Great article and it's good to know how Mr. Sedaka feels about OMC.

I knew that he would be number one. I can't wait to see the numbers either! Great articles, Pamela. Our boy is here to stay! (Though his CD hasn't arrived in the record stores up here yet. )

All right Pamela. I am waiting. Come on. Say it. Tell me that Clay is going to be coming to Montana for one of these summer concerts.
I'm still waiting....
Ummm.... I don't hear you yet.
*sighs*

Thanks to American Idol promotion and a new single, RCA’s Clay Aiken (#20) returned to the charts, while Capitol’s up-and-coming rockers Yellowcard broke through at #48.
This is an excerpt from the story on Norah Jones at HDD.

The singles chart tends to perk up around the time of American Idol, and after weeks of singles earning Number Ones with sales under 10,000, Idol vet Clay Aiken stomped all over the chart with "The Way/Solitaire," which sold a whopping 100,000 copies in its debut week.

Well, I must say I am shocked!
I thought his single would sell much more than 100,000. We'll see where the numbers go from here. It's a long way to 1 million. I know a lot of people were having trouble finding it. I just figured that it would be more. I know for a single that's good, but....
Do we have any way of finding out what TITN/BOTW single sold the first week?
I guess I figured everyone who bought a CD would buy this single cause of Solitaire, plus his new fans.
100,000 if fantastic, of course!!! More will sell, I'm sure, as word of mouth spreads about the fantabulousness of Solitaire!!!
