FYI - TROLLS *Admin Note Please Read*

Last night, some of our members were sent a private message or email which contained offensive, non-appropriate content.  If your profile is set to provide email notification of private messages, you received the message in both places. The message was sent by what is normally known as a "spambot," or an automated program which registers at forums as a person and then posts or sends out objectionable material to groups of members. The message was NOT from ADMIN, no matter what it says.

The troll has been identified and banned by email and IP address, and from posting here in the future. Other fan boards, including a Taylor Hicks fansite, report the same occurrence, so this attack probably had nothing to do with us, or Clay, or anything except disrupting our fun. 

I'm sure you all realize Claymaniacs.com neither condones nor approves of this type of material originating here, and we apologize for the violation.  We take great pains to research all new member applicants, and we do deny membership if we access negative information about the applicant. The process is not perfect, unfortunately!

The following changes have been made in order to help prohibit these occurrences in the future:

-access to our member list will no longer be available to anyone except admin, including other registered members

-no new members will be approved until such time as we find other and better methods to research the member applicants

-our current member roster will be purged, thus eliminating any registered members who registered but have never logged on to the website

For future reference, please reacquaint yourself with the procedures for any future troll attacks, as found in our forum guidelines section.

If you want to change your profile so that you will NOT receive email notification of private messages, click on PROFILE, then under Modify Profile select Personal Message Options.

Change ALWAYS to NEVER and you will not receive emails when you are sent a private message.

Also, for your own personal security, you should make sure your email address is HIDDEN.  In your PROFILE, click on Account Related Settings. Check the box that says "hide email address from public" and remember to click on the CHANGE PROFILE button at the bottom of the screen.

Note: You will be able to see your email, but no one else will except for the mods.
