2007 Clay Calendar - Post Your Favorite Pics!

Since Clay decided not to produce a calendar this year, we can create our own!

Many of the online photo services offer custom calendars; here are just a few.  (Disclaimer: I've never ordered a custom calendar online, so I make no endorsements of any of these sites! But if you have, please post and tell us if you were satisfied with what you got!)

Shutterfly
Snapfish
Photoworks
Imagestation
York Photo

Styles and bindings vary from place to place, so don't forget to read the small print!  Things to look for:

Size (11x17 is standard)
Binding (stapled, plastic or wire spiral bound)
Stock (heavy weight preferable)
Price (averages around $20)
Shipping charges (some sites overcharge!)

Be sure to choose the best photos to be reproduced.  Also, be aware that some sites will not allow reproduction of what appear to be "official" or "copyrighted" photographs.  It's always best to use your own photos, or get permission from the photographer if at all possible.

There are some nice wallpapers in the gallery too, many of them created by cindylu2 from the CH.

Actually, I've done two different versions this year from York Photo.  I did one last year, too.  They turned out great!  I've also done matching mugs and mouse pads.   If anyone needs help, just pm me.    I've also used Sony Imagestation.  They have great mugs and mouse pads!!!!

I also have used YORKPHOTO.COM the last 2 years and think they do a great job.  They use heavy-weight paper stock and are wire bound.  They recommend using hi-res pics so use the largest version of the photo you like if possible for better quality.  This year they offer different styles.  They have a seasonal one which is kinda neat if you like a variety of seasonal backgrounds. 

WALGREENS.COM also offers the same calendar if you prefer to use them.  I think they are about $1-$2 more than YORKPHOTO.COM however.

I used alot of different ones.  York tells you if the photo you chose will work or not, which is a good thing.  You can pretty much guarantee that whatever you order will be top quality.  On the second calendar I made (for work), I put the title of one song from ATDW under each picture.  My mug (from Sony) is black with three different photos from the AMA's.  The mouse pad (also from Sony) has AMA Clay, People magazine Clay, and some others (six shots in all).  Yes, actually Hot Rock God is one of the pictures!

I don't know, Gwenn.  I would be happy to make a set of mugs, etc. and donate them to the BAF for a fund raiser.  Would that be possible?  And, how would I go about it?

As promised, here are some of my fav pics I used in my calendar.  Also, as Micki noted yorkphoto.com will tell you if a picture is a low resolution.  (thanks Micki!)  You can still use a lower resolution picture and it will look ok.  It will not be high quality like the hi-res pics are but will look a little more grainy.  Just wanted to let you know in case you wanted to use a fav pic that was not a hi-res pic.

We stamp so we used papers and inks and have themes and try to match the colors. It is not a cheap way to do it, but it is fun and we had a good time. I should take pics to share with ya'll.

Permaswooned has used some of her pictures and created some calendars for printing.  They are really nice!  She has several all year calendars and has one January 2007 calendar.  I'm not sure if she plans on making each individual month (hopefully she will!) but you can check back here to see:
