Good morning all...i've been awake for awhile. I don't plan on being awake all day long, though. I was watching DVD #2 of MARY HARTMAN during the over-night hours. I'm gonna be putting in DVD #3 in a few minutes. I didn't watch DVD #1 because i'd seen those episodes already on TV Land. I'll watch them eventually but my focus was on the episodes on the other DVD's.

I also made a trip to the store...bought a few things.

Hi there, Frankie!!

I'll be back much later today.

Morning-

Why do I cry at the loss of someones pet as much or more as the loss of a relative or friend?

They just seem more helpless and rely on us, as "parents" to care for them and keep them happy and playful long into their lives. They tell us thru their eyes how they feel and how they love. It's not what they "buy" for us, or places they take us, but the feelings they show thru their eyes.

So, I think when I remember a pet, mine or someone elses, what makes me feel the most loss is that to communicate with that pet, you look at them. You look at their eyes. I always, in my minds eye, remember their "look"....you know, "Puppy dog eyes"..

Frankie and Lewis, Just want you to know how truly sorry I am over the loss of Scooter.

 Cry!

Frankie - I know nothing at this time will take away the pain you are feeling but please know we are here for you.  Together you and Lewis gave both Peanut and Scooter the best that anyone could give.   Love beyond words for sure. Now they are together again.

I am heading out to take a walk with my girlfriend.  I will check back later before my family gets there.

It is a  very sad here on the OCD for our dear Frankie.  We are part of her family and when she is hurting so are we.

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING MY FRIENDS!!!

wave Jayne, AC, Lora, Charlene, lorraine, Janet, and everyone else soon to get here.

Indeed, today is a sad day for the OCD family.  Well said, Lora and lorraine, and beautiful images posted by many.  I hope Frankie and Lewis can find some comfort from their cyber family.   I know all of our hearts ache for them today.

Lora - You are SO right about your pet's eyes.  When I look at the pictures of my dog that I lost last summer, I look into her eyes.  It will be a year in July, but it seems like yesterday.  I still relive that day in my mind.  But I know she is now at peace and running around in doggie heaven, which she could no longer do here on earth.  Many people who have had near death experiences have reported seeing their pets that have gone before them.  So in my heart I feel my pets are waiting for me.   Cry!

I was going to get our new session going, and I think I will.  But I am going to leave this one open for others to post to Frankie so they will all be in one place.  I will close this session up this afternoon.

The Rainbow Bridge
There is a bridge connecting Heaven & Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of
meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again. Those who
are maimed are made whole. They play together all day.

There is only one thing missing: They are not with
their special person who loved them on Earth.
Each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring!
And this one suddenly runs from the group.

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again, and you look once
more into the eyes of your trusting friend.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together,
never again to be separated.

Frankie and Lewis,

I know this is a sad day for you.  You said goodbye to Peanut and now to Scooter.   There will be an emptiness in your home that will be hard to fill.  Remember to take comfort in the fact that you did everything you could for both dogs and gave  them a wonderful life with lots of love , care , and attention.

Thanks to Tammy and Dudley for posting the RAINBOW BRIDGE.    I posted this picture last night, but here it is again of

Scooter and Peanut

Here is my story about Mac, our first Sheltie:

In November, the Friday after Thanksgiving of 2003, we had to put our Sheltie, Mac, to sleep.  Mac was a beautiful Sable and looked like a small Lassie.  We only had Mac three years when he developed cancer.  We even had very expensive surgery for him, but the cancer came back.  When one of our friends said he could hear Mac whimpering, we knew he was suffering, so we made the decision to let him go.  We have a very deep back yard, and he is buried near the back.

That Friday afternoon, after my hubby buried Mac in the back yard, I fell asleep on one of the recliners and had a most unusual dream:  I was in the kitchen loading the dishwasher when Mac ran into the kitchen.  I reached down and I could feel his solid body and hair.  I called to my husband to hurry into the kitchen: that Mac was there.  When my husband came in,  Mac disappeared in a "poof" like a bubble.  It was as if he came back to say one last goodbye and to let me know that he was okay!

Love,

Lora:  so true about pets eyes....

Woody:  I believe they will be waiting for us, it will be 10 years for my beloved Sasha my heart still aches..

Those of us fortunate enough to love and be loved by animals know the exquisite joy and quiet fulfillment that comes from animals living in our hearts. We know there is no turning back from loving animals intensely once we experience this bond.
Animals and their love stay in our souls, once we've let them in. And we are better for it, more complete, more whole, more compassionate, and often transformed

Good morning Tammy, Dudley, Glory, and Prissy!!!   Huggles Huggles Huggles Huggles

Prissy - Thanks for sharing that most touching story.  My daughter has a blown up picture of Belle in her room, and everytime I go in there I am taken aback.  It's like she's there.  I am glad we took a lot of pictures.

Session 117 is up and running but I have not stickied it yet.  I will do that this afternoon when I close this session.

I better get in the    so I'm not late for church.

Beyond The Rainbow
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.

I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.

I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.

For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

FRANKIE, I just read about Scooter, and am crying along with you.  I am so very sorry!  I still remember when we lost our Maggie (our little Yorkie) two years ago.  We still talk about her and cry for her.  Life has changed drastically since we lost her as we don't laugh like we used to.  Our pets are so much a part of our lives and  Scooter was so lucky to have you and Lewis as parents.  What a wonderful life Scooter had.

Frankie, I am so sorry to hear about your beloved doggie Scooter Huggles People who have loved and been given love by a pet, are so fortunate, I know my life would have never been complete without the beautiful, sensitive, wonderful furry friends who have made me feel the love they have to give.

Your heart will be broken, but know that your doggies will wait for you in heaven, and with their tails wagging will greet you someday, and they will remember the love you showered on them, and will lick your face and run their heads under your hand for a rub, you will be their care giver once again, I really believe that Huggles

Much love, and caring to you!
