It's Super Bowl Sunday!  May the best team (Panthers) win!

Today's words of wisdom:

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...."
-Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss!)

Let's start off this glorious Sunday with some gratuitous mentions of Clay in the media.  These people know how to get website hits!

IT’S THE SUPER BOWL, YOU KNOW YOU’LL WATCH

Quote
Some people claim they DON'T watch the Super Bowl, but they cannot be trusted. They are the same people who try to seem superior to you by bugling the fact they do not own a TV. The kind of people who take insane pleasure in claiming they have never heard of Clay Aiken.

MIAMI HERALD LINK

FROM PEOPLE MAGAZINE (February 9, 2004)

This issue of People has an article about the presidential candidates wives, who could be our potential First Ladies.

Here is the information provided for John Edwards' wife:

- After death of son Wade, 16, in a '96 car crash, Elizabeth, 54, had two children with the help of fertility treatments.
- Cherishes her $11 wedding ring.
- Voted for Clay on American Idol.

AND FINALLY, WHO DOES CLAY PICK TO WIN THE SUPER BOWL?

Quote
"I say Carolina. Hello! Why? Besides the fact that I lived in Charlotte? That's pretty much all the reason I need." -- Clay Aiken, singer (American Idol, Measure of a Man)

THE KID IS A QUICK STUDY

Quote
HOUSTON – As today's kickoff draws closer, parties are spreading faster than mosquitoes in a Houston summer.

(snip)

Existing in the same stratosphere is the home of John and Rebecca Thrash, who threw a charity-benefit bash for Best Buddies. Paris Hilton dropped by and, like everyone else, got to gaze at the marble floors, valet parking and mini-red carpet with spots reserved for the likes of CNN.

American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken lounged on a couch in a brown pinstripe suit and said the rise from obscurity to Super Bowl party circuit was "neat." Then, like a Hollywood vet, he repeated, "No questions, no questions." The kid is a quick study.

Mark this day on the calendar, February 1st, 2004 !  This may be the ONLY day in history that I disagree with both Pamela and Clay.

GO PATS !

Although I cant fault Clay just because he lived in a town with an inferior team to New England  Wink:

FOX WIELDS A BIG CLUB CALLED AMERICAN IDOL

Quote
Idol will have a shot at being the top-rated series [for the season], particularly if it builds in the same respect it did last year," says John Rash, a senior vice president at Campbell Mithun advertising agency in Minneapolis. "The key to build beyond that will be to have as compelling figures as Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard were in the previous incarnation. It's yet to be determined that that level of talent and competition will emerge."

Interesting isn't it that in most American Idol talk it is Clay and Ruben rather than Ruben and Clay.  It really is true that although Clay didn't win he really is the star.  I know we feel it here, but it is really nice that the world seems to feel it too.

As somebody said at the beginning of the Super Bowl yesterday, "Tomorrow every team will be undefeated".  So I say:  THIS IS THE YEAR FOR THE CHICAGO BEARS! ("da Bearsssss").

Oops, I forgot to say something else:  GO BEARS!!!  The Bears will be playing at Superbowl 2005 AND Clay will be the star of the half-time show (especially after the x-rated fiasco of 2004!)!!
