Clay Aiken: Movin' On

Remember the Jaded Journalist inteviews Clay Aiken did when on Season 2. He was quick witted, snarky, funny, intelligent, had a sharp tongue and when he spoke, he spoke his mind. Quite a few of his fans love his personality as much as they love his singing. Some don't. He's pretty much kept quiet while he was under contract but now, six years later Clay is finally free to say what he thinks.

Clay started a Question & Answer thread on his fan club message board and responded to a question about AI, Kris Allen, Adam Lambert and the current finale. Since his answer was made public you can read the unedited version at CANN. Evidently there is one "fan" who does not respect the terms that state what is said at the fan club stays at the fan club. Shame on her and her lack of respect for the other fan club members.

Clay Aiken Saves The Moment

It was a Wednesday and Clay was exhausted.  Where was he?  What was he doing?  When did he get to sleep?

Oh, yes!  It was May 28, 2003 and Clay Aiken was in New York.  He was a special guest on Good Morning America. He was going to be interviewed and sing.  Sleep is over-rated!

This fun show introduced Clay to Diane Sawyer who admitted that she was an “obsessed” fan.

Charlie Gibson was Diane’s co-anchor on the show and they had a good time talking about Clay throughout the show.  The Diane interviewed Clay.  She stated that she was surprised at how tall Clay was.  They also talked about how Clay’s life had changed in such a short time.  Diane also asked Clay about the foundation that he wanted to set up.  It was a thorough interview and Clay seemed more relaxed than at previous shows.

Clay Aiken - Katie Couric is a Fan

Back in 2003, Clay Aiken was very busy on May 26th. He and Ruben visited the Today Show. Katie Couric was the anchor back then and she presented the two American Idols to the Today Show audience. Both Clay and Ruben had been running from different TV shows, to radio interviews, to business meetings about their careers. They were obviously tired, but happy.

It was a Monday and it was Memorial Day......and it was raining hard! Katie interviewed Ruben alone and then Clay alone. Katie admitted that her younger daughter was an original Claymate. Katie took as much time with Clay as she did with Ruben. In the next segment, they all went outside with umbrellas and got under tents. Katie asked both Ruben and Clay some more questions and then Clay and Ruben performed "I'm Proud To Be An American."

Hello, ANN!   

I have a new Carolina blog entry: Newcomers Discover Clay Aiken. As of Wednesday, the Carolina site had been visited by fans from 118 countries. Looks as if a worldwide tour is in Clay's future!
