MARILYN--YOU HAVE TO SEE THE CONSERVATORY AT THE BELLAGIO AND THE WATER SHOW THERE. ALSO, THE VENETIAN AND PARIS.
I WORRY SO MUCH THAT CLAY WILL WALK OUT ON STAGE AND WE WILL HEAR---
I LOVE YOU, CLAY!!!!!
HE IS NOT GONNA BE CLAY WHEN HE WALKS OUT THERE. HE IS GONNA BE SIR ROBIN. HOW EMBARRASSING FOR HIM IF THAT HAPPENS.

A good actor should be able to ignore that, or tune it out. At his show, its a different thing.
I just hope the loudmouths will shut the heck up.

ON a serious note, I picked up a couple of books from Costco (lots cheaper) and they had Kite Runner. So...I took a chance and bought it.
I could NOT put that book down. I really was into it!! The author was very descriptive and I definitely want to get the sequel (Is it a sequel or just another book by the same author?)
I will read it again sometime, only slower. I tend to speed read when I want to find out the ending.

Ouch ~ I worry about that, too. Clay's fans in the audience will have their chance to give him a resounding ovation when each character is introduced individually at the end of the show! I think that would be very exciting and appropriate.
GWENN, hopefully the other Clay boards will mention appropriate "theater" behavior prior to Clay's Spamalot appearance. I believe that the vast majority of Clay's fans know what is appropriate . . .

At Spamalot, Claymaniacs could hand out "gags" to Clay fans . . . . kind of like the black duct tape that was distributed to cover the flashes on cameras for the Christmas concerts!

PBS often has these special concerts on, a little while after they happen. I"m going to keep watch. It would be wonderful to see. Fingers

Oy (tm Gwenn). I shudder at the thought. And let's hope the rabid Clay ladies don't come to the Schubert Theatre in sweatshirts with Clay's picture on it and stretch pants. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

JOHANNA, you have taken my place as the official "Critical Mass Pollyanna".
I am much, much sadder and wiser and cynical these days. And when something positive happens for Clay....well, I'm always surprised!!! But thankfully not everybody is as jaded as I've become!!!

I just discussed the "I Love You Clay" shouting scenario with hubby Phil. He said he's sure they will be escorted out and have to forfeit their tickets. That's what happens outside of our little insulated Clay world.
Phil doesn't tend to mince the words!

I think more black duct tape oughta work fine.
And,
Dev,
I hope Phil's right.

...
...I like Phil's conjecture...perhaps it would be just the 'behavior modification'...'intervention' needed to finally put an end to that inconsiderate nonsense...I do believe Clay is weary of it...you'd think his feelings alone would curb it, wouldn't you.?
...or maybe it's like some of the drunken oafs that dominate baseball bleachers...it's not the sport...it's the excessive beer!

JOHANNA, I also truly believe Clay is weary of it. But since when do some of these biggest fans who claim endless love for Clay have consideration for HIS feelings?

OMG, THEA--I HADN'T THOUGHT OF THAT. WHILE PEOPLE DON'T GET AS DRESSED UP AS THEY USED TO FOR BROADWAY, I HAVEN'T SEEN SWEATS AND CERTAINLY NO PICTURED SHIRTS. THAT BEING SAID, I DID SEE SOME INAPPROPRIATE GET-UPS AT THE BEACON A COUPLE OF CHRISTMASES AGO.
I HOPE PHIL IS RIGHT. WHEN WE SAW
JERSEY BOYS
LAST WEEK, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE ACTED ANYTHING BUT CLASSY. THIS IS NOT A POP CONCERT. HE WAS ANNOYED AT THAT STUFF AT LAST YEAR'S CHRISTMAS CONCERTS.
FINGERS CROSSED FOR SOME SENSE.

I've read a few pages back and am going to stick my nose into this discussion.
I hope that the managers of all the Clay on-line boards send an email out to all their members about what is approved dress and behavior at the Christmas concerts and Broadray shows should be. Many problems could be eliminated. A standing ovation at the end of a song would be much more powerful than an "I love you Clay" in the middle of a song or when he is speaking especially in the media! Respectful dress code seems more powerful than a Clay T-shirt.
Don't we all want Clay to have more respect in the industry?
Clay's summer concerts I'll break out my Clay T-shirts!
I don't want to be known as a crazy Claymate. I am, but just don't have it in me to shout out at a concert. He takes my breath away. Sigh!
Way back when I went to the Broadway show Shennadoha where the lead character used the word breast. My sister guffawed so loud that she actually stopped the show...not an easy thing to do back then! We were in the second row. They couldn't miss it! Then what she realized what she had done she raised her arm over my head and pointed to me! Oh, why didn't she do it to our mother who would have enjoyed the spotlight?
Days or nights of insomnia have struck again. I know that I had something else to say but when I only get 2 or 3 hours of sleep in twenty minute increments my mind goes blank. I wake up and am totally refreshed only to realise that I have slept only twenty minutes.

If you are not an on-line fan how the heck could you know that Clay is appearing anywhere?
It certainly is not the massive publicity that other "stars" have.

He's gotten a lot of coverage already about taking over this role. It's been reported on entertainment shows, in newspapers, and in a magazine or two.

This is true. He's actually been getting the best publicity he's gotten in years. Must be a new publicist.

I AM SURE SOMETHING WILL BE SAID BY SOMEONE ABOUT THIS NOT BEING A CONCERT MAYBE EVEN CLAY ,SURELY THERE WILL BE NO PROBLEMS, IF THERE IS I AGREE WITH PHIL THAT THEY WILL BE POLITELY ESCORTED OUT,
I HAVE A QUESTION BE ON MY MIND FOR A WHILE SINCE HEARING ABOUT SPAMALOT, NOW DO NOT THROW TOMATOES PLEASE, DO YOU THINK THIS ROLE WILL WILL HELP THE MANNLIEST ISSUE. I KNOW OTHERS HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS. AFTER WATCHING THE CLIP I AM JUST A TAD BIT WORRIED,
I REALIZE THAT IF CLAY SNEEZES THE WRONG WAY IT IS NEWS.BUT I AM CURIOUS AS TO WHAT OTHERS THINK.

I THOUGHT ABOUT THIS ALSO, GLORY. BUT, NO MATTER WHAT CLAY DOES OR DOESN'T DO, PEOPLE HAVE MADE UP THEIR MINDS ALREADY. I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING MUCH, BUT, I DID READ THE WORDS TO HIS "BIG NUMBER." I BELIEVE THE WHOLE SHOW, FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD, IS SNARKY.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING CLAY COULD DO TO SATISFY THE MASSES ON THE ISSUE YOU ARE MENTIONING. I MEAN THE NJU FOLKS. I AM SURE THERE WILL BE COMMENTS. ESPECIALLY SINCE THE ORIGINAL ROBIN WAS DHP.
I AM GOING WITH CLAY. (GOD, I WISH I COULD.
) I MAY TALK ABOUT IT WITH CLAY FRIENDS, BUT, I AM NOT ADDRESSING IT ANYMORE TO "OTHERS."
NO TOMATOES HERE, SWEETIE.
I BET THERE ISN'T ANYONE IN THE CLAYNATION WHO HAN'T THOUGHT ABOUT THIS.
