THE EPITOME OF DECORUM

« on: May 20, 2009, 10:35:31 PM »

As we come back to the show for Round 2, Ryan tells us that this will be too close to call.
Yesterday, on Idol Tonight, one former contestant compared this year’s finale to that of
Season 2, when Ruben and Clay had less than 1% of fan votes deciding who the winner was.

This could end up being true again. Kris and Adam are such different artists that they’ll attract completely
opposite crowds. However, with the phenomenon of texting enables people to cast votes despite phone
lines being busy, more votes are being cast, and results are closer than ever. (Last week, Ryan informed us
that only one million votes split Adam and Kris.)

FROM CV

From the Philly Examiner.com

Kris won last week’s coin toss, so he will sing second tonight. It’s definitely a beautiful thing to have that closing spot on the show, but we’ve seen it not be able to save contestants before. (Example: Clay Aiken’s amazingly moving performance of “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” closed out Season 2, and even  led Simon to proclaim that based on the performance, he should win – but he didn’t. At least, not in reality.
Theory is a different matter entirely

Some of the Triangle’s most talented students were recognized Monday night during the 2009 Capital Awards.

The Capital Awards is North Carolina’s version of the Tony awards. The Capital Awards is an educational outreach program honoring high school musical theatre excellence.

Local celebrities presented the awards to the students during a black tie ceremony. The ceremony also included performances from nominated schools and Clay Aiken presented the award for Outstanding Musical.
