     Good  Morning Everyone,
                                                I hope you are all safe.  The news is all about the awful weather some people are
        having. The tornadoes sound terrifying,  I believe they are worse than the hurricanes, at least we get a little
        warning.
                           This is a busy week for me. Doctor"s appointments Monday and Thurs. Eye doctor Tues. and
        baby sitting today. Is"nt that supposed to make me feel young? What went wrong????

Good Morning!

Just a quick check in.  My dentist's receptionist called to see if I could come in at noon to have the new crown put on in place of the temporary crown and to replace a filling, too.  I said I would come in for the crown, but I am not up to the trauma of drilling and taking out and putting in a new filling!!   

Yesterday, I drove to the doctor's office because Skip had a slight case of vertigo.  He went with me.  Just as I am feeling better, he gets "down." 

For all of you who have inquired,    I am feeling better, but I don't want to do more than I should.  I am still only going to drive on errands that must be done;  groceries; dentist, etc.  I understand that the bag that is draining must stay in until the draining stops.  I imagine it is impurities that are being drained out and the doctor doesn't want those left in me.

Funny moment:  Yesterday, I was asking the doctor if I could drive again?  YES   sleep on my side?  YES   bend over?   YES   play the violin?  WELL, WERE YOU ABLE TO PLAY BEFORE?  THEN YOU CAN PLAY AGAIN!!! 


Awful news about the terrible storms and tornadoes and the loss of lives.  We just never know what each day holds for us.  We got news that a lady from church we know and a little older than us had a stroke while watching the Super Bowl and passed away the next morning.  What is mind boggling is that her first name is the same as mine, and her married name is my maiden name.  So it was a little unsettling to see P......... M......... in the obituaries today.

Lunch time check in -

I've been to SAM's Club, Walmart, and Books A Million this morning - bought everything I needed and was back at the house in 2 hours - I think I could adjust to livng in civilization again - it's amazing to not have to drive 2 hours just to shop!

Betty - hope all of your appointments go well.

Prissy -  - you have a doctor with a sense of humor!

Meesa - I hope Grandmom is fine from her surgery. I will add her to my prayers. 

I haven't heard a word from Minnesota - I guess that is a good thing right now. To top everything off, it looks like the weather is really bad  (at least there is a shuttle from every hotel to the hospital, so DIL does not have to drive) - hope all of you in the snow are O.K.

I am working on some bookeeping this afternoon. I will get Kaitlyn form school, give her a snack, then it's off to dance lessons - hers, not mine! 

I'll check in on all of you tonight.

PRISSY, glad to see your post.  So sorry Skip isn't feeling well.  That is what is happening here, usually my husband is fine when I'm not but now he is not real good and neither am I.  This is not a good situation.  Makes you start thinking!!!  I am glad you made it safely to the doctors.  Do you think maybe Skip has a sinus infection?  I will just be glad when winter is over and all this ice and snow is gone so I can get out more. 

EVELYN, I believe Lori said that was over the counter medicine.  The next time you get to a drug store look in the sleeping aid section. 

FRANKIE, be safe, I don't know what your weather is like there.

Good Afternoon!

I made a "To do" list and have just about completed it:  wrote out and mailed bills, went to the bank,  went to the grocery store.  And on the way home from the dentist, stopped at Walgreen's and Chick Fil A.

But I forgot to pick up my prescription at Albertson's, so I will have to do that soon.  This evening, Skip and I plan to go to the visitation for the lady who passed away with my name.  I will probably drive.

Another Funny Moment:  Today, when I arrived at the dentist office, one of the ladies was asking me if I had seen Troy Aikman lately?  I said, "Yes, I saw him on the Super Bowl."  She said, "No, not Troy Aikman."  I said, "Do you mean Clay Aiken?"  "Yes, that's who I mean!"
My dental file has my picture with Clay in it!!

I live really close to everything, so I know what you mean.  The hospital where I had my surgery is about 8 minutes away and the building with the surgeon's office is just behind the hospital.  Albertson's is around the corner from me and really in walking distance.  There is a movie theater about 8 minutes away, as well as restaurants all over the place.  I like visiting in the country, but I like living where everything is close.
I imagine you will hear about DIL's dad when there is some news.  Special prayers for all!  Enjoy this time with Kaitlyn.

I'm not sure what is wrong with Skip.  I asked him if he thought he had the flu, but he said, "no."  So, ????   I'm just glad he didn't feel this way when I had the surgery.  He just seems really tired.  Luckily, his doctor (mine, too;  the one who came to the hospital to help me breathe after my surgery),  called and wants him to come in for a regular checkup on Friday.    When we got that call, we thought the doctor wanted to see me, but no, it's Skip.
I hope that both you and your hubby will be feeling better soon.  I know it has been really cold where you are and snow, too.

I bought another pineapple cake mix, Duncan Hines, and some sliced pineapple, so I will be making the Pineapple Upside Cake probably tomorrow.  I am not going to try the right side up one again.  Remember, that did not work out well.  I will post the recipe on the cake mix box in the Recipe Swap Thread.

Pepe, you asked why I tried the right side up pineapple cake.  I was hoping just to leave the cake in the corning ware I baked it in.  When I cut a slice, I had to flip it over!!

Don't let the guy get to you when he kids you about Clay.  Keep your cool, and just smile and say things like, "Did you know that Clay is a very good singer?"  or  "Did you know that Clay is a really good actor starring on Broadway?   or......really smart and won a lot of money on ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A FIFTH GRADER?      Stuff like that.  Maybe even, "You seem to be a fan of Clay, too.  You like to talk about him a lot."

Prissy ~ I would do that but thats the thing.....i think he knows he is a good singer but I'm so quite in class that he just says like Oh Clay this or that and it drives me up the wall! LOL....but I know I shouldn't worry about it but he's done this ever since the 1st day of school!...He just gets a rise out of me!...I hate guys! but anyhow how are you?

Prissy - Not yet! Michelle goes to the specialist at the end of the month as she has to be in her second trimester before they can do further testing. That way the baby will be safer. Grandma's in some pain and she has packing in her mouth so she looks like a chipmunk. I've been spoiling her since I got home.

A VERY quick check in.  It was a miserable day of snow and wind here.     But we had school....I think we were the only school anywhere around here that stayed in school all day.  I came home and shoveled and feel like every muscle in my body is sore.   

I'm trying to find out if our Ash Wednesday service is canceled.  I'm going to call around.  I really don't feel like going back out, but I hate to miss the service.  Most churches in the WHOLE area cancelled everything.  Maybe I can find someone to ride with.

Prissy - No half day for me.     But all after school activities were canceled, including my tutoring.   But the weather is costing me money.

I want to take a quick shower and then head off to church if it is still on.  That means I will have to tape Idol.  That's probably better.  Then I can skip the bad singers.

P.S.  The devastation in the south from the tornadoes is just horrible.  I was just watching it on the news.  Those poor people really need our prayers.
