Clay’s book has finally been titled.
“Learning to Sing – Hearing the Music in Your Life” is due for release in November of this year.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been hearing some very sweet music in my life for quite a while now.
This will be the permanent thread for all discussion about Clay's book.

Pamela - Thanks for the link to Barnes & Noble. I emailed Amazon today to see why I could not pre-order from their site, and I received an email telling me that they are already SOLD OUT of the amount they expect to receive. They told me to just keep checking back in case they are able to get more copies of the book. I was able to pre-order just now with Barnes & Noble. Amazing for a book that won't even be out for four months.

Clay's ghostwriter is apparently Allison Glock.

To write the article, it sounded like they spent most of the day together. I guess they became friends. She is the one that first said that he smelled like fresh laundry.........hmm.

i think the book you're thinking of, the biography, is already out. it's also at Amazon. {sales rank: #1,301}. i pre-ordered Learning to Sing yesterday from Amazon. i don't if i should send them a money order so soon...after all, it
IS
just July...months before it's released! so i'm gonna e-mail Amazon and ask. there are so many order for this book {i'd imagine} that i'm afraid my order will get "lost" in the fray.

My understanding is that it's inspirational in genre. I can't wait to get it either. Where has Clay found the time to write a book? He is such a motivated person. I admire him.

July 2005? Can someone else confirm if it is out already?

I found this over at the
www.clayaiken.com
site and I thought I would pass this along.
Quote:
was checking on Clay's memoir this morning at Baker & Taylor and still no cover art but the initial print run for the book is 225,000 copies. That is huge for a book that is not written by an author with the name of John Grisham or Danielle Steel. Most books have a print run of 3,000 - 5,000 copies initially and if you sell 20,000 copies of a non-fiction book that is considered doing well. So Random House isn't in the business of publishing books for charity purposes so they are banking on Clay having a big fall book. If he goes on a publicity junket they'll be doing a second print run of his book.
More from lapeapod1:
Quote:
Just an update on my figures on Clay's print run of 225,000 of his memoir. Random House is printing up this many because the sales to the public (bookstores, Amazon, etc) are expected to be huge. Based on how well Clay tracks with his CD and television appearances the execs come up with an initial print run. We're talking a couple of hundred thousand bucks they are putting out to publish this book (print run plus Clay's advance). Sales to libraries will be only a few thousand. They will put some marketing behind this big print run and I wouldn't be surprised if Clay did some author signings at some of the big superstores. Let's face it anything with Clay's name on it will be a big seller ......
I need to get mine pre ordered. I AM SO HAPPY FOR OUR MAN.

I noticed that Amazon has the book for sale again. And lo and behold,
it is also selling a cd version read by Clay.
I do believe we are all going to go broke. But of course it will be worth
it. As I have read before, we would pay to hear him read the phone book.

I went online to Amazon.com but I can't find the cd version of Clay's book. Where is it located?

Glad you found it and I am glad there is someone else as nutty as I am
over Clay. I would spend money to hear or see him, speaking, singing or
just silently standing there in a picture.
