For the second year a group of Raleigh fans are gathering items and sending stockings to Brett's platoon for the holidays. Their goal this year is 60 stockings to be able to give each soldier in his platoon their own stocking filled with goodies.

This year, Claymaniacs is going to help out by accepting donations to cover the cost of shipping the boxes to Iraq. The cost of shipping was over $200 last year. Let's set a goal of $250 and see what we can make happen!

Donations must be received by November 14 as the stockings must be shipped by the 16th.

I know that many of you would like to help fill the stockings as well. Since they are really counting on Claymaniacs to cover the shipping costs I'd like to focus on that first. Anything received above the amount needed for shipping will be used to purchase more items for the stockings. Logistically it would be very difficult to arrange for donations of items. You would have to pay to ship them here. If I can figure out something easy I'll post it here.

I'll keep you updated regularly regarding the $250 goal and also regarding how many stockings the group has managed to make and fill.

I mailed out my check today. I wrote it out late last night and didn't make any notation on it. The check is for shipping costs or for filling a stocking, whatever is needed most.

My cousin's husband just was sent to Kuwait and will be sent to Iraq any day now. He is 47. She said that he needs things like razors, shaving cream and deodorant. They like getting books, Cd's, movies and pre-packaged snacks.

They are not allowed anything religious, booze or porn. shocking

My sisters and I are rotating weeks sending him something. This was my week and you know Clay's CD was included in my package!
