2009 Champions Gala Auction Preview
October 17, 2009

We look forward to hosting you at the National Inclusion Project's annual Champions Gala.  Below is a preview of some of the items available in our auctions.  Select items are available for bid online for those who are unable to attend.  Auction proceeds will further support the Project’s mission of inclusion for all children.

Bidding Information:

If you wish to bid on an item, click underneath the description of the item on which you wish to bid, where it says *Click here to bid online*.  Please submit ONE bid per email.  Any bids under the minimum bids will not be counted.  In the body of your email, fill out the information requested. Bidding will end at 11:59pm on Friday, October 16. Winners will be notified by Wednesday, October 21.  Instructions and payment information will be given then.

We will update the site regularly with the highest bid.  The highest internet bid will become the minimum bid at either the silent auction and will be treated as a sealed bid at the live auction. If no one bids higher at the gala, the highest internet bidder will be awarded the prize. You will also be responsible for any shipping charges.  You will have the option to purchase insurance on the shipping of the item.

Gala attendees are not eligible to bid on internet items. All items online will be available for bid at the gala.  You will not receive a response to your bid entry.  Please check the website for bid updates. In the case of two or more people entering the same bid prior to an update, the bidder who bid first will be the one counted.

Quote
A boy needs a Grandpa…
For man-to-man talks,
To go hand in hand
On companionable walks,

To fix up his toys
When they no longer go,
To tell him the things
Little boys want to know.

A boy needs a Grandpa…
To show him the way
To handle a puppy,
To teach him fair play.

To impart bits of wisdom
He’s learned through the years,
That it’s no disgrace
For a man to shed tears.

A boy needs a Grandpa…
To sit on his lap
And if no one is looking,
They take a wee nap,

Each wrapped in an aura
Of love and esteem,
Each smiling gently
At some special dream.

THE EPITOME OF DECORUM

Clay Aiken was brought into the limelight by performing on a reality TV show called American Idol.  Week after week, Clay stood up and sang to millions of people all over the world.

Being a Reality show, the producers of American Idol tried to give the personal side of each Idol to the public.  Because of this, many of Clay’s fans thought they knew all about him when the show was over.  But, on October 9, 2003, fans were introduced to some of the true personal sides of Clay Aiken.

Primetime presented a 20 minute interview with Clay Aiken.  Diane Sawyer discussed a wide range of topics with Clay, including American Idol, his biological father, Vernon, his half-sister, Deb, his name change, his faults and his future.

In the interview on ABC, Clay said he had never taken himself too seriously, even during his run on American Idol.

Condolences for Clay Aiken and his family continue to pour in following the death of the beloved grandfather known to thousands through the writings of his grandson and a very special moment at the 2005 Joyful Noise Tour Concert in Raleigh.

That's the lead at Carolina On My Mind as the Clay Nation remembers Papa Aiken. Featured are "Beautiful Star" graphics by cindilu2 and AmazingCA, as well as hosaa's wonderful montage.

Thank you for your visits, hits, and comments in the Clay blogs.   Wink
