We are not sure if we will attend this concert; being outdoors and in a soccerfield and with 20,000 people expected at the Pizza Park that day for the Fourth of July.  We are in a "wait and see" mode! Wink

But it is hard not to go to a Clay concert that is so close to us!!

From the Texas Clay Fans Site:

Posted by Ressa (creator of the beautiful Texas Clay pins)  Reesa also lives near Frisco, TX and visited Pizza Hut Park:
(CLICK ON PHRASES IN CAPITAL LETTERS)

AuntieD and mammajamma and I went out to Pizza Hut Park today.

Here are the pictures that we took. This is a fabulous place.

PIZZA HUT PARK

Another post from Texas Clay Fans:

QUOTE(auntdementia;254141)
I was with ressa today and wanted to add my 2 cents. The park is GREAT!

We were able to get inside and walk the venue.

This is the permanent stage at the end of the soccer field. It's covered and big enough to accomodate an orchestra with Clay and a band.

STAGE WHERE CLAY WILL BE SINGING ON THE 4TH!!!

STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN

We took pics of the stadium at 2pm and around 4. By the time Clay performs one side of the stadium will be entirely in the shade. When you buy your seats, be sure to get the shady side. :

SEATS IN THE SHADE

OK, the Jumbotrans are HUGE !! And on both sides of the stage!

THESE ARE ON EACH SIDE OF THE STAGE!!

ViIEW FROM THE SIDE SEATS

ANOTHER VIEW

SHADED TO SIT AND SNACK

FiIRST AID STATION

It is a great venue and we are going to have a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if ressa posted this, but she's saw George Strait there and says the sound system is wonderful!

mamajamma is going to call Monday and check on group rates for hotels in the area!!!

One thing I forgot to add, after the soccer game, you can move to any vacant seat. They also open the gates and let the crowd down on the field. For those that want a closer view!!!

I don't know if you can tell from the pictures but here is a seating chart for PHP.

PiIZZA HUT SEATING CHART

The stage is permanent and it is on the NORTH side. So if you are looking for shady seats, the west side would be best. That would be sections 101 through 111. The two huge jumbotrons are in front of sections 100 and 133.

I am going to PHP tomorrow as I have to go to the library anyway and it is across the street. I will post what I find.

Reesa went back or called Pizza Hut Park and asked the following questions and posted the answers she got:

How will the ticket sales will work with the soccer game/Freedom Fest/concert?

You will need to buy a ticket to the soccer game which will cover the concert also.

When will tickets go on sale for July 4th concert/game?

In about two weeks for single tickets. Ticketmaster or call Jose.

Will the game be scheduled earlier than the ticket shows?

Yes, it will probably be rescheduled to 5 pm like last year. We will receive notification well in advance.

What time will the concert start and end?

Jose says it will be similar to last year. Concert starting at about 7:30 and ending around 9:00.

Will there be a presale of concert tickets?

No, unless you buy season tickets. There are mini packs that will include July 4th and also the David Beckham game on July 31st.

Will there be a package deal to cover it all or will there be a separate ticket sale for Clay?

Soccer ticket covers the concert.

Will we be able to buy tickets just for Clay's concert or do we
buy a ticket for the soccer game and the concert?

You will have to buy a ticket for the soccer game.

How do they handle a mass crowd of people wanting to move down onto the field for the concert?

They will open all gates to let people who want to go down on the field.

Is there an intermission while folding chairs or set up on the field?

Yes, probably between 7 and 7:30

Is there assigned seating to the seats on the field?

No. You can either stand or bring a blanket to sit.

Is it a free for all with blankets and lawn chairs??

No, orderly through each gate.

Can a person buy a single ticket in section 102 or 103 ( not a package deal).

Yes, but not yet. Probably will be two weeks, possibly three. At that point the lower seats will be taken.

When will they go on sale ?

Probably two or three weeks. They are still deciding on the price structure for single seats.

How will they go on sale?

Ticketmaster or call Jose at 214.705.6746 or email Jose at jlizardo@fcdallas.net

Is there a guarantee of getting to go onto the field?

Last year everyone who wanted to got to go onto the field, so yes.

Are you sure chairs won't be set up on the field?

There will not be chairs on the field. Blankets only.

Will concert tickets go on sale separate from the soccer tickets?

No, you will have to buy a soccer ticket which will cover the concert.

Will we be able to buy tickets just for Clay's concert or do we buy a ticket for the soccer game and the concert?

No, you have to buy a soccer ticket which is also the concert ticket.

How do they handle a mass crowd of people wanting to move down onto the field for the concert?

Security at each gate letting people on to the field.

Is there an intermission while folding chairs or set up on the field?

Yes, about 30 minute intermission.

Is there assigned seating to the seats on the field?

No.

Is it a free for all with blankets and lawn chairs??

No lawn chairs allowed, only blankets. It wasn’t a free for all last year but then again they haven’t seen us yet. <<<I added that last part myself.

Is there handicapped seating and access?

Yes, there is handicapped seating on the top of the sections and the stadium is accessible.

Is there a possibility for group sales?

Yes, there is a possibility but they won’t know for a couple of weeks.

I asked about section 100 and Jose said that is usually bought up by a company, so I asked how much it went for and he said there are 100 seats and it usually goes for 4 or 5 thousand but that includes the soccer ticket. I am not sure that the view would be that great but it is the closest to the stage and actually after all the people who want to go onto the field then others can move to empty seats in the stadium.

Jose is very nice and very patient. *g*

Edited to add that we now have single ticket prices. Regular prices are between $16 and $45. These tickets will be $5 additional, so $21 to $50.

FC Dallas, Clay Aiken, & fireworks highlight Frisco Freedom Fest

By Pegasus News wire

For the second consecutive year, the City of Frisco and Pizza Hut Park have teamed up to host the City of Frisco’s Freedom Fest, on Wednesday, July 4. The Independence Day festival will start at 4 pm, and also feature the FC Dallas’ home game versus Chivas USA (5:30 pm), followed by a post-game concert by Clay Aiken and Symphony, and capped off by the largest fireworks show in the Metroplex, organized by the premier fireworks company – the Zambelli Family.

This is only time you will ever hear me say, "Gosh, I sure hope Tori Spelling shows up, too."

    * Frisco’s Freedom Fest begins with the “Party on the Plaza” at Frisco Square, which is located across the street from the stadium and will feature: the Taste of Frisco; a community stage featuring live music from local talent; and a Children’s Expo that will include face painters, balloon artists, jump houses, games and arts and crafts. Freedom Fest will begin at 4 p.m. and last until the start of the fireworks. Admission to the festival is free.
    * FC Dallas will host Western-Conference opponent Chivas USA in a regular season game that will kickoff at 5:30 pm. Tickets for the game, which also include the concert and fireworks, are priced at: $21, $29, $33, $37, $50 and $75.
    * Pop-singer Clay Aiken and the Symphony will perform on the Pizza Hut Park stage approximately 30 minutes following the end of the game. He has released three solo albums that have each debuted in the top five on the Billboard charts.
    * The night concludes with the largest fireworks show in the Metroplex. The show will be produced by the Zambelli Family, known as the “First Family of Fireworks”. Zambelli pyrotechnicians hand-pick every shell for each show to ensure that the designed effect is achieved. Zambelli has one of the highest safety records in the industry, with a professional seasoned staff and over 100 years of experience in all types of weather, conditions and sites. Each year Zambelli Fireworks produces more than 3,500 shows.
    * Among the national shows produced by Zambelli Fireworks are: the 2007 Ball Drop at Times Square in NYC, Thunder Over Louisville, the Statue of Liberty Anniversary Celebration, Superbowl Celebrations, the Las Vegas Casino, and Mt. Rushmore.

City of Frisco employees and residents will have a pre-sale opportunity to purchase tickets beginning on Fri, April 27 at 10 a.m. until May 3 at 10 p.m.

FC Dallas season ticket holders and FCD Hoops Nation members will have a pre-sale opportunity for tickets on Thurs, May 3 from 10 am-10 pm.

Tickets for the general public will go on sale on Fri, May 4 at 10 am.

04/27/07 : Pre-Sale for Frisco, TX Re-Scheduled for Tuesday, May 1st
By Team Clay

The Clay Aiken pre-sale for the 4th of July show in Frisco, TX is now re-scheduled to occur on Tuesday, May 1st at 10 a.m. CDT.

Please note the following regarding the 7/4 event in Frisco, TX:

- The event is a Major League Soccer game at which Clay will perform afterwards. A 4th of July fireworks display will also be included as a part of this event.

- If you're attending this event solely with the purpose to see Clay Aiken perform, please note that the highest priced tickets are not necessarily the best tickets in order to watch Clay's performance. Especially for this pre-sale, the venue will be allotting reserve tickets that are not the most expensive, however, they will be the closest to the stage where Clay will perform.

- Additionally, after the soccer game and before Clay's performance, the field will be open to anyone who holds a reserve ticket to the game for those who wish to leave their seats and watch the performance from the field. Spots on the field will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

From Ressa about the Texas Clay Fans PreParty:

I talked to Cristina's Mexican Restaurant today and booked the private room for July 4, starting at 2:30. They said we can just order off the menu.

Cristina's Mexican Cafe

It is right down the street from The Embassy Suites and The Hampton Inn.

Map to Cristina's

I am sorry that I can't do more but Maggie is flying in from Canada that day so I will be picking her up at DFW and getting us settled in at Hamptom Inn. We will come to Cristina's after that though.

This is one of our favorite restaurant's in Frisco. Yummy food. Thud!

Hello!

This morning, JoAnn, her mom, Jennie, my hubby, Skip, and I took a trip up to Frisco, TX, where Clay will be performing July 4th.  We wanted to check out Pizza Hut Park, some of the hotels, and the restaurant for the preparty.

It took us a whole 35 minutes to get there from my house!!  So, not too far!! bigsmile

We traveled up US State Highway 121, took an exit north on Dallas North Tollway, and there was Pizza Hut Park just off the Tollway on Main Street.

PIZZA HUT PARK

WAITING FOR CLAY!!  (We found our seats!!)

Our view of the stage

Jennie found a spot, too!

After visiting Pizza Hut Park, we drove around the town square and then down Main Street where we saw (and stopped) at a Custard Cream shoppe! (Chocolate for me!!)

After checking out the Embassy Suites and Hampton Inn, we stopped at Central Park.  Skip enjoyed seeing the Waterfall!! (And got some ideas for our waterfall!) Wink

Jennie and some small purple trees in Central Park.

After a visit to Sam Moon, (the store known for inexpensive purses, jewelry, and scarves) we had lunch at Christina's Restaurant where the preparty on July 4 will be.  Good food at reasonable prices!

All in all, a fun morning!!

Hugs,
Prissy

I was able to print it off and it was helpful in finding different places.

Marilyn and Meesa,

Do you want me to put you on the list for the pre-party at Christina's in Frisco?  A room has been reserved and we will just order off the menu.  Let me know;  If you decide to skip it, it won't matter, but it might be good to go ahead and have your names on the list.
