Here's how it will work:
250 wristbands will be given out 1 per customer with purchase of the new Clay Aiken CD starting at 10am on Tuesday 9/19.
An additional 250 wristbands will be given 1 per customer with purchase of the new Clay Aiken CD on Tuesday 9/26 starting at 10am. 1 per customer (note - if one person purchases 8 clay cds they do not get 8 wristbands)
Fans can begin lining up for the appearance no earlier than 10am on Tuesday 9/26.!

Clay Aiken's got a new album, A Thousand Different Ways, dropping on Tuesday, but let's face it: What everyone's talking about is his makeover! We're used to seeing a fresh-faced, spiky-haired Clay Aiken, but on the finale of American Idol, Clay premiered his new "I'm a downtown-hipster" shaggy 'do.  Judging by his album art, this is the look he's going to be working for a while. But this new k.d. lang-meets-disaffected-myspacer image just looks a little forced to us. Tell us what you think: Is Clay's new look an improvement? Or do you prefer the old hair?

Past and present American Idol showdown

The weigh-in: Clay gets the release jump, with A Thousand Different Ways emerging Tuesday. But the cover-heavy tune stack raises questions about why he would want to follow the late-period Rod Stewart/Barry Manilow career path so early in his. Ruben (The Return, Oct. 17) and Fantasia (untitled, Nov. 14) may battle solely for R&B honors. Kellie (Small Town Girl, Oct. 31) is setting her sights on the country world, while Chris (untitled, Nov. 21) is aiming at the rock realm. And Taylor and Katharine (both untitled, Nov. 14) battle for this year's post-Idol pop championship.

Artistic champ: Tough to guess, but if Taylor stays true to his soul-man roots, he has a good shot.

Sales champ: Could be Clay — the Claymates are a sizable and dedicated cult, the others are limited by genre, and current Idol Taylor (who should beat Katharine) is an unknown quantity as a record seller.

Music Messiah - Music Review - A Thousand Different Ways

Most of you who read my picks, know I'm a huge fan of Indie bands such as: Dashboard Confessional, The Killers and PLAIN WHITE T'S, so this review may be a shock to you, when I give you my MUST have CD of the week.

From RCA Records: Clay Aikens new CD is called A Thousand Different Ways. It will be available in stores on September 19, 2006.

This is a must have CD. A Thousand Different Ways is filled with covers and sprinkled with a few originals. This CD will give you a feeling, that hope and romance are in the air. Like your favorite tasteful dessert, this CD is a guilty pleasure.

The music production is rich. Aiken's vocals have power, range and passion. He proves once again that he is one of this generations greatest vocalists. Aiken performs a vocally stunning rendition of Mr. Misters - Broken Wings. Aiken also takes on other difficult songs by Richard Marx, Celine Dion and even country great, Dolly Parton.

Aiken seems to handle these songs with respect and care they deserve.

September 19, 2006, Aiken should no longer be Invisible to recording industry!

Speaking of covers, two new albums are due Tuesday from clean cut crooners - one young and one old - and I'm plenty scared that a handful of classic songs are up for sacrifice, or more appropriately, slaughter. Clay Aiken slips a few originals on his new A Thousand Different Ways CD from RCA, but it's the promise of Badfinger's “Without You,” Foreigner's “I Want To Know What Love Is,” and Mr. Mister's “Broken Wings” that has me feeling itchy. After going metal for a brief, crazy moment a few years ago, Pat Boone is back for more next week, this time as a righteous soul daddy. Featuring songs by James Brown, Kool and the Gang, Smokey Robinson, and Sister Sledge, R & B Classics: We Are Family can be found on his own Gold Label Records imprint.

Clay's holiday show to be in Greensboro
From Staff Reports

If you want to hear Raleigh's Clay Aiken sing Christmas songs in person this year, you may have to head to Greensboro.
In what's billed as Aiken's closest-to-Raleigh show of the holiday season, the "American Idol" star will perform with the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra on Dec. 23 at War Memorial Auditorium.

Tickets, $49.50 and $64.50, go on sale at 9 a.m. Sept. 23 at the Greensboro Coliseum advance box office. You can buy them online at www.tickets.com or by phone at (888) 397-3100.

Aiken's third album, "A Thousand Different Ways" (RCA Records), arrives in stores Tuesday. The new collection is his first since "Merry Christmas With Love" in 2004.
