Here's mine: Wink

Celestial Bodies

The sun has shown for more than a thousand days
It lightens the horizon in a million rays
It's brightness shows in your green eyes
It is the proof that your heart never lies

The moon has been given by you
To show that you heart is true
A man must sometimes do the thing
That make his soul lift and his voice sing.

Stars light up and shine at night
As prove that our love is so right
A thousand days and many, many more
Will never be enough for the one I adore.

Here's my entry. I posted this in the BLP mansion too. Love yours Clandy and Philly. From the HEART!  heartbeat heartbeat heartbeat

A Thousand Valentines

I searched a thousand Valentines,
But none of them would do.
Their poetry could not describe,
The heart and soul of you.
The love I have so true.

The angels kissed your precious lips,
Gave you a voice divine.
It lights my world both day and night,
Your laughter makes it shine.
Like the Moon lights the horizon,
The sparkle of your eyes
Lights the home within my heart,
Where my love for you resides.
The love I cannot hide.

I searched a thousand Valentines,
But none of them would do.
My heart belongs to you,
Forever I’ll be true.

My soul,
my innermost being,
like a thousand angels
lights up as I fall for you.

Drowning in your eyes
I need you.

I'd give you the world.
Do you see me?
Reach out for me.

That was great Meesa!

Okay, I'm biting the bullet.

Here's my submission.

My soul is spinning in love with you
I drown
Falling like thousands of angels from the night skies.
Hold me and don’t let go.

Reach out to the horizon
And see
The thousands of ways I give you my heart.

Meesa and Susy!  I love your poems - so sweet, and haunting.

I love them both.  Not Worthy

I actually missed the deadline today.  I intended on sending my entry in this morning, but from the time I awoke, everything went wrong today and the time slipped by, like a spinning angel dancing across a thousand moons.

rofl

I did get our Valentines mailed to Jimmy and Clay though! Purple Banana

So, does anyone else think this contest was a way for us to rethink the words of this song, or to rethink the lyrics perhaps?  You know this is the song so many people hated the lyrics to.

Not me! I love it!  Wink

ETA:  Meesa, I could drown in your avie.  *gish*

« Reply #14 on: February 07, 2007, 06:02:48 PM »

My world lights up
With a thousand stars
And the moon’s like a ball
In the evening skies

You are my love, my promise, you’re mine
For a thousand nights we’ll drown in love
And the angels will know
My soul is your home

Good thing i didnt submit it, huh?

Clay's Fiddlin' Poet

« Reply #15 on: February 07, 2007, 08:54:03 PM »

Hello!

I am so impressed with everyone's poems!! Clapping Marilyn, Susy, Meesa, Shakey, Deanna, Philly  Clapping

You all are so talented!!

I did try to come up with something but had problems using just the words from the lyrics;  I even listed all the nouns, verbs, pronouns, prepositions, etc. from the lyrics of A THOUSAND DAYS, but still felt restricted.

So my hat is off to each of you.

I have a feeling a Claymaniac will win!  And as Frankie said, be sure and tape your phone call from Clay!! bigsmile

Hugs,
Prissy
