Clay's Fiddlin' Poet

« on: May 25, 2004, 01:53:58 PM »

SUMMER TOUR, 2004

Clay's summer tour will soon begin.
Pam's given us the where and when;
Across these great United States.
(How can he do so many dates?)

There's Appleton and Lexington
And Charleston and Hutchinson.
We know that Clay will give his best,
(But why is he not in the West?)

Atlantic City and New York,
There's Mashantucket and Bismark.
He'll even brave the Texas heat!
(How do I get a first row seat?)

There's Jackson, Portland, Evansville,
Columbus, Fort Wayne and Greenville.
This tour is really quite a quest!
(Will our Clay ever get to rest?)

I plan to travel to see Clay.
It doesn't matter where I stay!
I look so forward to each song.
(Will hubby even know I"m gone?)

I hope my hubby understands,
I've got to see that trav'lin' man!

Prissy

I posted this on the Express Yourself Thread but thought it might fit in over here, too. 8)  :D

Filling Every Empty Space With Clay

Prissy - Thanks for the poem.    6 weeks from this very night, Clay will be in Appleton, Wisconsin!!    Claymaniac Cheeseheads (and honorary Cheeseheads from near and far) will give him a great Wisconsin welcome.   I CAN HARDLY WAIT.

Summer Tour 2004 will see a lot of travelin' Clay fans followin' the "Travelin' Man".

It just may be a "Long, Hot Summer"!!!   And we are ready!!! :)  :!:

How lucky we are to understand and appreciate the true beauty of Clay Aiken and to follow him on his journey as he "makes a difference"!

Prissy,

What a great poem!

You have inspired me to write a quick song (ahem, ahem)

Cli-o (Day-o)

Cli-o, Cli-i-i-o
Clio come not so far from my home

Cli-o, Cli-i-i-o
CLio come, I don't want to go home

Come Mr. Aiken man
come w/ us to Clio
Cli-o come, we don't want to go home

Come Mr. Aiken man
it's you we want to see-o
Cli-o come, we don't want to go home

He's 6 foot, 1 inch, very tall man!
Cli-o come, we don't want to go home
Up on stage he is the one!
Cli-o come, I don't want to go home

Cli-o, Cli-i-i-o
Cli-o come, we don't want to go.... hommmmmme

CFCF,  I'm glad you liked my poem.  It was fun to write!

wisconsinmaniac,  I'm glad you liked my poem, too.  How wonderful that you will get to see Clay in Appleton, Wisconsn!  Please let us know everything about the concert.  Wouldn't it be fun to see Clay wearing one of those cheesehead hats!  :D

Songbird,  I always appreciate your kind words.  You know I really like your "Cli-o" poem.  (Harry Belafonte said he liked it, too!!!  Wink: )
