I love this forum Pamela! Here is my submission

MELODY OF A LIFE

There is an unspeakable hush which falls over the crowd,
A diverse community all
Gathered for the same purpose,
For the same reason.
To hear him sing, with all his heart
Soul and mind,
To see him smile
As if his lips are doves
Which are graceful and soft in their honesty
The come to see him
Proclaim his truths with an open tongue,
But the ones who have fell in love,
Come to watch him experience a new joy.
His arrival is more than they can hope for,
Since he is beaming with childish delight
And it reflects
On the scene at hand
And the applause is deafening
Resounding on the walls
With adoration.
With his graceful hands poised at the mike,
His tongue kissing each word
Before he allows them to be free.
The faces that stare back at him
Are in awe, wondering what
Would have given them such a gift.
He stroked the notes
and allows them to glide out fluidly.
With his heart in the song
His eyes glisten,
Moist with utmost gratitude and affection.
He came from such a humble world
Before he was tossed into this one,
Yet without regretting a moment
He beams.
Perhaps he will only remain in such an
Amazing realm for an instant,
But it has affected him so greatly,
That he will never forget any of it.
With the final notes lingering in the
Back of his throat,
He smiled and throws his passion
Into the melody.

Clayz,
Beautiful as always. Thank you for sharing!

Pamela,
My brain is toast right now   , but I am glad that you have recreated a thread that Houston and I tried to do awhile ago. Creativity and CLay just go hand in hand.

When my creative juices get rolling, I will have to write a song or two.  Wink:

Clay's Buttercup

Clayz, that is a work of art, my you have a talent!!  I'm not sure if this is talent or not, but I was so anxious for the release of MOAM last Sept. that this little piece of work came flying out of my pen!!!

As I wait with anticipation the release of Clay's new CD
I can't help reflecting on the songs he's already given me!!
Whether it's "At this Moment" which is a bit country,
Or one of my favorites, "To Love Somebody"
The range of voice he displays, never ceases to amaze, delight, and send me crazy!!

On my morning walks I have my CD in tow, The one that was burned for me many months ago,
There's "Build Me Up Buttercup", "Grease" and "I Will Be There"
And the one I replay almost every time "Solitaire"

The version of "Everlasting Love" when he holds the last note,
Takes me back to that night, how I wish I could vote!!
When I hear "Don't let the Sun Come Down on Me"
It takes me back to that night and judge Randy,
When Clay finished to bring the house down,
Randy exclaimed in his critique"Where does that voice come from??"

"Somewhere Out There" he finishes high tenor,
"To Love Somebody" has the longest held last note,
"Bridge Over Troubled Water" should have awarded him everyon's vote!!!
But he still finished OUR winner, How I'd love to get to Raleigh to take him to dinner!!
And show him what his Canadian fans are all about!!

Hey, this is a neat thread.  I just found it today.  Wasn't sure what was going on in here.  The title made me think of a Madonna song.  You guys are very creative.  Keep it up.

as for me i can not even write straight english. so there is no hope for me to contribute a thing. but i have a very voracious appetite on arts and poems and good books. i read very thing that comes my way. i can't wait for the other claymaniacs to show us their talents.

Clay's Fiddlin' Poet

« Reply #15 on: April 16, 2004, 01:33:55 PM »

THE MAMMOGRAM MAGAZINE CAPER

As I walked in on that October day,
All of a sudden, I had thoughts of Clay.
The mammogram office did look just the same.
Yet, there was something...twas hard to explain.

Wow!  Then it hit me!  All those magazines!
Our Clay was in them, waiting to be seen!
So very quickly, I did get busy.
"Don't call my name yet!"  (I'm here in a tizzy!)

Newsweek and People and even an Us
Had pictures and words... too much to discuss.
Clay here and Clay there!  I was in heaven.
My stack of mags had soon grown to be seven!

I hear my name, so it's time to go back,
And of course with me goes my precious stack.
Into the cubby to change to a smock,
Making quite sure that the door I do lock.

Quickly, through each magazine I do zoom,
(Please, don't knock yet on the door to my room!)
Tearing out only the things about Clay.
(How long do I have?  How long can I stay?)

There is a knock, and I have my exam.
Everything's fine, so a big "Thank you, ma'am!"
It's time to change and then be on my way.
So with my Clay stuff, I bid all, "Good day!"

What can I say, and how can I explain?
What is my excuse?  Could I be insane?
The mags were old and soon bound for a dump.
I can't bear things about Clay in a lump!

I did my duty.  I have no regrets.
I rescued Clay pictures, please do not forget!
If you must judge me, do not be too rash.
But I would do it..again in a flash!!!

Clay's Fiddlin' Poet

« Reply #16 on: April 17, 2004, 05:34:51 AM »

Just a postscript to the above poem.  There were actually only 4 or 5 magazines with things about Clay. I did leave the magazines, minus Clay  , for others to read.  My copay was $25 for the office visit, and my insurance actually paid 100%, so the doctor's office came out ahead $25. :D

Normally, I would never tear out anything from a magazine in a doctor's office, but there's something about..............Clay! 8)
