because it won’t fit. This audience was a mix of everything, from the young to the young at heart. There were many families and lots of Y’s [men] at this concert and they too ran the age spectrum.

The scene after the concert gave me chills and warmed my heart at the same time (snip).  To witness the sea of bodies waiting patiently for him to come out to his bus was nothing that I have ever witnessed after any concert. As huskerfalcon noted last night, I did say it looked the entire town of Appleton was waiting. Those parked nearest the buses weren’t going anywhere until Clay left the lot, and there were families perched atop mini vans or just hanging out waiting to get that last glimpse of Clay Aiken, Superstar. I really hope that someone captured this on film because it truly was amazing. If Mrs Loki said I scared anyone after the concert, don’t believe her, but the newbies were amazed that there were people who follow him (Mrs Loki told them I WAS a groupie, but neglected to mention to how many concerts she has been) around the country. One woman didn’t even know that he had lost American Idol. This woman commented, “You can tell he is a very loving and giving man because he spotlighted his back up singers and his band.” She was amazed, only knew Invisible, came with her tween, doesn’t own MOAM (snip) but she did say she would buy it today.  When they left they knew about the Christmas CD, the book, Stories for Heroes, his middle name, what kind of dog Raleigh is, how old he is, that yes he did graduate from college with a degree in special ed and their eyes had not popped out of their heads in shock. They didn’t know that he was also coming to Milwaukee and I think some of them may now be contemplating that trip.

I think that CAA made an excellent choice in booking him in areas that he has not yet toured because he has fans of all ages who have not yet had the Clay Aiken Experience.

I was also at the Appleton Concert and OMG!! it was AMAZING!!! when he came steping little by little out of the stairs that had opened up for his enterance, i stopped breathing. that stripped shirt (see my avitar picture thingy majigger) was gorgeous on him...hell, anything is really...SO anyway, the night's story, too long to tell can be boiled down to this: we had grass seats, got to the stadium at about 3:00 so decided to check what all the baracade fuss was all about, maybe clay would be out, but left there around 4:00 upon Jarome telling us he'd be out AFTER the show...went to the ticket counter just to see if there was anything better, and YES, YES THERE WAS!!! we got front row section M, ground floor, right behind section d, to the left of the catwalk thingy. they were absolutly fabulous! so anyway, met two really nice glow stick girls and told them about what jarome said. so we left before he came back outto do solitaire and got front row baracade and waved the sticks so we could all find each other. got jacob's picture and autograph, quiana's pic and autograph, and angela's pic and autograph. got lots of clay pictures and touched his right hand and yes, i aimed for the WWJD braclet. its corny i know but the power and magnitude of the event was probably the best memory of my life so far. it was AMAZING!! have i said that yet? anyway, got a pic of him and raleigh and jarome up in the bus. needless to say, i was a happy girl driving home!!!

Filling Every Empty Space With Clay

« Reply #450 on: July 17, 2004, 07:38:02 PM »

forever_clay -  Good to see another Wisconsin fan.

I posted my Appleton review on this thread earlier.

That was a perfect concert by an awesome entertainer!

Aren't we lucky??

My last memory of that night is after the concert and after he shook hands by the barricaded fence, the police car made a path and led the way out.

In the first bus was Clay.   He had his adorable head up close to the front window of the bus.  He was holding Raleigh and waving to his fans!!

It would be impossible not to love him!!!
