WOW, can't believe you are here, Ann - I was beginning to fear we had lost you altogether. Please don't ever stay away that long again.
Hope you are liking that job, especially since it is keeping you so busy!

Shar, yep, we have work again this morning - wonders of wonders - hope it isn't just a flash in the pan.

Have been getting all my "preps" ready - starting my two day fast and prep today for the colonoscopy. Don't know if I will be around much until it is over on Tuesday afternoon - won't want to read about food that I can't have and may be too "busy" myself. Nuff of that.

Evelyn, sounds like you and Bozena had your usual great time. It must be hard when she leaves. It's wonderful to have such a friendship!

Meesa, we need a picture!

Hi to everyone - gotta get to work while I can.

So, Sharon, why no falefals? Did they sell out or was it on the summer menu? Loved Stratford. We have to go back.

Ann, they are closing for a few weeks, as do a lot of businesses in Stratford, it's slow there this time of year, so many retailers take holidays.  They were downsizing their food of course, and the falafels are so popular they were gone three days ago.  As of today they will be closed til Feb 1st.

Thanks so much SHARON for telling me that KAREN answered me about Justin and her sis on P.  77,  for some reason I never saw the rest of the posts on a half of a page there.  I am so glad I went and read it you gals were having a ball and I so enjoyed reading your funny posts.  You guys could be stand up comedians.

KAREN, darn , darn and more darn.  I was so sure those headaches were connected to Justin's soccer or his coach or both but I guess not if he still has them.  So sorry that sis wasted so much of her time on the louse she was going with!!!!  The RTM gals could pay him a visit if you would tell her that!!!!!!!!  Hope she does sell the house so she gets out from under the mortgage.  When she came back for Thanksgiving did she act like she missed it here or was she ready to go back to the west?

Shirley, she misses her family but not Ohio, really.  Santa Fe is home to her now.  And her two canine "children," Adam and Chaco, were staying at home and she really wanted to get back to them.  We talked on the phone for nearly 2 hours last night.  I really don't think she is over this guy.  They talked for a long time on the phone last night.   He is going to worm his way back into her life, I just know it!!!   She is talking about moving to Boulder, CO after she sells the big house, and wants to keep the little house in Santa Fe for a rental for now.  She has some good friends in Boulder, and thinks she'll have more opportunities for meeting a nice man up there.  Hope she does this, and gets away from the jerk.

Karen - Poor Justin. Does aspirin help? Do you think it's related to a sports injury?  Paranoid

HI ANN!!!
How was your Christmas??  Hope you weren't so busy with work that the season stressed you out!
Justin takes 2 Advil when the headaches get really bad.  I just don't understand why he gets them.  He's been having them for years now, and really can't remember any specific sports injury that might have started this.  When he was around 4 tho, he was on his Big Wheel and fell off, had a huge bump on the back of his head for months.  That's the only thing I can think of, but he wasn't having the headaches until around junior high.

Brenda, hope the work keeps coming in!

Sharon, NO FALAFEL???? sad    Sorry, I know how much you were looking forward to that!  So what did you "settle" for instead?
Any luck shopping yesterday?
Most importantly, did the long johns do their job?? Laughing

Karen, here's two of them, thought it was the girls, was a courier Laughing B. took this one!! The angle makes it look like two but there are 3 there Wink

Thanks for digging up this picture, Sharon!  I remember them now!  And I LOVE them!  I also really like the leafy tree crawling up the wall!

Crap it was cold Karen, but the long johns did help Laughing only problem was trying on clothes and stripping off all the layers ROFLMAO I did get a few pieces of clothing made from bamboo, which I love the feel of bigsmile a cream scarf with fringe cut right into the fabric, cosy black drawstring pants for working at home, love them and a choco brown top in bamboo fabric, longer with a band at the bottom to wear over tights, so it covers my butt. Also a new lime green small platter for appies at the store with all the kitties Kitty Kitty Kitty found out they are named after the "Stooges" Mr. Curly, Mr. Moe, Mr. Shemp and Miss Larry Laughing Mr. Curly shopped with me yesterday Huggles
I settled for a mediterranean pasta salad with grilled chicken.  Very good but not my falafel

Shar, that pic was specifically for those trees, you know. Loved them! Do you like my overnight bag? Guess I could have set the pic up better and moved things out of the way. When we come next time I will do it right. Hey, I think it's about time you break down and get yourself a camera (the one that is lost is probably almost obsolete anyway). I can't believe you haven't found it, with all the redecorating and work you have had done on your house.

Well, wouldn't you know, I did one job and then no more work!   Will just keep hoping they get more. Knew I should have gotten up earlier this morning but was so tired I just lay there and dozed off and on. Dang!

Ann, the kids had a rather excessive Christmas as usual but had a great time. How about your Christmas - hope you at least found time to shop and enjoy Christmas.

Karen, it's hard when someone we love is hurting. She's lucky to have your shoulder to cry on. I think all you can do is just be there for her when she needs to vent/talk.

Shirley, how are you today? It's really bitterly cold here today but I won't be going out until my test on Tuesday so I will be toasty warm. I think you should enjoy that "good" coffee yourself!!!!!

B. my Al could have hidden it anywhere Laughing my bet is that it's still in the 10 or so boxes that I just plain ignored to go through after the flood.  I got through many, but it got a little overwhelming with memories~~nuff said.

blush Sorry for staying away so long, but having four days off gave me some ME time Purple Banana. The commute is still a killer, even when it is only 1 1/2 hours a day; worse when it is 3 hours or more.  blush Much different from the 10-minute drive. Oh well, it is what it is and I'm grateful to have a job to be able to pay some of that college tuition bigsmile

Guess we had a good time at Sharon's Huggles The pasta salad sounds great to me. I guess I should have known that they would close in the winter.  ROFLMAO Curly, Larry & Moe. Sharon - Clothes made from bamboo Paranoid

B - I hear you about the excessive. Nope. No time for cards, no time for shopping. Just making cookie jars. I think I made over 80 of them and they are all gone. Tried oatmeal-raisin this year.   Of course, I still had the ever popular triple chip.

Hi, all!

Speaking of "fur"....have any of you ever used an epilator?  I bought one some time ago and I LOVE it!  The first time you use it, it feels like little electric shocks, but after that...no problemo.  It takes forever for the hair to grow back and when it does, it's so light you can't even SEE it unless you put a light on your legs!  Sheesh!  LOVE IT!

Ann's posting brought back memories of the very first time I saw her.  We were at Carl's Chophouse downtown before a Clay concert.  She was sitting right beside me and I didn't know who she was, but she was the one who discovered her tickets were GONE.  Sweet Ann.....so trusting of everyone.  Bet she hasn't trusted a valet since then! (How many years ago WAS that, anyway?)

Okay...it's freezing out there....STAY WARM!  Gotta run to Sam's Club and get a couple of their rotisserie chickens (YUM) for dinner at my son's house, stop at the grocery to pick up some corn and rolls and then head across town to see my little grandbabies.  Haven't seen them for a week and I'm anxious to get some hugs!!!

Evelyn...sounds like you and Bozena stopped "just" short of getting into trouble!  I'm glad you had such a good time together!

Anyway....if any of you are going out (besides Sharon because she's ALWAYS out), STAY WARM and be careful out there!

Oh, I remember that night, Marilyn. Can't remember how she got into the concert though.

Yep, sometimes I think Sharon was born with wheels instead of feet - evolution where are you?

Ann, it's about time you got some "me" time. Have they said anything about when you get that office in Detroit? I know they told you you could be in an office in Detroit. At least I hope you like the job and the people. Will you be running for office anytime soon?

Julie gets sworn in on Tuesday so I may not even get to go    (depends on if the sedation has worn off). Not sure what time the swearing in is. Ends up she came in in second place - only 3  (count 'em - one, two, three) votes behind the front runner who was a popular incumbent and a former school administrator in Sylvania, and over 1500 votes ahead of the third winner. That is an incredible performance by my girl! Everyone is just astounded by the numbers, including us! Sorry for bragging again (no I'm not).

Marilyn, Kroger has good roast chickens too - as does Walmart(same as Sam's Club). I have mini Thanksgiving dinners often with those chickens, then have sandwiches, etc. for a couple of days. Cheap dinners too. Have fun and give the kids a kiss for me. I miss Cristien - it's been since Christmas morning. Actually I have only seen the girls briefly since then - they have such active social lives (and Em has swimming practice almost every day).
