Fanfiction at Claymaniacs? *PLEASE READ*

Hello, Maniacs!

As many of you already know, it's been the general policy of ClayManiacs that we do not host fanfiction here on our board. 

However, it's also the policy of ClayManiacs to continually strive to meet the ever-changing needs of our growing community.  We recognize that sometimes this means revisiting policies and rules that could use some updating or reconsideration.

Fanfiction has continued to grow in popularity as Clay's career progresses and his fanbase expands.  We're aware that we have some avid readers and talented writers right here among our own members.  Because of that, Team ClayManiacs has decided that it's time to revisit the No Fanfic policy.  To do that, we need your help.

With this poll, we're looking to see if there is a large enough demand for fanfiction among our members to begin hosting it here on the board.  We also need to know how many budding authors we have out there.  Won't work to have a fanfic forum if all we have are readers and no authors, now will it?   

So you can vote in this poll up to 3 times. 

1.  Please vote yes or no regarding having fanfic on the board.

2. If you're an author. 

3. If you're a reader.

(And you can be both an author and a reader.)

We would be grateful if everyone participated on this one.  Your opinions matter!

Hey Kids!

Dropping by with some quick clarifications.

I've gotten a couple PMs with questions about what exactly qualifies as fanfiction.  So if anyone else is a bit befuddled ... here ya go!   

Fanfiction is any fictional piece written, in this case about Clay, by a fan.  It can be any of the following:

A drabble (100 words or less)

A skit.

A script-style story.

An action story.

An adventure story.

A romantic story.

A comedic story.  (Or any combination of the above.)

Short stories.

Chapter stories.

Novellas.  (Mini-novels.)

And so on...

Yes, fanfiction often includes stories of an erotic nature.  But that's only ONE category among many.

In short (too late), not all fanfic is about undies and chocolate sauce, y'all.   

And if there is enough interest for ClayManiacs to host fanfic here on our board, the stories with adult content will be kept in an adults only area, so as to be kept away from the innocent eyes of our young 'uns.    The rest of the stories will be in an area accessable to everyone.  Ya dig?

Why not????  It would be the same thing as your television.  There are many threads here that are clearly identified by their name.  If people wanted fanfic, it would be here.  If they don't enjoy that kind of thing, they just skip the thread.  We know the moderators are always vigilant to keep adult themed material in the adult section, so people would have the same choices there ... to read, or not to read.   Thank you for giving us the choice if you decide to go ahead with the fanfic thread.

A little late in responding, but I don't see any reason not to.  Threads are clearly labeled.  Those who enjoy writing can post their creations.  Those who enjoy reading can.  Those who are not interested can scroll.
