I was glad, but surprised that Kris was safe.  I'm thinking Danny will be going home  . . . but the judges seemed to be pulling for Danny to be saved!

Daughtry sounded great.  I never liked him personally, but I think he helped give AI some credibility in bringing in someone who was successful doing rock (after Idol).

Well, crap.

I know this show manipulates the results to its own liking, so I shouldn't care one way or the other. Still, I always end up rooting for the better singers.

I'd much rather have heard another week of Allison than Danny. But that's just me. I know there are a lot of Danny fans. I think Allison is a better all around performer than Danny (better than Kris too even though I like him Laughing ).

Next week the contestants will be performing two songs each (didn't they do three in years past?).

They'll be singing a song of their own choosing in addition to a song chosen by the judges.

True, and I think it would be better for her, being so young, to start out at somewhere less than an American Idol level. Or she could be chewed up, spat out, drug-addicted and broke before she's 25.

I think it's at least as much about the producers as the judges. Of course, Simon Cowell is both. And he's plainly all about the money.

Michelle, and all others contributing -- thanks for all the updates tonight.  Between the phone and my computer I missed more than I saw but all I had to do was read back.

I thought Allison would at least be in the top three -- I guess that is why I am not a judge.
