Good Evening!
I went to my doctor's office to have my blood pressure checked. The nurse at our church has been concerned that it is high when she checks. It was 137 over 74, so not nearly as high at the doctor's office. My doctor's nurse told me to go back on my previous BP prescription that has a diuretic in it.
I also made an appointment for a physical exam in April.
Then I stopped at Market Street Grocery and bought a pork tenderloin; I have a recipe I want to try. Then a stop at my bank for some cash!
When I came home, our friend who works here during the week and lives in East Texas stopped by before he started home for his weekend. Today is his birthday and he is 66. His birthday is three days after the dogs and he is 60 years older than them. This will help me keep up with how old the dogs always are; the second digit of his age!
Skip wanted to get out so we went for a drive; so nice to have the daylight so much later now. We stopped at Chapp's for a burger and fries. I tried to be good and said no mayo, just mustard on both our burgers.
I'm glad you all enjoyed the St. Patrick's brunch food pictures. Delicious meal and I still have some leftovers here!
The hash brown casserole is scrumptious and the recipe is printed out in the Recipe Swap thread. Remember, that youngest sister did not like onions in it, so it's your choice.
JoAnn did ask me if I was interested in going to Reno for the concert, but I really am not. I would like to see Clay perform, but I would rather go somewhere a little closer. Our yard is so "demanding" in the summer that I really hate to travel then. Skip and I will go to Branson, possibly in April, and at some point down to Houston to see my niece and Taylor and the new great nephew!!
Pepe,
The new stove sounds wonderful! I know you will enjoy baking in it. If we ever replace our oven, I am thinking of a convection/regular oven combination. The food was delicious. Youngest sister is a great hostess and really good at preparing spectacular spreads!! She is on her Spring Break from teaching Kindergarten and left today to join her husband in New York. (He travels a lot on business.) She will return on Sunday.
I have never had sausage gravy with biscuits, and now I am a fan!! Absolutely delicious and probably fattening!
Skip is actually talking about putting up the green house soon!
We shall just wait and see!
Sharon,
I believe youngest sister put green food coloring in the eggs when she was mixing them up; the same for the sausage/egg casserole. The hash brown casserole was delicious.
Betty,
I lived alone for about four years after my first marriage ended and before I met Skip. I learned to be really independent being on my own. Sorry to hear that Shirl is not feeling well.
Frankie,
Sounds like a good buy at the Dollar Store. I am always finding some neat things at the Dollar Tree or Big Lots.
I hope you all have a restful evening!

JoAnn - I will worry about you anyway - will give me something to do!
Betty and JoAnn and anyone else considering going to Reno - I jus talked to Shirl - she is so sick, but wonders if she should go to Reno. She called the casino, too, and they told her that there are still good seats left. They also said she should call back in the next day or so if she wants one of them! Clay is not a sell out yet, but they think he might sell out. I told Shirl to buy a ticket and sell it later, but she said hers would be a wheelchair seat, and she might not be able to sell it. I think she would plan to go in a minute if she was not feeling so sick.
Betty - here is a
for the tough old bird!
Just gave the boys baths, so now of course I need one, too. They played outside with their Daddy in the garden all evening and came in looking like mud balls. Going to say Good Night to the OCD now, even though I may be on site later working. Sweet Dreams, everyone!!!
Prissy - We are here at the same time! You had a great evening - I love times like that - just getting out and catching a quick hambuger for supper. I feel the same way about Clay - glad everyone else is getting to see him, but right now I want to spend money on my yard and on buying some new clothes.

FRANKIE and PRISSY, if my health wasn't so bad I would have maybe thought about going to Reno but spent all that money on a new stove, I will be content in listening to Clay's new CD soon. FRANKIE we are supposed to go back to winter weather th is weekend also. Today another day of sunshine and 60 degree temps and tomorrow rain/snow and in the 30's. That is when hubby and son will be crawling under the house running a gas line for my new stove.
BETTY, you are so funny. You are a tough old bird huh? Well I guess I am to than. I keep bouncing right back and am sure I will live a lot longer than so many times I think I will. Any more tests coming up for the Lupus??????
JOANN, I also will be worrying about you going by yourself. Keep your doors locked and don't talk to strangers!!!!!
DUDLEY, I don't think I am crazy yet, please tell me you had shoulder surgery a while ago. Have to condition my hair or try to. It is so dry and brittle a combination I think of all the pills I take.
GLORY, what is up with you today? Any plans for the weekend? My weekends are just like weekdays nothing special, not like when I worked and had tons to do on the weekends.
PRISSY I can't wait to see that greenhouse go up!!!! What fun you could have been growing your plants for your pots . sounds like a trip to Many to Frankie's house for some ferns for the woods nd greenhouse would be fun also.

Good Morning Everyone!
Pepe--Thank you
I'll be fine. I'll bring my heavy boot and knock anyone in the head that gives me trouble!
Sharon--Thanks for the coffee. I've decided to stop drinking ANY diet sodas from Thursday===Sunday evening. Hoping this will help on Monday's scales!
I haven't had a diet drink since Wednesday and don't even miss them and I LOVE diet cherry 7 UP!
I'm loading up on oranges this week. I seem to not do too well when I take vitamins, stomach bloats after a few days and get stopped up. So, oranges are my way of getting vitamin C in me. I don't like orange juice because I can "taste" the sugar in it. We've been getting a bag of navel oranges from Sam's Club. They are wonderful.
HOPEFULLY I GET THE STITCHES OUT THIS MORNING!!!!!! MY APPOINTMENT IS AT 10:30. I'M BRINGING MY LEFT SHOE, JUST IN CASE!
HOPE THAT IF I DO HAVE TO KEEP A PROTECTIVE SHOE ON, IT WILL NOT BE THE DREADED BOOT!

Good Morning!
Meals on Wheels and some of our usual errands today. I am not buying bread from the bread store any more because I have to throw it out so soon. We do like the Hostess Honey Nut cereal, and the Hostess bread store is the only place we have found it. Bread, fruit, milk, eggs, etc. from Braum's Ice Cream store.
Pepe,
I am hoping
the Green House will be up before it starts getting really hot. It sounds like you are feeling better; not as much pain. That is good to hear!
Frankie,
Skip and I feel like as long as we have our health, we want to keep enjoying life; and taking time just to take a drive or go to a museum or a botanic gardens. After all, we are retired and have a lot of time to do these things. Of course, we are using some of our time to help others, too!
Sharon,
Thanks for the breakfast! We actually still have some leftovers from youngest sister's St. Patrick's Day brunch, so will finish them off this morning!
Glory,
It is good we have the temporary site to pop over to when this site is down or if we lose this one. It looks like many have stepped in to save lots of threads that we have here.
JoAnn,
I do hope you get the stitches out and don't have to wear the boot anymore. Last evening, Skip's foot ached a little bit (where he had the bunion surgery), but when he went to bed and this morning, no pain at all.
Hello to all checking in and/or reading and have a Fabulous Friday!
In case you were wondering about my avatar, here is a larger picture of it with Shadow and Sandy and Easter eggs that should shimmer!!

Good Morning!
Pepe - it is going to be 74 degrees today - rain tomorrow (I hope Kaitlyn can have her soccer game before the rains get here), then cold on Sunday - not sure how cold. Looks like our family in Memphis may be dealing with some more snow. I wish Prissy could make it here someday - but I think it is a lot cheaper for her to just buy plants than to drive 5 hours each way to get free plants!
I truly wish someone would come by and take half of what is in the greenhouses.
Sharon -
I read about you losing your uncle - didn't understand if he was your Dad's brother, or your Mom's brother. I am sorry for your loss. I had some wonderful aunts and uncles (My Dad was one of 13 children). There were times in my childhood that I really needed their love and support. Please give my sympathy to your family, too.
Prissy - there was a group from TCU on the Today Show (standing outside on the Plaza with signs). They made some sort of hand sign that was supposed to be a horned toad - I thought of you!
We always keep bread, rolls, buns, etc. in a drawer in the refrigerator - especially in summer. With just the two of us, it ruins if we don't.
JoAnn - Good Luck at your doctor's appointment - hope the boot is gone for good!
I meant to mention that Walmart is having some good sales. All of their long sleeved t-shirts are on clearance - for $3! I am wearing one today. I also found Kaitlyn the cutest soccer shirt - it has soccer balls on it, and says "This Girl's Got Game".
I'm going to be here on the computer most of the day - plan to work an hour here, then take an hour off (my eyes start to cross after an hour and I need a break). May bake a cake for my friend's son (I will call her first to see how he is doing).
Have a great

PRISSY, you mentioned before about never having biscuits and gravy . They are my favorite. Whenever I came home to stay and visit with my mom she would ask me what I wanted for supper and I would say biscuits and gravy mom and maybe your famous chcolate pie. My favorite. If you have a Mcdonalds near you and are out for breakfast they serve great biscuits and gravy too along with the Cracker Barrell and most other restaurants.
FRANKIE, I go thru a lot of bread to that goes stale on me but my squirrels love bread so much that we give it to them every few days along with their peanuts, corn and sunflower seeds. We are now putting oranges on the trees for the woodpeckers and the squirrels have developed a taste for them to. Originally the oranges on the trees were for the Baltimore Oriols that come home in the spring but everyone else loves them too it seems.
SHARON, such a lovely card I got from you today. Love getting cards and the wonderful thoughts behind them. Like I said before you have had enough sadness in your family lately. The last two years has been very hard for you and your family .

Sharon--So sorry for the loss of you uncle.
THE STITCHES ARE OUT!!!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS, HURT, HURT, HURT, DID I MENTION THAT IT HURT TAKING THEM OUT? OUCH!!!!! It burned so much, a kept jumping/twitching and the nurse had to keep stopping and say,"Try to be still, I have SHARP scissors!"
I still twitched some more!
Anyway, after what seemed like an hour (probably just a few minutes!) they were out and it's now a go!
I've been cleared to "alternate" with the boot and good shoe for the next two weeks. If I have a shoe on, I will need to wear the mule brace or the ace bandage to keep the the foot compressed. NO CRUTCHES OR WALKER EITHER.
I'VE BEEN CLEARED TO SWIM. YEAH!
I CAN ALSO GO TO THE GYM AND EXERCISE ONLY SITTING DOWN! NO STANDING OR LEG EXERCISING YET.
Now I can take a bath! I still have my foot marked "7 MT" meaning the bone they removed. I also need to wiggle, press, bend my left foot at least 3 times a day. I go back to see the progress on March 31!
I going to start using the gym pool then sit in the dry heat sunna for awhile as many days each week as possible!

I'm going to get up from the computer for a while and go outside, since this is the last warm, sunny day we will have for a while.
JoAnn -
that your foot is healing well - hope it heals completely soon.
Pepe - We enjoy feeding the birds, too - I will be gald to see the hummingbirds back, but hope they stay South until it is warm for good here.
Jan - I love bargain shopping - I will believe you are sending me photos when I see them!!!
I would like to sve the Pet Thread and the Magazine Thread, but I do not know if I will get to them - there are 50 more pages of the ANN to do - and there are 25 days on each page!!!! I just finished 2005, and will start 2006 this afternoon, but my arm is numb from clicking, and I am going outside for a while - just to sit in the swing and watch the ducks. Everyone is doing as much as they can -maybe it will all get saved.
Glory - there is so much to do to our yard - I would like for it to look nice again.
Have a great afternoon, everyone!

Good Afternoon!
We are having that same gorgeous weather many of you are having. It is supposed to be in the mid 70's but rain tonight and tomorrow and then a temperature drop!!
After our Meals on Wheels deliveries, Skip and I ran several errands: Home Depot, Lowe's, and Costco. Then we stopped at the Hot Chocolates shop and yes, we bought a big chocolate brownie that we are going to only eat a small bit at a time!
A stop at Tom Thumb for Ocean Spray Cranberry/Grape juice (on sale!), gas in the van and then home! (Pepe, we forgot to go to Braum's!!)
We ordered online several batches of caldium bulbs and found some that are sun tolerant, and some that are not so tall that will be good in some of my planter boxes!
I am going to go out and sit in the swing for a while and let the dogs run around in the back yard. Usually we keep them between the two gates and in the driveway area. The very back of our lot is not totally fenced, and they could get out if they went that far back!
Jan,
Our dogs are nice looking and really fairly well behaved! Because they were from the same litter, they really look like twins except for their different coloring; Shadow, a tricolor and Sandy, a sable!! I just love bargains and it looks like you have found some good ones!
Pepe,
I never thought I would like biscuits and gravy, so this is a "new food" for me!!
Now, I think I may be addicted to it. Especially, the sausage gravy with biscuits.
Skip is still talking about having his son help him and getting a start on the greenhouse.
Frankie,
When I mentioned you have lots of extra plants, Skip said, "When are we leaving?" I still want to see your place and now that Jennie is doing so much better, I'm hoping that the four of us: JoAnn, Jennie, Skip and I can make this trip and also go to Nachitoches, too! We are expecting your weather so need to see what needs to be done outside this afternoon.
JoAnn,
Good news about your foot! No more crutches or walker and less time with the boot!!
I thought that the Pet Thread had been saved, but I don't see it on the list Michelle posted. Here is a link to:
MICHELLE'S LIST OF SAVED THREADS
I hope you are all enjoying a gorgeous afternoon!

Frankie,
Tweet! Tweet! Thank you.
Got back from my carotid ultrasound, won"t know the results
until I see my cardilogist on the 30th.
Shirl sounded so sick and said she is feeling pretty bad.
I hope she calls the doctor today.been having this problem for a while.
More concerts are popping up so I hope she will be well enough to
get to one of them.
I really was"nt thinking of going to Reno, more inclined to try for
the Biltmore. Hoping he comes closer. I"ll see if Corina is interested
in any of them.
I think you and all the other people trying to save our stuff deserve
medals!!!
Off to cook my SALMON!!!
Betty
