             Pepe,
I"m so sorry you are in such pain, your bones must be very brittle.

It"s nice that you have your son with you, just enjoy him.

            Glory,
It"s wonderful you are able to enjoy your grandchildren,
I bet they love their Grandma and having  tea parties.

That takes me back a good many years.

Just checking in on all of you..........

lolita - I hope your MIL's surgery will go well, and that she has a good recovery.

Betty - I have tried all of the flavors of rice cakes that I can find. They are a good snack, because 2 of them is only one point on Weight Watchers. I've tried plain, caramel corn, apple cinnamon, butter flavor (tastes a little like popcorn at the movies), and chocolate. There many be other flavors, but I haven't noticed them if there are. I usually have 2 with a cup of coffeee or hot chocolate (Swiss Miss diet - 25 calories per cup - zero points on WW) in the afternoon.

We are having one of those beautiful sunny days where you would think it would be warm, but it's not - it's really cold outside - mid 40s  I tried to walk outside, but the wind was too cold.

If we can find a sitter for the boys this weekend, we may go on a  bus trip. Someone had to cancel at the last minute, and we just got a call from the local person who schedules the trips. It is only a trip to Mississippi, where there are several casinos (we don't gamble much), but there are also lots of antique shops, other shopping, and restaurants. Might be fun to get away - we'll see what happens.

Pepe - hope you get to check in. I've had an exciting day of cleaning floors Laughing Paranoid - now I am about to go figure out something for supper. I have a roast cooked that no one is eating - I may turn it into soup!!!

HI FRIENDS

I HATE TO SAY IT, BUT I MISS MY JUMPING COMPUTER AT THE HOUSE. AT LEAST I COULD GET IN TOUCH MORE OFTEN.
I HAVE TEN MINUTES BEFORE I HAVE TO DASH BUT HAD TO STOP BY AND SAY "HI: TO YOU ALL  wave wave

TONIGHT IS OUR DINNER OUT, THE THREE OF US; WE CHOSE A MEXICAN PLACE FOR THE EVENING MEAL, CALLED EL ADOBE. IT HAS THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD EVER!!!!

BEEN BUSY WITH MY NEW ETCHING AND THE MEETINGS ARE PILING UP AND THE DR. AND THE DENTIST, ETC.

PRISSY
SO SAD ABOUT YOUR BACK. I WAS ON PAIN PILLS EVERY FOUR HOURS AND I HATED IT, SO TALKED TO MY DR. AND HE CHANGED MY MEDS. NOW I TAKE A VERY POTENT ONE ABOUT SIX IN THE MORNING, WATCH TV IN BED WHILE THE PILL TAKES ITS EFFECT, AND VOILA, I CAN GET UP AND HAVE NO, NO, PAIN UNTIL ABOUT TWO IN THE AFTERNOON. SO MAYBE YOUR DR. CAN PRESCRIBE SOMETHING THAT LASTS A LITTLE LONGER.  GOOD IDEA TO GET A LIGHTER PURSE TOO. INSTEAD I WENT OUT AND BOUGHT A BIG, HUGE PURSE. WHEN MY SON GAVE ME A GIFT CARD FOR MY BIRTHDAY THIS MONTH I FELL IN LOVE WITH A PURSE I HAVE NO BUSINESS HAVING. IT COST ME FIFTY NINE DOLLARS AND IT WAS IN THE BOUTIQUE. A CHANEL WITH HUGE C ON IT. I FEEL A LITTLE FOOLISH CARRYING IT, TOO RICH FOR ME. I AM USED TO USING A JEAN PURSE.

BETTY
WE ARE SURE IN THE SAME BOAT. ARE YOU TAKING LOTS OF PILLS TOO FOR YOUR SPINAL STENOSIS. IF YOU WANT I CAN GIVE YOU THE NAME OF THE ONE THAT HAS REALLY SET ME FREE.\

I TRIED AGAIN TO USE MY PHOTOBUCKET. SO MANY PICS I WOULD LIKE TO SEND, HATE TO IMPOSE MY STUPIDITY ON OTHERS SO HAVE NOT SENT THE PICS BY E MAIL TO BE SEEN. BUT I MAY DO JUST THAT SOON.

I DREW OUT A PLAN FOR A PLACE TO PUT ALL MY DRAGONFLY PINS. LARRY, MY ANGEL SON IS GOING TO BUILD IT FOR ME AS SOON AS HE HAS TIME.
THIS WEEKEND HE IS TAKING A CEREBRAL PALSY BOY TO SEE REBA MCINTYRE IN ORLANDO. THE CPF HAS MANY PEOPLE WHO LIKE TO SPONSOR TRIPS FOR THEIR HANDICAPPED PEOPLE AND OF COURSE LARRY IS USUALLY THE VOLUNTEER DRIVER. NATURALLY THE PEOPLE THERE ARE ALL IN LOVE WITH HIM. WISH HE WOULD FIND A NICE LADY BUT HE SAYS HE IS NOT LOOKING ANYMORE , AFTER THE LAST ONE BROKE HIS HEART. HE IS VERY SENSITIVE. I AM GOING TO STOP OR I WILL BE IN TEARS.

SHARON
GOOD LUCK ON YOUR SALES. DO YOU SELL EARRINGS??? I LOVE THEM BUT DO NOT HAVE PIERCED EARS AND CANNOT ACCORDING TO MY DR. SO I WEAR THE OTHERS. BUT THEY ARE NOT LIKE I LIKE THEM, DANGLY. MY BEST GIRLFRIEND WHO PASSED AWAY ABOUT FIVE YEARS AGO MADE ME ONE THAT I LOVE. JUST LOTS OF NEAT BEADS AND A CAT ON THE END. I WAS WEARING MY HAIR ON ONE SIDE SO WEARING JUST ONE EARRING. ANYWAY, DO YOU HAVE ANY DANGLY EARRINGS FOR NON PIERCED EARS.

OOPS MY TEN MINUTES ARE GONE, WAY GONE.

LOVE TO THOSE I DID NOT MENTION.
GLORY, AND SHIRLEY, FEEL BETTER!!!!!!!

LOVE
JAN
NOT JEANNE ANYMORE AS I THINK YOU GET JENNIE AND ME MIXED UP.

I'M LATE!!!!!! Naughty

Clay's Fiddlin' Poet

Good Evening!

We had a good time at Jennie's Birthday luncheon at the Zodiac Room of Neiman Marcus in west Fort Worth.  We were surprised at how many people were at the restaurant today.  We usually have our Birthday Luncheons on Saturday's but now we are all retired and can get together during the week.  And today, is Jennie's actual birthday.  Jennie looked lovely and I do have pictures;  just need to get them into Photobucket.

We have decided to not give gifts but cards from now on.   But we did do different things for Jennie.  One friend paid for Jennie's lunch and ordered desserts for all of us.  Another friend brought a beautiful container of flowers for Jennie and flowers for the rest of us, too.  I put Braum's gift cards into Jennie's birthday card.  I know she likes Braum's hamburgers and shakes!

For Pepe and food fans, I did not order the light lunch of salads or quiche or soup!!  I ordered the pot roast with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables!  It was delicious and so filling I brought home my dinner this evening from Soul Food at church  (pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, biscuits and gravy, salad, and carrot cake!!)   Tomorrow I will have lunch in the Tea Room after our Whitlock Club meeting, so I am going to encourage Skip to have the pork chops meal for his lunch tomorrow!!

I'm glad you all enjoyed the pictures of Jennie.  JoAnn can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Jennie is 16 in the "young" Jennie picture.  JoAnn posted it one time, and I saved it in my PHotobucket!!

Jennie is such a sweetheart and we are all so glad she is feeling so much better since the surgery.  I know she has days when she needs to rest, but she also has many good days, too!

Pepe,
I wish there was a surgery or something that could put you on the path of good health and especially to get rid of your pain.   Many of us here are praying for you that you will find some relief from the pain and start to have "good days."  Hug

Sharon,
I know that your next "business sales trip" will be better!

Betty,
I agree that I need to limit my time at the computer and that may help my back pain.

Frankie,
Sounds like a fun trip!  Skip and I need to decide when we will go to Branson.  I am thinking more in the Spring time and when I don't have any playing gigs!

I am not watching AI, but have enough shows I am involved watching!! shock

I hope everyone has a lovely evening!  Hug

Hi Monica wave

Thank you for Mom's birthday  greetings!  She enjoyed them so much.

Prissy--Thanks for Mom's photos. Yes, the first one was her "Sweet 16" photo.   The luncheon was great and the group was so nice to Mom.  When we got home, she had 7 phone messages and one friend from church brought her a wonderful homemade pie.

I was good, I passed on the all the desserts at lunch.  I had a seared salmon salad BUT I did have two homemade popovers with some strawberry butter!  blush

I ended up doing a total of 30 minutes on my stair stepper and for my weight, that burned 360 calories.  I also cleaned out the entire freezer in our garage for the morning trash.  It was so sad to throw away all that food but we didn't trust it after 4 days of no electricity.

Sammy is getting a good brushing every day so that I can help him shed his winter coat.  This afternoon, he started to nod  off while I was brushing him.  I had to stop, put him in my lap and let him "rest" a bit.  Then, we went through a 5 minute bout of him putting his left paw on my arm when I stopped the brushing.  I had to keep putting the combed off hair in a bag and it "looked" like he was trying to say, "Wait, don't stop,  this feels good!"

Jeanne - good to see you here. I know you had a good supper out with your son and husband. It would not be any problem for us to post photos for you.

Sharon - sorry sales weren't better today - maybe if Spring ever gets here, people will feel more like buying new things.

JoAnn and Prissy - sounds like Jennie had a great birthday! Your group sounds like a really good group of friends.

wave Monica - I have missed you!

Well, we are going on the trip - and it is not a casino trip, even though Natchez has casinos  Clapping Natchez is an old, historic, Mississippi River town. It has loads of antique shops and other places of interest. We're leaving here at 8 Friday morning, and will have lunch at and will tour a nearby plantation. I don't know what is planned for Friday night and Saturday during the day, but we are to attend a dinner theatre Saturday night.  This is so last minute - I will pick up an itinerary in the morning so that I can give the kids a copy.  I am not a last minute kind of person, but we could hardly pass this up. The lady who had to cancel was the tour guide's helper, so in exchange for helping - just making sure that no one gets lost and that everyone is safe and stays together - we were offered this trip for free.  We've been on these bus trips before, and they are fun. The only bad thing, is that I have no clothes that fit. I was waiting to lose a little more weight before buying new clothes. But I will manage somehow. There is no time to shop tomorrow. I love old, historic buildings - here is our hotel:

EOLA

Betty - I just talked to Shirl - she sounds good!

Hope everyone has a Good Night - see you tomorrow.
