G'morning, all...

Getting ready for PT (only today, tomorrow and Wednesday left!), so I thought I'd stop in for a couple minutes and get caught up with my reading from yesterday.  Wow...you guys are CHATTY!  Laughing

My little granddaughter is so danged cute, but that child had a meltdown yesterday to rival ALL meltdowns!  Sheesh!  We were sitting in the kitchen (Dylan, Kylee & myself).  Kylee was sitting on my lap and the kids were eating cheetos.  When they got done, I had to pee REALLY badly, so I set her across the gate into the family room with her grandpa.  Man...you would've thought I was killing her!!!  This went on for a good 15 minutes...even after I was out of the bathroom.  I love that little one, but she is ... shhh...  spoiled.

I took each of them a movie yesterday and Dylan went upstairs to get his laptop (old Mac that belonged to my son) so he could watch it.  When he got to the kitchen, I was at the table drinking coffee and my son was at the kitchen counter making himself a cup in the Keurig.  Dylan set his laptop on the table and put the disk in--which wouldn't play.  I almost choked when he said..."dada...I think my puter has issues."  Now...that was hillarious!

Anyway, later (after dinner), I was (again) sitting at the table with Dylan and he was telling me that when he grows up, he's going to have a BIG house...same "tall" as his house now, but WAY longer (his words).  This house is going to have 30 rooms and I am going to be living in his house in my own room.  He's going to have a swimming pool, too.  I asked him if he's going to have a lot of money and he said.."no...not really."  Laughing

After that, he picked out a good number of books for me to read to him.  At one point, he wanted to read to me, so I was sitting listening to him make up his "reading."  After he finished, I said..."thank you, sweetie...that was a GOOD story and you did a good job!"  He looked at me and asked, "were you 'pressed?"  rofl

Okay...enough of the grandkids, right?  But...I got more than a few laughs yesterday for sure....and one "ut-oh" with Kylee (even if it was a long one).  Laughing

Evelyn...I'm sorry your friend has gone home.  I'm sure it's awfully quiet there now, huh?  Just keep thinking..."May...May...May..."  Wink

I was THRILLED to see Ann and Chrisie were here!!!  You guys are really missed around here, you know!  I also know that life sometimes gets in the way of guilty pleasures, but please try to stop in and see us more often (if you can).

Anyway....gotta get myself moving here.  Still have to curl my hair and finish getting ready.

If any of you are going out.....be careful out there and try to stay WARM!!!  TTYL!

MARILYN, you made my day today by telling me about  your day yesterday!   You mentioned Kylee's temper, I am glad I thought it was only Preston who could turn on a dime with his horrible temper.  I couldn't believe the screaming fit cause his dad wouldn't let Preston eat the snow off of his boots.  That red hair is going to get him into big trouble.  I am so glad you got to spend the day with the kids.   Yep Dylan comes up with some cute phrases .   I remember that show years ago that Art Linkletter  used to have I think the name of it was "kids say the darnest things" or something like that.  They are so cute cause they are so innocent.

EVELYN, so very sorry you are lonely now, but it is always like that when you have company.  What a wonderful friendship you share with Bozena though.  Why is it toasters don't last that long!!  I wished you would go visit Bozena in March or April when the weather is really bad in your area.  My gosh though it was cold in Florida yesterday.

SHARON, thanks for breakfast, yep don't want to mention that word Fo *d, Brenda might be watching.

BECKY did you take the bus trip to the UP gambling?

SPIKEE,  Huggles  you must be a brain, how can you put that many puzzles together that fast.  I am really impressed!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, sweet Shirley...

Well, Dylan has a little temper, too and used to have meltdowns, but I think Kylee took the prize yesterday.  Sheesh!  I just looked at my son and said..."okaaaay...and you just let her DO this?"  Of course, they baby her and her mom raced down the stairs to get her away from her big, bad grandma because I wanted to put her in time out.  Oh well...I wish them LOTS of luck in the future.  When she gets bigger, they are going to have a serious problem methinks.

Oh yeah...forgot one thing about that house Dylan is going to have.  He told me it will be "in the city...not in the forest."  He thinks my house (because of the woods in the back) is in the forest.  rofl

Oh, yikes!  Better get breakfast going before Sharon gets here and scolds me for not doing it!  The Keurig is ALWAYS ready...so help yourself to your favorite blend...or hot chocolate or tea.  Since I'm getting ready to get out of here, have a stack of Panera bagels ready with both low fat and regular cream cheese, flavored and plain.  Also have applesauce and a large fruit bowl.  Have various flavors and brands of yogurt for those of you who like that stuff.  Laughing  If you want a hot breakfast, the tea kettle is whistling on the stove and the instant oatmeal is on the counter...various flavors.  Somebody PLEASE stop that whistling sound!!! Egads!  Wink

Okay....back to curling my hair!

Thanks for the coffee and brakfast this morning ladies.  Think I'll have a soft boiled egg from Sharon and a bagel from Marilyn

ShirleyROFLMAO  That made me laugh this morning.   Clapping  No brain here.
I have a hard time remembering way to many things these days.  I just like doing puzzles.  I just finished #5.  I have one more that I haven't done yet, but I think I won't start it until tonight.  I have to babysit this afternoon and I do have to get something done around here today.  When I do a puzzle, nothing else gets done.   blush  (I just don't like doing puzzles with lots of sky, trees, & water.  To much of the same stuff.)

The Eyes have it!

« Reply #1685 on: January 04, 2010, 07:53:43 AM »

Good morning ladies,

I see everyone is busy today. I put my tree and Xmas decor away a couple of days ago. Still have to deal with all those toys and no idea where to even start. Cristien's little room is already "stuffed" and so is the basement. Wish it were summer so I could have a garage sale. I also need some big boxes - maybe I can get Chris to do that for me today.

Shar and Shirley, go ahead and discuss your food. I am well into my second day and am not having any big "attacks." I am handling this the same way I did when I stopped smoking - stay totally calm and the cravings will go away shortly. Believe it or not, that really works. I am just keeping my head preoccupied with old movies. Yesterday was difficuilt only because of the gallon of that crap I had to drink (a glass every 15 minutes). It took me four hours to get it all down and I was so happy when I finally finished it. Only one more smaller bottle today and I will be home free. I do think I will never eat lime jello again, although I have not eaten as much as I thought I would. It is just not the same without the whipped cream.

Evelyn, stay busy today with all your plans and that should ease your loneliness. At least you do have May to look forward to, lucky you!

Kim, I feel so bad for you. Those temperatures in Florida are scary. Julie and the girls are going down to Disney next week - sure hope it warms up for them, otherwise what's the point?

Barb, I really worry about you - I can't even imagine what the temp is where you are, OMG!

Becky, so glad you got to really relax and sleep in for a change. I hope you can take the next few days for yourself - you have earned them!

Chrisie, it was so nice to come into the mansion and find you here. We do miss you very much. I know you are so busy but hope you can find some time to visit every once in a while.

Ann, ditto, but you are back to work today, aren't you?!

Peggy, I like puzzles too, Every once in awhile the girls and I will tackle one. They got a Twilight New Moon one for Christmas that I am looking forward to.

Shirley, stay in, stay warm and safe. It must be bitter up there as well.

There is work so I had best get to it while it is there - later.

Good morning ladies wave What a fun time I had reading the back pages. Quite a few laughs. Mare, your grandchildren are such a joy. Emma is our terror. I won't even go into what she is like!
I took my tree and all decorations down last night. I was just planning on getting the storage boxes and everything ready to take the stuff down today, but my neighbor came over and she started helping and before I knew it all the ornaments and bows were off and only the lights were left on and my son took those down and then since that was done we took the tree apart and then we had to get the furniture back in their places and then I just had to open the box that my new lamp was in and put that on the new table and then I had to vacuum and then dust the new table so all the stuff could go back. Any way it is all done and I have the whole day free to do nothing. I don't even have to cook because I had a big turkey dinner Saturday and we are having hot turkey sandwiches today! Paul has a Dr appointment in Ann Arbor so I have what I will call a totally for me day!
It was so nice to hear from Ann and Chrisie! I think that if we do not get a concert by this summer, we should make plans to just get together just for the fun of it! I don't even care where, just so long as I get to see and hug you all Huggles Huggles Huggles
Well I am going to go make my bed, it is almost 11!!! Have some toast so I can take my daily pills, then park myself in front of the tv, and veg. I will be back later to see what you are all up to.

Back.....finally.  Man, it's COLD out there!  Brrrrrrrrrrr....   Had to put gas in the car, too.  Ugh.

Oh!  Forgot one other thing Dylan did/said.  He helped me make dinner (well...put the rolls on the baking sheet), poured the corn into the pan, put stuff in the microwave and pushed the buttons).  Anyway, later that evening..after dinner...we were in the kitchen (his dad, Dylan and I), and all of a sudden..out of the blue..he says..."Dada...I made dinner!  And grandma didn't even help!"  rofl

I've already got a load of towels in the washer.  With the holidays, my laundry has piled up a lot!  Yikes...I'll be doing laundry the rest of the day.  Oh well....better late than never!  Wink

Peggy...I used to love doing puzzles.  Some of my fondest memories are of my sis (not Bren...the other one) and I sitting up "late" (well...I was young, so late was 11:30 - midnight..lol) doing puzzles and drinking 7-Up and eating saltine crackers waiting for my brother-in-law to get home from his afternoon shift.  I still enjoy them sometimes, but most of the time anymore, my patience isn't compatible with puzzles.  Laughing

Hope everyone is WARM!

Marilyn - I love hearing about your grandchildren. The things kids say. Isn't it wonderful!!!
Shirley - why is it that our children never think we know anything about raising kids?  Laughing Laughing

Yep - I think that red hair means trouble for him and a temper.

BTW Marilyn - I totally agree with you. There should have been a time out on that one.

Anyway, from one who no longer has very young grandchildren, know that all the stories are read and enjoyed.

Peggy - Wish you could have come down for a day or two while Bozena was here. It was so much fun having you the last time.

Well, i was going to go to the shop and work on the books, but it's spitting snow out there and I'm not the great driver that most of you are so I think I'll wait until we have a really clear day. Hope it's soon.

Oh...btw....I'm not through with PT this week.  Don't know what I was thinking.  I have a couple more weeks left.  *sigh*

Oh...and...Shar...I hit my "milestone" in the weight thing.  Soon as I get one or two more pounds off, I'll tell ya.  Wink

MARILYN,  Laughing bad grandma didn't help Dylan fix Sunday dinner!!  ROFLMAO  How funny is that?   You mean your DIL lets you help cook Sunday dinner?  I think she is mellowing some!  Don't you wish you had a tape recorder so  you could record those moments when they pop out with some of those words!!!  But usually to really appreciate it you have to be there to see the expression on their little faces!   Clapping

BRENDA,  you are doing so good not griping and complaining about drinking that crap!!!!!  I am proud of you !!!!!!!! I know you will be glad to get that test over with.   Wished you could go to Florida and lay on the beach and get some warm sunshine.  After you working so darn hard for Julie and always being there for your grandkids you deserve a wonderful restful vacation just for you .

MARY, veg in front of the tv.  That is about all I can do and than darn it I fall a sleep.  I slept all night with my pain pills, took a short nap this morning and already took another short nap this afternoon.  Seems like all I want to do is sleep again like I did before when I was real sick.   Hubby says it is my body trying to heal itself.  You are so lucky  you feel well enough to get some things done.  My pain killers don't work all that well anymore.  It helps with the pain but does not take it away or allow me to stand  up enough to do something.  Sometimes I wish someone would make me a stand to stand me up against and tie me to it!    lmao Super Happy!!!

Well, that's enough for me today, I will finish tomorrow Clapping I just booked tickets to see "On Golden Pond" for Mom and I on her birthday.  She and Woody loved the movie, watched it many times, I thought she would enjoy it live. It is put on by one of Canada's premiere professional theatre companies.  The best part is we'll do lunch at a little mennonite bakery/restaurant called Anna Mae's~~~talk to me about the chocolate cream pie Thud!
