YES - ALL OF THE ABOVE!

I HAD NEVER USED OUR COMPUTER TO DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN CHECK MY E.MAIL - NEVER SEARCHED THE INTERNET, NEVER LOOKED AT A WEBSITE, NEVER PARTICIPATED IN A FORUM, NEVER DOWNLOADED ANYTHING, NEVER JOINED AN ONLINE GROUP, ETC.

I NEVER HAD BOUGHT SO MANY DUPLICATES OF ONE CD BEFORE FOR NO APPARENT REASON - JUST TO SUPPORT CLAY AND BECAUSE I CAN'T STAND TO SEE THEM SITTING THERE UNBOUGHT!!!!!

I HAD NEVER BOUGHT A ROLLING STONE OR A TEEN PEOPLE OR A COSMO GIRL OR MANY OTHER MAGAZINES THAT I NOW OWN.

NOW I SUBSCIRBE TO PEOPLE BECAUSE I HAD TO ONCE IN ORDER TO SEE AN INTERVIEW OF CLAY ON THE INTERNET - I DIDN'T HESITATE.

I HAD NOT EVEN HEARD OF TRL OR EVER WATCHED MTV. I NOW VOTE EVERYDAY FOR CLAY ON TRL AND HAVE MY TIVO SET UP TO RECORD TRL EVERY DAY.

BIGGEST THING I DID THOUGH THAT I NEVER WOULD HAVE DONE BEFORE - WALK BEHIND CLAY ON THE RED CARPET AT THE AMAs UNTIL I HAD THE CHANCE TO TELL HIM THAT I LOVED HIM AND GET A KISS FROM HIM!!!!

THANKS FOR THE THREAD, CLAYADMIRER!!!!!!

Before Clay, I never...

Even had a computer.  I always wanted one but never got around to buying one.  Once Clay came into my life I just had to have one so I could find out everything I could about him.

Knew nothing about the internet.  Not that I know that much now but I sure am learning.

Posted in a forum.  Didn't even know what that was.

Joined an internet fan group.  I just love it.

Called a store on the first day of the release of MOAM to see if they were sold out yet.  When they were I was so happy.

Bought 5 copies of a CD to give to people I know for no other reason than to Clayvert them.

Was so smitten (I like that word) with a singer in my whole life.  Clay is the best thing to happen to us all in a long time.  He is a breath of fresh air.

Before Clay:
I never thought that music could touch me like Clay's does......
I never thought that music could help get you though your busy day....
I never waited to hear that a new cd was in the making....
I never bought a cd the day it came out..............
I didn't believe that someone in the spotlight could really be an idol....
I  thought that new music was only for young kids..........
I never thought that young and old could agree on music...........
I didn't understand how other people fell in love with someones voice......
I never walked around the house with a headset on my head..........
My husband never caught me singing when I didn't know he was listening
I thought the music world didn't have anything to offer me......
I forgot how good music can make you feel...................
I never followed though with getting involved with programs for children...
Before Clay I had forgoten that there are people out  there that truely care about other people...............................................

Before Clay I never...

Spent so much time on the computer.
Printed out appearence schedules for any celebrity.
Watched American Idol.
Bought a Rolling Stones magazine.
Hung pictures on my wall that weren't of my friends.
Went to a concert.
Screamed "I love you!!!" to someone I didn't know in public.
Had an infatuation.
Had such high respect for a celebrity.
Posted on the internet.
Belonged to a fan club.
Knew every lyric to every song on a cd.
Preordered a cd.
Listened to a cd more than twice in one day.

Before Clay, I Never...

-Received a phone call from my Dad asking me if I had the recent copy of Teen People magazine!

-Asked my son to turn on my Clay water (I meant to say "tea" water - to this my son said, "Mom, you're obsessed.")

-Felt such strong emotions (actually, any emotions) when someone didn't get nominated for a Grammy!

-Received phone calls from people to let me know that someone was going to be on TV.

-Calendared appearances of any performer!

Clayadmirer, I'll second that!

Before Clay,

I'd never fallen into a downright DEPRESSION when someone didn't get nominated for a Grammy, let alone even cared! Cry!:  Cry!:  Cry!:

Before Clay I never: Would go to see him again (the AI tour) by myself. Yell and scream when he sang. Try to get to see him backstage (they wouldn't let me) Have six or seven tapes of his TV appearances. Have posters in our bedroom (I say ours because my husband thinks I amwayoverboard).    I would never watch TRL to see what number he is, vote as many times as I had on the various polls listed on the internet.  I could go on, Clay has made me do things for the first time that I never would have done when I was younger. Way to go Clay.

i like this thread...finally i can get this stuff out of my mind...

before clay i never...

-bought tickets to a concert (it was always my friends who invited me)
-was so excited about a cd out!
-watched tv like a mad hawk looking for any appearances by him
-looked in every magazine to see if there was a clip of him in there
-loved an adorable hot dork!
-had faith in the music industry to give the public what they wanted...actually they still aren't doing that
-jumped up and down hysterically and hyperventillated when someone won an award or got to the #1 spot!  (oh yeah...i'm definitely talking about the AMAs, TRL and when clay's cd went #1 on billboard  :D )
-voted on TRL or any tv show before (first time i voted for anything on tv was when i wanted clay to make into the top 12 in group 2)
-voted for anything online
-joined or even gone to a fans forum before
-been a member of a fans club
-pulled all-nighters talking to other fans  :P
-been on the computer more than ever in my life!
-had so many videos downloaded on my computer to make it crash!
-surfed the net for the demo songs by an artist i like
-had to fight to defend someone so much at the risk of losing my friends...yes...sad it did happen...
-felt like i knew someone like a brother or friend that i have never met
-idolized someone as much as i idolize him (mostly for his influence and his wanting to be a teacher)
-screamed so loud at a concert, that i lost my voice
-listened to the same cd so much in my entire life
-wrote a complaint to a company before
-tried to clayvert someone  :P

..that's all for now...i'll add more as i think of them...

Before Clay I never...

Bought 3 copies of the same CD so I could have one in my car, at work, and at home without having to take it out of the CD player
Bought 14 more copies of a CD to give to friends and family to make sure they got one and listened to it
Made sure I had 2 extra copies of a CD on me "just in case"
Paid more than a week's pay for a CD I'll never open or listen to because it is a "collector's item".
Put a CD in a safe to protect it.
Paid $40 for a copy of said collector's item so I could listen to it.
Gave a gift to my Dad and stepmom from my heart and had them actually like it, not put it in the attic, and actually use it.
Gave a CD to someone with a note that said I was giving them the CD because the music made my heart happy and I wanted to share it with them.
Found something to say about a celebrity in EVERY conversation.
Had the self-acceptance I do now.
Took my mom to a concert other than Neil Diamond (love him by the way)
Saw my mom on the phone for 2-3 hours voting for someone on tv
have been on the phone myself for 2-3 hours voting for someone on tv
Saw my mom get so upset over someone not winning something on tv
Had anything to really share with my mom
Listened to the same CD for a month and a half straight
Posted so many things on a discussion forum
Missed an episode of Frasier in 6 years (taped every episode even when out of the country) - then along came Clay and I missed one because I was on this forum and I didn't care!
Burned my own compilation CD
Searched the internet for video of the same song sung in a bunch of different towns
Had 5 CD's filled with performances, interviews, photos of the same person and still wanted more
Prayed for the safety, health, and happiness of a celebrity everyday.
Prayed for said celebrity's bodyguard everyday.
Got nervous before a celebrity performed
Squealed like a teenager at the sight of someone on tv (even when I WAS a teenager!)
Had improper thoughts pop into my head out of nowhere at CHURCH.
Got weak-kneed when someone sang
Had a singer's voice affect me so much
Felt so much emotion no matter how many times I listen to the same song
Got that "warm-fuzzy" feeling in the pit of my stomach when watching someone sing.
Focused on every single wink, lowered eyelash, leg twirl, lip bite, head bob, finger shake, jacket pull, shirt tug, or hip shake of someone when they performed.
Actually watched something I taped over and over and over and...  (usually I tape something because I NEED to keep it, then it gets shoved somewhere and I never watch it again)
Kept a printed schedule on my kitchen counter of a celebrity's tv appearances.
Saw my mom keep such close track of a celebrity's tv appearances.
Got teased at work for being such a fan of someone and not caring about it.
Had a celebrity make such a positive difference in my life.

There are so many more but I guess I'll just quit here. Thanks for starting this thread. Sort of a "Count your many Clay blessings". I like it!

Hi Clay friends! I have noticed that there are a lot of new friends here at Claymaniacs, so I thought I would resurrect this thread. I think it helps to know that there are Clay fans out there who are thinking in ways, and doing things, that had been foreign to us before Clay came into our lives! Plus it's fun. It goes like this:

Before Clay, I NEVER ... and complete the sentence with something you had never done before you became a hopeless Clay fan! I know I have said it plenty of times! I thought it would be fun to hear some of your "Before Clay, I NEVER ..." stories! I'm happy to share a few of mine ...

Before Clay, I NEVER ...

posted on a message board!

talked to my sister almost every day!

watched TRL on MTV!

cried when I read the Thanks and Acknowledgements in a CD jacket!

devoted 2 nights a week to watching TV!

asked anyone for their autograph!

bought Rolling Stone magazine!

I'm looking forward to hearing your stories!

Clayadmirer, this thread topic is hilarious and thought-provoking at the same time:

Just a couple of things came to mind...more will pop up in my Clay-filled thoughts later on:

Before Clay...

-- I never would rearrange the CD's on the display rack in Walmart so that Clay's CD would displayed in five different places.

--I never would buy extra CD's to have at home "just in case" a Clayversion opportunity came along

--I never would neglect my personal correspondence in favor of reading and posting on Clay's websites

--I never would forget to empty my bladder before turning on the computer first thing in the morning

--I never would postpone cooking supper until I was completely caught up on the BLPT

AWESOME IDEA! :D

Before Clay I NEVER....
Cried when I saw a celebrity on TV

Made a list every month and marked the times and dates Clay was going to be on TV, so my family wouldn't take it.

Went to school late because he was on a morning show (only once! Wink: )

Made the whole car shutup when he was on the radio

Had my picture taken with a poster

Made a fool outta myself in front of the whole school

Stopped and thought about what might happen to me if I did drugs

Donated to a Foundation

Rearranged my CD rack whenever I got a new CD of his

Realized how important life is

Could talk to my friends about their problems

have had my life literally saved

Bought a CD the day it came out

Voted on TRL

Dedicated 3 hours on the net a day to his site

STOPPED EATING LUNCH TO HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY THE MAGAZINES HE WAS IN FOR THAT MONTH

And, the  BEST  thing of all. Before Clay I have never had such access to an awesome website with so many great, supporting friends who care and listen! Thanks claymates! I WUV YA!

THAT WAS AN AWESOME IDEA, THANKS FOR SHARING! IM DONE I DONT THINK I CAN BEAT MOONSHOT LOL!  shock:  :D [/size]

Wow! This is what it's all about! I bet Clay would be so touched to know this!

I have to add one real quick--

Before Clay, I never...

posted on a message board, pecking at the keyboard one letter at a time with my right hand, while simultaneously dialing and redialing TRL with my left hand, to vote for a music video! (Clay's The Way) Laughing:

Keep the stories comin'!

p.s. I've gotten through twice so far!

Before Clay...

I never would have thought to drive 5 hours to see a celebrity's concert.

bought a concert ticket to see someone when I had only had his CD for five days.

download music on my cellphone.

never fallen in love so completely with someone I'd never met.

upgraded my operating system so I could watch videos.

have installed new ram on my computer.

I'm sure there's more :)  Great idea to bring this back!

Before Clay, I never

-Cried or was shattered over a contest loser
-Bought a Rolling Stone, Bop, J14 or Teen Beat(I think that was the name of it) magazine in my life.
-Knew what TRL was much less watch it
-Cared about nor prayed about the health, welfare and happiness of a star
-THUDDED  shock:  shock:  shock:
-Gave a thought to kids with autism mainstreaming in society
-Played a CD over and over and over and over again
-Posted on a website
-Met friends over the web much less in person
-Revealed true feelings to faceless people

How much my life has changed is just unexplainable.

Hmmm? MAYBE,...LOL! Sure I guess        We had a guest speaker at our school and he had people come up and talk about their "healthy" obsessions. Well I din't think Clay is sick    So I went up there, LOL HERE WE GO...So I got up there and I didn't know this but they set it uo 4 me. Everyone except a few BRILLIANT people think Clay is gay. Well, I got up there and I was like yeah "I have OCD and I am MAJORLY obsessed with Clay Aiken" And one of those BRILLIANT people whisled from the back and I turned to look at them and they started playing his song and flashing up pictures they made of me and Clay on the big curtain behind me. I was in bed with the man on one of them! And licking his poster in another! I dunno how they did it but OMG! I was S0o0o0o Embarrased!

I didn't know what to do so I stood up there like an idiot watching the show (They didn't know it but I thought it was GREAT!) LOL! When it was FINALLY over, or so I thought, they had some Kinda look alike Clay guy come out with a stuffed animal that looked like Raleigh and he layed a BIG OL' Kiss on me! It was kinda nice. Then the bell rang and everyone started to leave, The principal goes "WAIT! Everyone sit back down! Were not through here" I was like O,.....MAN! And then they had pics of little monica clay's! they had clays body and my face and some had my body and his face!! OMG! I was SO embarresing yet SO funny!!           Laughing:  Laughing:  Laughing:  Laughing:
